Poll: Odds of Bastila coming back
EnderAndrew replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
And if it's wrong, you owe us all 50 bucks. I like this agreement. -
*cough* Rebel Strike II - Hidden Empire *cough* And what about Cloakshape Fighters in the TIE vs X-Wing and X-Wing Alliance games? Or the Zahn novels? They explain that cloaking technology was abandoned due to flaws, not because it was too advanced. And you have many planets never discovered or contacted over a span of thousands of years. Who knows what technology could exist in 3,000 years? And while I don't expect to see cloaks on the Ebon Hawk, I'm just saying we don't have to limit technology in the entire galaxy to what we've seen in the movies.

Poll: Odds of Bastila coming back

No, Malak is pretty dead. After you beat him down, you talk, and then finish him off. Revan got knocked unconscious. You defeat Malak with a lightsaber. And then his body is blown up. If only this thread was. And while I have little problem with Alexia, and have enjoyed talking with her, there is no escaping that calling all men pigs is sexist. Perhaps she doesn't understand what sexism is. Since she judges on the basis of gender, she is sexist. That saddens me, because it is ignorant behavior from someone who otherwise seems intelligent and decent. -
Watch Made Windu get exposed as being Sith. He could have killed Sifodius, and used Sifodius' name to create the Clone army. Windu could have snuck up on Dooku and killed him, but he didn't. In fact, one could say that Dooku led the Jedi forces into a trap where many of them died. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- In all seriousness, I don't believe any of that. I wonder what spin-doctored surprise Lucas will try to have in Episode 3.

You're wrong. If someone pins religious motivations on Bush, I say they're right. Bush does mix religion too much into politics. And Bush is foolish for supporting CAFTA. And I don't like Bush's proposed amnesty program for illegal immigrants. Legal immigrants wait years and years for green cards. They pay taxes, and contribute to society while suffering huge limitations. Yet, we're going to punish them further while rewarding those that snuck into our borders, eat away at our social programs, and don't pay taxes all in the name of national security. If we're going to give amnesty and visas to the illegals, we need to give work visas to all the legal immigrants as well. I also don't care for Bush's current policies on North Korea. Why should we bribe those bastards? (The North Korean government - I have no qualms with North Korean citizens. The only Koreans I've met are Republic of Korea Marines, and those guys rocked!) Bush's stance on gay marriage is non-constitutional. That's not a matter of partisan politics, it's just clearly against what the country stands for. The 14th Ammendment makes it fairly clear that the government isn't supposed to be passing legislature to take away basic rights and liberties. If there is no victim, there is no crime. And while I prefer a heterosexual lifestyle (and am Christian to boot), I think there is no victim in two gays getting married. Thereby, the government really has no right to stop them. That's what freedom is all about. I wish we had a real canidate running for President. You say you hate Bush. But you hate Bush because of lies the media you told you. That's not fair. If the media painted accurate representations of public figures, and you hated Bush for things he actually did, I'd support you.

While Exar's power in the Force was unmatched, Sidious was more successful in creating an Empire. And Sidious had a huge power advantage over the likes of Thrawn (No Force potential), but Thrawn was a great villian. If Thrawn was in control of the Empire's resources at their peak, I doubt they ever would have lost.

Your argument on Germany starting WWII in the late 40's and winning is quite flawed. Germany was in a horrible depression, and had no military up until the beginning of WWI. They were crippled by the Treaty of Versailles, which was largely their motivation for hatred. The poor economy would have meant they would have no money for weapons research. The fact that they developed so much technology is due to the fact that they were already mobilizing and taking part in warfare. Germany discovered heavy water accidentally, and had no clue how powerful it was. They were pursuing atomic research, true, but they also overlooked it's impact as a biological weapon. When they discovered fission, England had to point out how valuable it was. Not to mention that Germany overlooked Einstein as a lesser scientist and had him working on grenades. That was brilliant.

Different kinds of "Dark Side" behavior?
EnderAndrew replied to CastleBravo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I like the Hannibal Lechter school of villiany. You have to play cat and mouse with your target. But don't let them get too smart. When they put 2 and 2 together, you eat their liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. -
Maybe you're on to something there, and the Sith Code was created to keep the lackeys in their place.

German had some of the top notch scientists in the world. And for all their research, they didn't build the bomb. And when they discovered fission, they didn't put it to use sooner. Germany often didn't realize the breakthroughs they made during that era. And Dresden wasn't entirely a civilian area, but yes, many civilians died. And for the nukes, I could argue that they were humane despite the number of civilian deaths. The Emperor declared that Japan would fight until the last man died. And they sure intended to. We scared them into surrender rather than drop the bomb on Tokyo. Regardless, even with rocket technology, Germany didn't build the bomb. And there would have been conflict between Stalin and Hitler regardless of whether or not Hitler tried to invade the US. The notion that Germany would have invaded and conquered the US is still preposterous.

I didn't vote. If there were an option for 90%, I might have gone with that. But, we'll all see come release time. -
Future SITH LORDS expansion packs
EnderAndrew replied to Nur Ab Sal's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No, I meant that someone other than Wedge survived. People debate who it was. Y-Wing Nitpick And I have no problems with expansion packs. And I agree that if you buy a PC/X-Box title on the X-Box, that's your fault. I own an X-Box, and I have nothing against console gamers. But I bought Morrowind on the computer because I expected expansion packs. And I'm glad I did. -

Since Bokiski is spamming like mad, it likely will be soon. -
Drakon, Empires can rise and fall in 3,000 years, and technology can certainly be lost. And along the topic of 3,000 year old guns, I though TotJ era guns were laser pistols, not blaster pistols. Did KOTOR goof in that?

Different kinds of "Dark Side" behavior?

Big Brother? I love Big Brother. -
Read my post again. I only said it about 10 times. Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. However, Saddam did have ties to Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda was around long before 9/11, and is responsible for many terrorist acts. They are a very large organization. CNN.COM This is also from CNN. The Bush administration has said the terrorist network and Iraq were linked. In response, a senior administration official traveling with President Bush in Tampa, Florida, said, "We stand by what Powell and Tenet have said," referring to previous statements by Secretary of State Colin Powell and CIA Director George Tenet that described such links. In February 2003, Secretary of State Colin Powell told the United Nations that Iraq was harboring Abu Musab Zarqawi, a "collaborator of Osama bin Laden and his al Qaeda lieutenants," and he said Iraq's denials of ties to al Qaeda "are simply not credible." In September, Cheney said Iraq had been "the geographic base of the terrorists who have had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11." Bush, responding to criticism of Cheney's comment, said there was no evidence Saddam's government was linked to the September 11 attacks. Just this week Bush and Cheney have made comments alleging ties between al Qaeda and Iraq. (Full story) Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. John Kerry said, "the administration misled America." "The administration reached too far," he told Detroit radio station WDET. "They did not tell the truth to Americans about what was happening or their own intentions." Now, I dare you to find a direct Bush quote where he said Saddam was responsible for 9/11. Kerry would have you believe Bush lied about that. Bush said Saddam had ties to Al Qaeda. He does.

You asked two different questions. Exar Kun was the most powerful Sith to ever live. Darth Sidious is who I would model a villian after given that list however.

Dear Obsidian Entertainment, I want this really great CRPG. I want total control, lots of areas, lots of gameplay, and replay value. It better look great, and have tons of different voice actors for my character. Oh, and add multiplayer. Complete it tomorrow, and sell it cheap, or maybe I'll just pirate it. And do a free MMORPG when you're not busy. Cater to me already. -- Disgrunted Fan

Different kinds of "Dark Side" behavior?
EnderAndrew replied to CastleBravo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What villians spring to mind as good examples? -
I'm sure guilty. On the topic of the Dark Side, the original trilogy, and the almighty Lord Vader set this precedent. We have a strong character who kills his underlings and uses fear and violence to achieve his goals. The Emperor was a minor character whose manipulative ways really only become clear in the hated prequels. Is it a surprise that Star Wars video game villians take suit? If the Dark Side is all about passion, then I don't expect you'll have a whole lot of cool, calculating, manipulative villians.

Lance Spacer has a real Errol Flynn ring to it. So, taking a cue from an Errol Flynn character... Lance Renzo? Go with whatever name you want.
