  1. No, Obsidian was formed by Feargus and the two Chris-type people. That makes them a triumvirate, and Troika just happens to be another world for triumvirate.
  2. It wasn't Wing Commander, because I recall that series. I played them all on the PC. I was a big fan of Origin Studios.
  3. There was a starfighter came on the system that I loved, and I can't remember the title.
  4. Well, there were three founders. What's another name for a triumvirate? Troika?
  5. I disliked Dueling. Down the stretch I compared Visas and the Exile in combat. the Exile had better stats, and the better saber, but Visas's double saber did far more damage because she got in that extra attack. At the low levels initially, Dueling might help you hit more often with the +1, +2, or +3 to hit. But in the later stages of the game, I'd rather take the extra attack when you're already +30 or so to hit. I also took Dueling and the Jedi Weapon Master, only to realize the feats I opened up where for new and improved Two Weapon Combat. Lovely.
  6. I actually dug the visualizations on the 3D0 when you played music. That was really neat back in the day. Yes, I have owned most every major console.
  7. Garriot roleplayed in UO in-character. That doesn't mean he designed the game. Check the credits on the game, and you'll see he wasn't the lead designer. He was working on another project at the time. The guy who killed Lord British (and I do recall the affair) wasn't banned for killing LB. If you were a fan of the Ultima franchise, you would know that there was one way to kill British in every game. It became an easter-egg of sorts, and Garriot put it in the games to appease the fans. The guy who killed LB had harrassed several players, and had been caught cheating and using exploits. Using exploits in a MMO equals a ban in every single MMO on the planet. How is that the biggest PR nightmare in the world? Star Wars Galaxies has recently had an issue far worse, and I know of worse incidents on all the major games. Garriot was a lead designer, and he wasn't given any control or sway over his projects, and he was fired. You call that quitting and running away? And I played the Gold Box Games, Wizardry, Might and Magic, Bard's Tale, etc. The Gold Box Games were popular because they fairly accurately brought D&D to the table, rather than copy D&D poorly like so many other CRPGs. That didn't make the plots incredible. How many people talk about those plots today? Wizardy had no real plot to speak of for the first 4 titles. They were empty dungeon crawls. The early M&M and Bard's Tale titles were pretty good, and still Ultima was the innovator. Ultima 0/Alkabeth innovated with 3D dungeons. Ultima II offered great complexity, multiple worlds, time travel, etc. Ultima III offered a very challenging game with a good story, that required you to do more than gain levels and descend into a dungeon. Ultima IV completely changed the whole genre. You couldn't win by gaining levels or killing beasts. You had to actually role-play. You were given a world where it didn't matter which dungeon you went to first. Your starting city was based upon moral questions you answered at the beginning of the game, to which there were no wrong answers. You mastered 8 different virtues, and the knowledge of how they were interconnected. If you really want to try and compare Champions of Krynn to a game like Ultima IV, go ahead. However, Ultima IV stands as a title nearly universally hailed as one of the greatest RPGs of all time. No one really speaks of Gold Box titles anymore.
  8. I dug this game, but I must say all of the AI scripts were fecal matter.
  9. RPG House +1
  10. This is a little more subtle.
  11. I went about 80% of the game without using a saber. I went dual-wield in the first game, which I felt was vastly superior, but everyone swore than Dueling was just as effective, so I decided to try it with the Exile. I had a Sith Tremor Sword that I upgraded on the workbench, and when I beat the game, it was still better than most of the sabers I had. Oddly enough, I beat Peragus/Citadel Station/Telos/Nar Shadda/Yacht/Dxun/Odderon/Korriban and then got halfway through Dantooine before I found my first lightsaber crystal.
  12. The pic of The Exile and Atton leaving the Academy on Malachor V isn't however, and she is pretty giddy there. Mind you, Atton is present, but I can't imagine a giddy Exile after said events.
  13. No, I imagine a Skywalker from many generations past was dropped into the Sarlacc on Tantooine. He whined and screamed that it was the most horrid pain in existance, save for being a Cubs fan. Then they pulled him out of the Sarlacc to notice that he wasn't really digested at all, nor harmed in any way noticable. But he was wet with saliva. It was then estimate that it would take 1,000 years to digest someone. The true horror is not the slow digestion, as you would die of dehydration in a few days. The horror is listening to someone in the Sarlacc whine and complain during all that time.
  14. Looking at Gamefaqs.com, I am now seeing there were plenty of opportunities, but I missed most of them by not having the right party member at the right moment. If I could discuss my actions of each planet with each party member afterwards, that would be fine.
  15. There is a confirmed Darwin Award for an officer of the law proving it was possible to commit suicide with a shotgun, by demonstrating and accidentally killing himself in the courtroom. And I presume you are thinking of Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee's kid. Brandon Lee was shot by another actor with a gun with "blanks" and killed. No investigation was ever really performed over the incident, and no charges ever pressed. Then again, when Bruce Lee died, he died on the set of a movie about an actor being killed on a set. And no investigation was ever performed in the death of Bruce Lee. There are conspiracy theories abound about how Bruce Lee spurned the Hong Kong mafia that controlled the film industry there when he initially went to the states.
  16. Make sure you have armor to protect against these things. Watch my slay all the dial-up members with these pics.
  17. I was perplexed by your link, and now it makes much more sense. My favorite Monthy Python item is the instant record collection. It was a vinyl album, but it's case popped upon to look like a stack of records.
  18. Here's some useful advice. Lather, rinse and perhaps repeat. Don't stick your naughty bits into toasters, unless they are bagel toasters. No, that is not wall candy. Toasters however do not make good bath toys. Yes, your tongue will in fact stick to a flag pole during winter, but feel free to try it yourself. Officers won't care that you shot at them with blanks. They have a poor sense of humor.
  19. +9,999 bukkake.
  20. I've never seen Floyd live but I wouldn't see them today. I really don't believe it would be the same thing.
  21. It's been years, but I think Ray was the one who said it was bad to cross streams, but then he wanted them to cross streams. Ghostbusters is a very quotable movie. Excuse me while I go hunt down the DVD from Amazon.com "Remember the time you wanted to drill another hole in your head?" "Yeah, but that would have worked if you hadn't stopped me!"
  22. What if I fling poo? I can fling poo quite well. Really!
  23. The Basillisk? You do ride one, though it's weapons are damaged.
  24. She watches with me. She's more into adult ...entertainment... than I am.
  25. People really seemed to love the plot of the first KOTOR, even if the writing was cheesy. I think the plot of the second KOTOR brings up many more interesting questions, though there are some holes.
