poll: chance of Bastila returning take II
SilverSun replied to steelfiredragon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Bloody Hell...deleted my last responce.... <_< Try this again. Okay I never said she had a major role in the game first off. Second, you could end up with a situation where you have a few possible endings and then a number of different paths to reach the ends. Each path being different and giving a different experience but still have it conect to the over all plot of the game. The last game had its limits to how it could work things because of your character being Revan. But with how they're doing things in this game it gives them a little more room to move and play with different story branches and what not. And extra work? Effort? Isn't it their job to create the game? So if they planned on not stepping on people's choices and wanted to take every step to do so then adding different branches that still apply to the over all plot it wouldn't be extra work or effort but instead simply sticking with their original plan. But again I'm not a dev and could be way the hell off on how I'm taking the things I've seen said. Time will tell one way or the other. -
poll: chance of Bastila returning take II

I think that the comment was not based on individual choices, but the choices that individuals that played the game made. I would think that many smaller choices could and would be omitted. The choices the player made in the gamer were individual choices. Not everyone played the game the same way. Not everyone killed her and not everyone let her live. Not everyone killed Juhani in the groove and some people did. All those things are personal and individual choices that change the way the game was played and turned out based on the individual playing and how they played. And with all the effort being put into the Sith Lords to take that kind of thing into account I don't see them simply sticking the players with one answer for something like Bas. I could be wrong,I'm not a dev nor am in their heads but going off what I've seen so far simply making up one answer for something like the life or death of a character would go against most of what has been said about not wanting to step on anyone's choices from Knights. If the one answer is: She's dead-Then you've gone and stepped on the choice of everyone who put the effort into saving her. She's alive-You've stepped on the choices of everyone who killed her. They've obviously have different story trees based on what on choices the player makes in the conversations early on. I don't see it as being that difficult to have a branch of that being with her alive and one with her dead. It would go right along with the comments that have been made by the Devs. Not only about the choices but also on who you run into being based off a number of factors. -
Another Character Returning Poll

I don't think I'd trust T3 if he was crazy like HK and I couldn't even understand what he was saying without another droid around. -
Or Revan and Carth if you're playing as a female character.

How can she be a joinable NPC when she's dead? And since there is a chance she died, I wouldn't include her. The same with Bastilla. She does not have to die,it's an option and choice the player makes. As such it's possible that how you answer the questions could effect her being in the character selctions loop that is created by the conversations and whatever else goes into it. But that's only if they choose to put her in,which they may not, same with Bas.

Somone you trusted killed your wife and your kid(or at least thought did.) I doubt too many here would trust all that many people again. That being said,if they gave the character better lines he might not have annoyed most everyone so much.

Fair enough. I was just tossing the info out there. Since X-Box charges for X-Box live, many people assume there is a monthly fee to play PS2 online. I'm pretty much out of luck for online gaming for the next few years. But I was never huge into it except for JK. Wouldn't mind playing some of the MMORPG but it'll have to wait. But thanks for trying. -

The only MMORPG that charges on the PS2 is Final Fantasy XI that I know of. However, other than that, gaming online with the PS2 is free. True, but you have to buy the equipment to play online and I don't have the money to spend on something like that. If I'm going to spend the money I'll just buy a game and skip the online play. -
Another Character Returning Poll

I forget off the top of my head but I did see a site saying HK would be back. However game sites aren't official and I have yet to see a Dev confirm it. -
Why wasn't he alongside Luke in all the novels? Main reason? Games aren't EU,now over time KK has been placed into the EU. He's mentioned in the NJO books I believe but still, games aren't official EU usually. Though I agree with the level number applying to the way the game works and not the story.

Some people killed the character. The more branches you put into the story, the more time it takes to develop. If she's dead, then you need a replacement for that slot. Depending on how many character options they make for each branch that may have been taken into consideration all ready. Answer this way she's placed into the loop. Answer this way and someone else is. And for every character we lift from KOTOR, we are depriving the designers from coming up with new characters. Long as it's a decent character it works for me. Be it from Knights or a new one.

Or does T3 serve another purpose that we don't know about? Ugh...

Heh,does Bas even have eyes in that pic?

That would be kind of funny. Wouldn't fit with the whole setting, but would still be funny. -

They(the Devs)have not said exactly how in depth the questions will be but considering almost every interview I've seen it's been stressed that they don't want to step on the indiviudal choices the player made in Knights I can't see them leaving things like if Bas lived or died out and simply making an answer up for it. -
She was standing a little to close to the MC while he/she was playing with their lightsaber...

I seriously doubt Bastila will make anappearance in the game. It could ruin your choice to whether Revan ended up light or dark. Maybe you find her remains or something. You will be able to decide these kind of things at the start of the game through conversations you have in which you decide things like was Revan male or female was he/she dark or light etc. Nothing is ruined because what happens is decided by you. If it's ruin you might want to look at the choices you made at the start of Sith Lords. -
How young one looks and how young one actually is are not always the same. Something like that could be used to her advantage.

I've been able to get that reaction out of Can once or twice, usually he just tells me he needs more time. -
Well, persuade got you so much more than anything else, and I still can't imagine having a more useful skill... Treat Injury if high enough I heard was suppose to unlock some little quests or something close because you can use the skill on others. Repire is going to allow more modification to items on the work bench. Security and Comp I would think could have some useful extras to them. Dem might have a few nice features to them as well. Not to say persuade will be useless but it's going to be hard for me to pick just a few skills at first. Kind of why I hope the Sens get fixed because of the skill points they'll have.
-
Considering what some of the other skills will unlock I think the other skills will mean a lot more then they did in Kinghts.

Hmm,thanks. Like I said if haven't done it and want to play as a decent middle road character give the Solider/Consular a try. You get a decent amount of feats and VP points from the solider so you can not only live through a fight but dish out decent damage. You get a good amount of FP and powers from the consular which allows you to use the force to help out where you want it. Either in the offense or the Def.
