  1. Though in JA, if you go Dark, you still kill the Sith, but you kill the Jedi as well. T'ing to remember is that usually when the game allows you to go Dark, it makes the character want complete domination. Ergo it won't become Darth wassiname's apprentice, it'd rather just kill Darth wassiname and just nick his followers - but said followers will of course get in the way when said Darth tries to defend himself, so ergo in order to rule the Sith, you have to kill off those who a strong enough to already oppose you to begin with. If that makes any sense
  2. While I see that whatever happens in KOTORIII, the build up of KOTORII makes it almost certain that Revan will have to play a large part, I still don't see why Revan need have to be a man or a woman. KOTORII didn't feel the need to establish beyond doubt Revan's "intended" gender. I also see it as impossible that the game will have Revan or the Exile as the main player character. Simply because that in all games (that I know of) featuring Jedi - there is a curve stating that the character begins with next-to-no knowledge of the Force and progresses over the course of the game to mastery. It's common game setup. The game has to be able to stand alone. Considering I played KOTORII before I got the first, I know that KOTORII can stand alone. Tell me, was there many people before TSL came out that seemingly expected it'd be about Revan all over again? It's perfectly natural that there would be someone else, a new character. That's just my thoughts on a few subjects - as for the game - yes, I wait till official confirmation - hopefully LEC have learnt not to hype anything up too much before its time. I have no problem with Obsidian possibly making KOTORIII - good luck to them, is what I say!
  3. Fantastika! Lidda you're brilliant! ) More please
  4. I voted for the Dantooine outback. Actually I found Bastilla's theme to be quite peaceful and evoking as well Generally I liked KOTOR music much more than KOTORII - though there are a few tracks in the second game that I quite like - The ruined enclave one being one of them. Can't wait for that certain patch to come and apparently give us slightly higher-quality sounding tracks.
  5. That's great, I love it
  6. Best of luck with it Swine!
  7. Yep, can't wait to see some more
  8. Yeah... when they say "last Jedi", it should probably be, "the last Jedi they know of"... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I think Kriea - or what it Atris - kept saying "They believe you to be the last of the Jedi"
  9. I think Bastila left the Order - not the Force though of course. If you play out her "quest" long enough and well enough, she will meet her mother and agree to meet her on Coruscant after everything is done. Even discounting all that whole Darkness bit she did, by seeking out her family it breaks the whole Jedi Code thingy so she probably packed it in - especially as the rest of the Order collapsed anyway. So after Revan left she went with Carth back to Telos and stayed there. The Sith didn't go after Atris, they probably didn't find Bastilla for the same reason. Personally though I think the whole "Last of the Jedi" was a fib - while it is true they were trying to rid the Galaxy of Jedi, I think the bad guys were chasing the Exile down because all the Exile was was a pawn in a greater power game played between Kreia, Sion and Nihilus. Well, that's what I think anyway. I think because you could murder Juhani on sight probably means that they'll never talk of what happens to her after KOTOR, because she could have died before she even got involved - though I would have thought that if you establish Revan as being LS, there's a good chance that Revan would have let her live. Who knows though?

  11. The games I mentioned in particular haven't been released yet, but I do know what you mean. One thing I will certainly give Consoles is that games that just so blatantly need a patch to even play generally don't make it out of the doors. That is quite different with PC games it seems. (For instance, one of the Czech companies I mentioned released one game, while ultimately very successful, and a game I can happily say I really enjoyed, was as buggy as hell!) Oh no I meant on Game charts not scores, sorry. " Usually I find the "Best game of all time" is a Console game, and usually fairly recent. A game like HL2, which is worshiped as a God by virtually every PC publication I can think of is lucky if it makes it into the top 10. To be honest I don't actually play HL2 either - tis why I wait for STALKER (which is constantly being delayed because they want to get it right first time out) because it is a more original concept.
  12. I have big problems playing DS, but if there's a thug about, I'll probably slaughter him rather than be all placid and everything. Having said that, I have just force pursuaded two thugs to take a hike over the guard rails on Nar Shaddaa - and I felt really bad about it afterwards
  13. Ah no, but there you teams from the Ukraine and the Czech Republic - not often considered the capital of computer games, making some of the most promising PC games ever. Ukrainians making STALKER where everything exists with a seperate personality and the ability to weigh up the pros and cons of trying to eat you or leaving you alone - all in real time - all free roaming and without any set pieces. Two Czech teams making war sims - and I mean war sims, not soldier sims or mere FPSs, where you exist as a pawn in a living breathing, conflict in multiple 500km2 enviroments. Why am I mentioning this? Well, these games are promising because they are unique, and none of them are being backed up by billions of Sony, Nintendo or even Microsoft dollars or yen. But, even if all three knock the entire rest of the PC market for six, they still might fall well below being called the "greatest games" across the board because all PC Games fall due to seemingly Popular Culture that states that all console games receive + 20% bonus on these charts. Now, if these console games are addictive and great to play then sure, I see no problem with that, and they probably are, but I'd be sad to see them win largely just down to having much more money fired in their direction.

  16. While I agree that there are many merrits for Consoles I've been using PCs too long to see the point of myself getting a console. Bikkering about them is both a waste of time and energy however. I seriously doubt anyone in the "fanboy" camp on either side will suddenly hear a single arguement from the otherside and be suddenly won over. One thing I will add though is that I understand Nintendo's position entirely. I've seen the new screens from the next-gen console games and I keep hearing people going "Wow, that console has great graphics..." WRONG, that console can support games that have great graphics - but it doesn't automatically mean that every game that appears on that console will have the exact same level of graphics - I hope people don't grow to expect that from every new game that comes out. Personally I think the pinnicle of game graphics is only a few years away, at the most, but as John Carmack (I think) said, graphics are not the be all and end all, and people are (or so I thought were) wanting depth and originality. So naturally I appreciate Nintendo's stance on the matter, and I believe the next level of games lies beyond mere eye-candy. Besides, with everything having to be as detailed graphically as possible, it is bloody expensive, and I hope some of the more bolder game designers aren't scared off from making their games because they know people won't buy their games because "Oh, it doesn't look as good as genericgame08" or something - thus meaning they divert a high proportion of funds just to make the game look "acceptable" and skimp on some pretty neat ideas because they don't have the time or money to include them anymore.
  17. You're Bao-Dur! ( ) Good thing you're good with machines, 'cause lotsa people need that in their lives! Mechanics are needed everywhere. Keep your thoughts from your darker past and look forward. Things will brighten as long as you take it one step at a time. Not bad, in some places it could be more subtle, but with improvements it could be pretty good

  19. As I said previously GL is just not good at getting performances out of actors. Only those who are pretty much above it all and do there own thing anyway tend to turn in good performances. I mean Christopher Lee is much the same as Saruman in EPII but he brings both a dignity and a huge presence to both roles. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. Personally I think the cast in the original trilogy were allowed to - or just got away with - sort of doing there own thing in some respects, and that's why painful dialogue doesn't really shine out like it does in the Prequels, an the performances are (generally) thought to be better.
  20. Personally I believe in a further form of Democracy where you get rid of biased Party Politics where they spend the entire term in office trying to get one over on the other and get basically sod all done - and have devoted Representatives instead and have a Democracy where cocnerns of the people are put before a Council and debated. The people are encouraged to get involved in the process as much as possible. And then on entry to the real world... Well, voter apathy has already gone beyond recovery (in the UK at least) - the representatives would require extremely close regulation to stop factionism and the last Council-based system didn't go down well with the bulk of the world... But no, if I had gone into stasis last week and woke up yesterday to find the world mostly devastated with the survivors relying on me to reform civilisation, then I would try and enforce that policy. So what am I saying? Yes I beleive in Democracy, but not the Democracy we have now - it's crap and could be much better - it needs another kick up the arse like what happened in the 19th century. In the UK at least. But that's my own opinion. Hell, I am 19 after all - I know everything...
  21. Meh, I think there are all pretty fine actors involved in both Trilogies - I just don't think GL got very much out of the Prequel actors. But then, both trilogies were approached I think from entirely different angles.
  22. I'll agree with that - looking pretty fine!
  23. Cheers for the comments (and the cookies (w00t) ) I don't know - I think the head is the biggest problem with the pic, like you said petay, I think I could have showed some more life and emotion with that - but was struggling with it quite a lot. Oh, and the arms were much, much longer to begin with BTW "
  24. Anyone want a challange - attempt to finish the last levels wearing body armour - ergo, sans a fair deal of your force powers. That was difficult - and then I discovered if only I had switched to my robes, it was really quite easy...
