I've finished another one for ya all. Juhani, (My choice of) Revan and for the first time for me, Bastila. What's going on? Well, I don't really know. All I will say is two words - Moody Blues. I'll leave you to see if you can figure out where I'm going with this Hope you likes Personally I'm rather worried about the figures. Either too tall or too thin or probably both. -
Where to get Music from the game?
Zulu 86 replied to SniperRu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oh I ment in general. Regardless what anyone says about Grisky's site. That is true, and I find equally bad that is there is no pause button and you are forced to have it on repeat (or if otherwise, I haven't found out about it yet). But still, it's good for a quick listen. I did - well the stereo for sure - and certainly more evident on the KOTOR 1 tracks. ...Well for me anyway. -

But it does have a much better sound quality than the game's... ...ragardless of what you say about the quality from Grisky's site it is much, much better than the game. @SniperRu: You can download Miles Sound Tools (http://www.radgametools.com/mssdown.htm) and you can listen to the game tracks without having to rename anything. The player also has reverb and stereo effects built in so it actually makes the music sound better anyway. I think the K2 music you're looking for is also found under the name mus_jedi.wav - but I would seriously recommend getting that one from the site Musopticon? linked to. -
Now that does sound interesting (and real - cool :D) It says four years before KOTOR (the KOTOR we play - bugger this is going to be confusing) is that four years before the start of the game or the start of the events - ie, before the Mandalorian Wars? I would have thought it would have made more sense to avoid Revan and that lot completely - though you can still leave little nods in. Mandalorian expansion could obviously be a matter for discussion at local cantinas - and I suppose you could include Vulkars and that lot, or perhaps have a young Twi'lek in the background trying to desperately talk his way out of something while his young sister looks around nervously.... I guess we'll have to wait and see. Sound fun anway

Wasn't there already a DH comic series called Knights of the Old Republic? *Looks up internet* Yep {{/edit - 213374U beat me too it - but there's the proof anyway...}} Odd. Anyway, nah, even if it isn't about Revan and co, if it's roughly the same period, then I would sure as hell be interested Actually I'm slightly worried incase it was about Revan - if they attempt that then they'd have to make "certain decisions" about Revan (or any of the characters really), for every route there would be about 20,000 angry fans saying "You b*****ds! That's not how I played it! I stab at thee!"

Can I do a fanboy sigh? I am constatly knocked for six by Aimo's art. J'adore! For DL again - though not nearly as impressive - another Futurama cross over, this time actually involving KOTOR ( ! ). A quick one of Leela as Revan. crippens, I haven't done this much art in ages... /edit - helped if I actually added the picture...

Thanks for all the comments Glad you liked it :D I'm working through a few - I've got a Carth/Revan pic I've been thinking about doing for a while, watch this space [Mr Burns]I find them more attractive with the clothes on! That and robes took less time to draw than her leather/armour combo. Generally speaking, I always sketch and scan - but more recently I've been using vector tools like the Pen tool an awful lot and it really comes out well I usually sketch to get a rough idea of what the pic will look like, but in some cases with the pen tool I can do that anyway and save a lot of time - not to mention adjust it very easily In fact I almost feel like I don't need a tablet - it was something until recently I was considering very seriously about getting. Pics like that will easily take several hours - I know some like to work over several days, but I usually like to drive through and get it done almost all at once.

Is that a bullpup 5.56mm or an imperial .223? (<{POST_SNAPBACK}>) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, not a bullpup. I prefer me classic looking Assault Rifles. I suppose I am baised by the whole SA80 affair though... Just thought I'd quickly add that in - carry on...

Whatwhat? (w00t) Nah, it's just the evening - sometimes I just hit a certain point and wheeee away I go... ...hmm... Anyway, my favourite Duke quote (After finding the mangled deceased corpse of a possibly recognisable character-from-another-game) "...That's one doomed Space Marine..." It's the little touches you treasure. :D Edit: Actually concerning gore, I remember watching a TV report about (I seem to remember) a "Problem Child" and he was playing Duke3D - only with the parental lock on - so I saw him fire a rocket at one of those squid things...and it just vanished. "What a bloody lightweight!" I thought. Reminds me of my cousins (who were ever-so-slightly younger than me and also playing Duke3D) and they put a parental lock on and decided to make it more cool by having the password as some swear word - only they forgot it! Priceless :D But ultimately, as far as firing rockets at one another - I actually really enjoyed Dark Forces more than both Doom and Duke3D. I used to love firing mortars, Assault Cannon rockets, or tossing Termal Detonators at Stormtroopers and seeing them flying through the air and sometimes hurtling off tall ledges. Sure, firing rockets at aliens or mutant zombie spawns of Satan and having them explode in redness and flying pixels may be more gorey - more realistic - and ooooh, more adult - I was actually left feeling slightly unfufilled... EDIT:EDIT: @Alunshu - that's it, you're right, "duke3d" did suffice Just I seem to remember with some games and applications, there were files with the same name but with different extensions, and whenever I tried to get away with leaving out the extension, all hell would usually break loose

Meh, neither Blood interests me, though before anyone accuses me of being n00b (ahem!) I played Duke Nukem 3d almost religiously at one point. Back in the good old days... >c:\ >cd\duke3d >duke3d.exe That's how a man starts off a game, he commands the computer to run it for him! No ponsy click and "please open up ExtremoGore7, oh fair and cute and lovable PC? Pweatty Pwease?" Well, I say a man, I was about 12 at the time. Opps I suppose - that oughta turn me into a mass-murder. I actually left school early you know - I gunned down all the teachers and most of the pupils with an 7,62mm Avtomat Kalashnikova Obratza 1947 Goda -got I love that baby, such reliability and stopping power - and she tells me she loves me too. Nah, I'm just joking, I don't really own an AK47, and actually would far rather get an AK74 instead. The arguement saying violent games = violent people is wrong, and I said so on the WB11 News at Ten! ...I'm sorry this is irrelevant isn't it? Yes a lumberjack!

Good point Llyranor, I personally think it's been such a long time, the mainstream hype will have mostly melted away, with only perhaps older and more veteran gamers suddenly saying "Holy cripes, I remember being really excited by this game once!" and going out to see just what it's like. Incredible to think that the entirety of the Quake, Serious Sam and Half-Life franchises have come into being and flourished since Duke3d was released (possibly even after Duke4 was announced as well it seems) - 3DRealms are going to have to do something very good to impress the majority of customers in what is already a crowded market. Tis why I'm waiting for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. instead...

I'll see what I can do Though still slightly worried about attempting Bender Great Sion, Kor, I really like how you've done it

I'll see what I can do. Neat sketch again Julian - nice to see the return of that certain avatar

Cheers :D Photoshop all the way - I didn't even sketch them out either - which is (usually) not normal for me.

Thought I'd share some other work I've been doing over the last couple of days - though I was nearly scared away by the sheer awesomeness of that Bastilla pic. I know this is not a competition for the best fan-art ever, but damn I felt "humbled" by that. This is a hybrid Futurama fan-art, unfortunately not really KOTOR fan-art - I got a few requests to do these from a guy (mod actually) on the Futurama boards I go to, and I foolishly thought I'd do them before answering to people's replies here. Basically they are two possibly recognisable Futurama lasses appearing as two (possibly recognisable) Jedi (though from EPIII - not KOTOR) Hope you likes, Hopefully I'll get more KOTOR stuff done relatively shortly. -

So maybe some of the current Mandalorians are actually voluptuous divas hidden beneath body armor? I thought about Mira - but she doesn't have that great Australian accent (although come to think of it, I'm not sure that Mandalore does either). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then again, most of the KOTORiginal Mandalorians, including Canderous of course, had mostly American accents, its only in KOTwOR that they get -Kiwi actually I believe - accents. I dunno, perhaps they recorded the voices before the release of Attack of the Clones, then for the second game gave the Mandalorians Kiwi accents in honour of Temuera Morrison (or perhaps because I also think LOTR made accents from that area of the world seem extremely sexy) - although I don't think that was entirely necessary, since if what I think I remember reading about EU is correct, then Jango Fett wasn't born a "Mandalorian" either. It's probably against Mandalorian code, as a warrior "race", to accept women into combat alongside the men - though I do personally believe that women can be just as fierce fighters as men. Amazons for instance - but there are plenty of examples during history - Russian and other Eastern European female soldiers during both World Wars and the points in between is another example.

Thanks for the comments Yep - unusually for me it was all Photoshop - one of the things I was testing there was to see if I could draw her without using a preliminary (argh I can't spell) sketch and scanning it in. Turned out quite well - though I didn't attempt to draw the rest fo the body - there it would have probably gone wrong... Oh, and Portishead BTW - for the time being. But I can't draw Bender! Anyway, next time I should hopefully have some KOTOR stuff to show. Sentry, that pic's looking better and better. I can't wait to see it finished. I am very sorry to hear about your Grandma though.

*faints again* I've been a bit busy and all, but I've got a couple or so "in the works" as it were. I did a very simple Futurama picture if you're interested? That and I was staring out of the window at the sun setting over Wales, and it matched the sky textures of Dantooine in the first KOTOR almost perfectly - and it made me think that despite all that happens on Dantooine, all the weeks of training, all the fighting etc, you only seem to go out and about at Dusk - I dunno, I might try and make somthing of the thought - "Jedi who only go out at Dusk" Although I'm seriously worried I'm about to fall into the San Andreas trap as well Must resist! Nice pic Petay BTW

*faints at the rediculously fantastic-ness of Lidda's pic...* :D

I don't think voice is too much of a problem (sorry, just heading backwards slightly...) - remember technically Revan had a voice already - he\she would make little remarks during actions or would grunt in combat. It wouldn't be too difficult to give Revan a full voice - remember they gave you the option of having either a male or female Jaden Kor, and they recorded voices for both. In fact, the only time there was a glitch was on Taspir when Allora mentions that Jaden has come for his friend (Rosh) even when playing as a female character. I really fail to see a problem about what gender Revan can be - you just need to talk to someone at the beginning again and have them say "Revan, a great man" and you reply "Er excuse me, I thought Revan was a woman?" or not as the case may be - and problem solved. You can do exactly the same thing with DS/LS as well. Only thing left is how to match Revan's face - a mask would probably be a likely solution.
