Sion and Juhani... hwha? I'm not sure what you mean. I fabricated a background story between Sion and the Exile, that they both were friends or had feelings for each other before they went off to fight that there war, an unnecessary yet possible explanation for why it seems Sion has feelings for the Female Exile during the game. Or something. Juhani I completely fabricated the fact that she was human and in the Red Army ^_^ As you do. Thanks very much anyway, that's a neat sketch, good to see you drawing again. Thanks everyone for the comments on the Swoop Bike - I do hope to finish the whole thing soon, but my time's being eaten up, what with Christmas and all. The picture probably wouldn't have been possible if I didn't have a bunch of models that a guy called Greg Logan made from various KOTOR ships and vehicles. I used it as reference and it helped A LOT.

Yay! It is Atton Cheers for all the comments Was slightly worried about the teeth - I think I need to adjust the top set a bit. Anyway, in the mean time, here's part of something else I'm working on.

Cheers again for the comments Yes, glad you like the tree DL I've got another one for you to guess who it is - it should be fairly easier - just think of him with slightly more hair, and the fact that this is based on an established story he tells you about - if you have enough influence and have visited Nar Shadaa... ^_^

Probably it's not so obvious because I haven't drawn him very well. You're probably going to hate me for being overly mushy - but I mean, I was reading up the Star Wars Wiki entry on this character and it mentioned the fact that if the Exile is male, then he absolutely dispises the Exile and wants nothing more than to kill him, but if the Exile is female, then the relationship is slightly different. I then thought about the idea that perhaps before the war, there was a "history" between him and Female Exile, and perhaps he was a Jedi who fought alongside Revan et al at Malachor, but literally didn't quite survive in one piece like the others - perhaps he was out in the open - some of his injuries due to the effects of the Mass Shadow Generator, which really should have killed him - ie ripped him apart, but Malachor being Malachor, the Dark Side consumed him and kept him whole - just about. Or something. Yes, if you haven't guessed who it is yet I of course refer to Sion. That should make it look clearer.

*bump* Wonder if anyone can figure who the other guy's supposed to be. It's sent before the Mandy Wars, that might help slightly. Kinda following on from my "What if Juhani was human (and in the Red Army) and an interesting concept I picked up from playing the game - but it's not Bao-Dur BTW. I've been busy doing other things, which is why I haven't done any art recently - I've been doing a spot of fan-ficking instead (w00t)

I was in stitches all the way through that. It's fantastic :D Even showed it to some of the guys on the Futurama boards, and they loved it too - Helena L = teh brilliantest! ^_^

Anyone remember Clint Bajakian? He's one of my favourites

Maybe no Cathar, but there were lots and lots of female Soviet soldiers - and the fair Courtney Taylor voices them all In the game at least - and slightly higher pitched actually than Juhani. But fur aside, they're very similar characters  A couple of points though, I disagree with Operation Flashpoint not having much delivery - it could punch very hard some times. I certainly love it's openness and cannot wait for Armed Assault (think OFP 1.5) to come our way. But it's interesting what you say about scripting - CoD and MoH are heavily scripted, but from the Previews of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it should be possible in the future for a completely unscripted event to come and take your breath away. Sure, in STALKER, you may suddenly be set upon by a large group of mutants, only to be saved by two patrols of soldiers charging in and fighting them off - impressive, but the mutants only attacked you because they felt hungry, and felt they could take you without serious danger - and that the military types just happened to be doing their routine patrol at the time. Nothing like "step past tree #3 - spawn 6x Nazis". I personally think that's where many FPS's can and I think will go - it's certainly - from what I understand - the route the complete sequal to Operation Flashpoint is going. There was certainly promise that for CoD2 there would be more flexability in the enemy attack - for instance, attack a town, the guards on the otherside filter across from the other side of the town. Unfortunately, I didn't see that in the full game - it still seemed spawn and wave based. @Calax: to be honest, you SHOULDN'T be able to hit squat if you run and gun - though I agree there should be a difference in speed levels to make moving quickly and still firing effectively more easier - Hidden & Dangerous 2 did this well - you can control the speed of your men with the mouse wheel - you could also creep forward more easier as well then. That said, I don't just spray everything in CoD2, I actually usually stand back and pick them off with one of the bolt-action rifles - ie, Lee Enfield or Mosin-Nagant rather than Thompson or whatever. But that's just how I played the game.

Well actually I went out and got CoD2 after playing, and really enjoying, the first one + expansion, and I did think it was rather good. It's got Juhani in it! (w00t) But I say "rather" good. It's got Juhani in it! (w00t) I mean, the levels were larger and more realistic than the first game(s) but lacked that special spark - the original missions seemed...well...more original. But with such huge chunks of the war in Europe already covered in CoD and UO, I respect the decision not to go over the same areas twice, but it does make the flow of the game feel very disjointed. Not to demand "Where's Berlin? Where's the rest of Stalingrad? Where's the Paradrop over Normandy? Where's Kursk? Pegasus Bridge? Kharkov? Bastogne? Sicily? etc" but just one mission to get over the Rhine, secure the town - "And yes, so the Americans made onto German soil for the first time - this time, the attempt to bridge the Rhine was successful. Then some stuff happened then the war ended." Even with the end of UO, as you make an insane attempt to take back the Kharkov railyard, there is still a very long way to go for the Red Army before it can start waving flags on the top of the Reichstag, but as the train full of reinforcements comes literally crashing through the station, as the VVS comes sweeping down to wreck havoc, the Wehrmacht flee for their lives - you can tell the war is turning, the Red Army is not about to worry about the phrase "Ne shagu nazad!" again - it's onward all the way to Berlin (just about). In other words = closure. CoD2 doesn't have that. And yes, the Thompson's magazine is pitiful - I often drop it for a "liberated" MP40 or better still, MP44. It is a good game, but...I...I don't think it offers anything really new. Except perhaps... It's got Juhani in it! (w00t)

THat's brilliant, I love it :D

Cheers for the comments I think it looks really good Lord Gabreil Oh, and neat Mandy, Basky :D
-
"Basky"! :D Cheers BTW
-
This will probably come out wrong, but the outfit looks better if you take the belief that a woman is wearing it ^_^ "
-
Great art everyone - especially Lord Gabreil, I really like your pics. Sorry I've been away for so long - and cheers for the comments on the Juhani picture - I'm working on adding more detail to it - still wondering whether it really is viable to be on KFM... " Anyway, I've done another pic - I watched Spirited Away the other day - wonderful film - but there's just one character that I saw that couldn't help but think of a certain character from TSL. I've you've seen Spirited Away, you'll probably know what I'm talking about - if not, well, no, you won't have a clue what I'm talking about (Of course, you could have watched Spirited Away and still not have a clue what I'm talking about )

Spartans the Model for the Mandalorians?
Zulu 86 replied to DarkAngle's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
From my understanding, I always thought Spartans merely left the weeklings up in the hills to die (though they could well have done both) - if they did die, so be it, who cares, but if they actually managed to survive up there and come back down again, then perhaps they were strong enough after all - and I think that's something I can see happening in Mandalorian society really. -
Cheers Darkside Uh-oh, looks like I've scared everyone else away
-
Did some art - only it IS KOTOR, BUT NOT KOTOR, at the same time. Probably just a one off (though doing pics like these with Futurama led to rediculously huge amounts of follow-up pics ) Well the thing this pic hinges on was that I was playing Call of Duty 2 recently, and sufficise to say - it was nice to hear Courtenay Taylor reprise her Russian accent. Merge the two together in a horrible mess (in my mind basically) and out pops: Hope you likes - comments especially wanted this time...
-
Sweetness! :D
-
Da, it sounds good - but I'm always slightly suspicious of feeling a game is on the way when people talk about it SHOULD LucasArts so desire. Usually a bad sign for me.
-
Cracking stuff as always Sentry Love to see it finished I have to admit - I go through stages of what I do in my free time, currently I've moved on from KOTOR for a little while, but hopefully I'll be back to it soon
-
Cheers for the comments again Wow, Vashanti, great stuff
-
Unfortunately the explosion - great on-going fire really - is not the primary lightsource for Revan - the fire is, oh, five or ten plus miles away. Unfortunately the rest of her face cant really fade into anything because there's nothing for it to fade into - it's all just black behind that bit - perhaps I'll extend something or create something so there is something it can properly disappear into.
-
Contrast as in make her stand out more? Wasn't the effect I was going for to be honest - she's supposed to be semi-transparent anyway, with the darker bits becoming nearly invisible - perhaps I could work on that to make it more obvious. Cheers for the comments anyway
-
Tell your sister...good stuff I've been waiting for another art topic actually - I need opinion on these two, none of them actually turned out how I wanted - you could say that a picture that meets them all half-way there is actually what I imagined. But I'd like to know what other people think And the "second attempt"

KOTOR II is the only game or anything for that matter that has kept me going till four the following morning - yeah, I know it's probably not an all-nighter, but considering I was probably playing it mostly solidly, with breaks only for washroom (and perhaps tea) since about 11 the previous morning...
