  1. Thin Lizzy - Cold Sweat That band's one more reason why I feel I'm born a little late
  2. I think you misunderstood my question - I do know what morphology and syntax are. In fact, your definitions are somewhat lacking What I wanted to know was simply what you wanted to say with the quoted sentence: That one doesn't know that 'up' is a preposition unless one looks it up in a grammar book? That it doesn't matter what 'up' means, where it is placed etc, but it matters that it in fact is a preposition? You see, that sentence still confuses me... On the other hand, we could just go back to topic.
  3. Cynic - Adam's Murmur I think I'd go to a concert of Cynic even without Opeth
  4. That is a funny thing to say. First, what do you count into 'grammar'? I agree of course in the sense that there are more phenomena with a greater amount rules in the former languages, like morphology and constructions using certain cases etc, but other things with less, like writing direction, separation of words, syntax in the sense of succession of words, punctuation... What exactly do you mean by that? I currently can't get my head around that By the way, it's interesting to see that there are grammatical problems in English - when looking at papers about computational linguistics, the English writers tend to make assumptions that are far, far too easy for most languages other than English. [edit]Oh, and should I mention the horrible prevalence of ASCII encoding?... No, that's probably off topic.
  5. nice find Yeah, I think so too This particular song isn't as jazz-y as others though. Primordial - Traitor's gate
  6. Besides the hilarious lyrics, I quite like the Massive Attack-like sound.
  7. Ah, thank you for the information
  8. There's this quest: A fire genasi in Neverwinter blacklake district wants to build a museum. You have to collect nine resources for him. I can only find eight - mithral, cold iron, harvest mead, zalathar, adamantine, darksteel, salt, knucklehead ivory. What's the ninth resource? I heard it was dragon mead, but I don't want to beleive that you have to be idiotic enough to help these black dragons to be able to finish this quest. Is there any way to get to a ninth resource now that I've slain these dragons quite a while ago?
  9. Yes, that bothers me a lot in SoZ, because there are these fights on the overland map (especially if you go for bounties that rarely seem to drop). Even if it's only 10 seconds or so, constant walk some seconds - load - fight - load - walk some seconds is frustrating.
  10. Dito OK, my language is on the level of the dark ages anyway, except for certain more advanced sound shifts, also we don't even have an imperfect past tense... This thread is a fun read
  11. In my opinion, very much so. Damn addictive. It's no comparison to MotB however: Very thin story, no chatting companions etc. But the whole trading-stuff, exploring, gathering resources, cohorts, trading posts, sightseeing, very challenging fights (if you let the AI buff itself) make it time consuming and, as said, addictive. It's just too cool moving through the jungle, switching for a short and dangerous while to your fighter / crafter who can't hide from monster but detects a bamboo-bush that he then crafts into a 'howling staff' - it's just too much fun to be bad
  12. It was the original NWN2. Things have improved since then, however there's the new and still existant bug with custom portraits. The framerate halves if any character / animal companion with a custom portrait is in the party, and you have to examine them or any item in the inventory to get the framerate back up. There are some pretty cool persistent worlds out there One problem is that it's a lot more difficult to create such worlds with the new toolset, but the results are rewarding, imo. There also seem to be problems with the DM client. Both these things result in a less active online community.
  13. True Lies
  14. I doubt there is more corruption or outdated-ness than in christian circles - simply because the religion is newer, and corruption is a normal state of being for any human. Also, do you have a link or something more substantial on the claim in the last sentence? Btw, on the topic of Islamic countries: Religion and state should never mingle. This is a very, very bad idea and always automatically causes trouble, at very least in the form of discrimination. The same is true not only for Islamic countries, but any state founded on religion. Cf. one nation under god, or our constitution which begins with something like 'In the name of god the almighty...' - which actually should be considered blasphemy and hubris by religious people.
  15. +1Oh ****. Don't let it eat you.
  16. and whatever passing along viruses has to do with this is beyond me. ... Now wait, it's not. It's a reason not to use TSLRP, am I right?
  17. Are the shadows broken? And wouldn't a game with men holding hands be banned in the US for evil sexual content?
  18. Cynic - Integral birth
  19. What Gfted1 said, I wonder too. Today I was at the Opeth concert - they were great of course. But the surprise, to me, were Cynic. Jazz metal or something Really complex stuff, even if the flow of the songs was predictable, it was all interesting. Got to listen to some of their stuff now, so good night
  20. This kind of change was, even before the invention of more or less mandatory spelling rules, and will probably always be something that is difficult to accept, and people will fight against it, and it will be in vain Fortunately, because that is what makes language an interesting field for us people studying literature and linguistics, for comedians and hobby critics. By the way, I dislike people using 'there' for 'their' or 'they're' and 'armor' for 'armour' - oh wait...
  21. Teh greatness! However, they should definitely come in a bigger scale - I want more cities Place where fish are dried, northland of the homeruler, stink onion, place by a lake...
  22. Don't drink for a week and you've got money for both of'em - worth it for sure. Ok, in NIN's case only when Reznor's in a good mood and tech plays along - but then it will be teh awesomeness! Getting pretty ecstatic even thinking about the NIN concert, lol. Or maybe it's just because I'm listening to Fields of the Nephilim - Dawnrazor (whole CD, currenty playing: Laura II)
  23. Ok, right. Why can't you run it? Hardware?
  24. The Shell - If there's a time for everything Opeth gig tomorrow, can't wait
  25. No snow here but rain unfortunately The last bits of snow lying around melted today. Now that's just mean. I'm guessing that the account got caught in amongst all the spam accounts I deleted when I logged in yesterday. Also - hello. Hi! Good to see you :D Today was an easy day, surprisingly. First thing in the morning was giving a lecture on the book I mentioned once here. Next thing was buying some plank parts to break, then training, working a few hours, cooking and eating. I don't know why it all felt so easy, but it's great Now I'm just listening to music, playing some SoZ later. I could even watch a fim, hm...
