  1. At least on PC. 6 is WAY too few. I have 23 buttons on my mouse alone. Please give me more action bar slots. Thanks!
  2. The only real gripe I have is that I want at least double the action bar slots. There is no reason to artificially limit the PC experience to 6 slots. Give me more (optionally, with a toggle in the options menu to enable a larger action bar). As for people complaining about thievery, you are the Adyran Envoy. Anyone attempting to stop you from taking their apple would cause a diplomatic incident. And you just straight up shanking someone who tried to stop you from taking their apple would not. Sure, there are a few people who might try to stop you anyway, and yeah, there are certainly people who would raise a stink if you stole from them, but for the most part, 90% of the stuff you "steal" is stuff no one would say anything about you taking because of who you are. Also...you don't HAVE to take the items if you don't want to "steal." Just a thought.
  3. Basically, IF I have a single ability point in the spell Arcane Veil, then when I press the 7 key, which is mapped to the 4th slot on my hotbar (normally the 4 key but I remapped it), I always cast Arcane Veil, regardless of if Arcane Veil is mapped to that slot or not. Further, even if I am holding a grimoire and right click, to cast from the grimoire instead of my normal hotbar, I will STILL cast Arcane Veil instead of whatever spell is supposed to be there. FURTHER, if Arcane Veil is the spell in the 4th grimoire slot, it will cast my known Arcane Veil WITHOUT the benefit of casting it from the grimoire (AKA at one level lower than it should be). In other words, if I have spent points on Arcane Veil, I cannot use my 4th hotbar slot for any other skill AND I can only ever cast it at the level of my ability points and cannot benefit from the +1 level via casting it from a grimoire. This ONLY happens with Arcane Veil and only if I have ability points spent into it. It does not matter what is in my main hand. It does not matter if I reset my points. It does not matter if I remap that hotbar slot to any other ability. Nothing seems to fix this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Just so you're aware...this was NOT fixed in the last patch...
  5. With the Steam release and everything, I'm sure the Obsidian guys are quite busy, so I want to make clear I'm NOT looking for a response from them. I'm sure they'll get to use eventually and there's no rush. That being said, I'm just curious if anyone has had their rewards updated yet, as I have not.
  6. I got the wrong rewards for sure. I got rewarded for having a level 1 character. I'm not 100% sure what my character's levels were, but I know I had two somewhere near 20 (as my goal was to get them to 21 to get that tier of rewards). I'm not 100% sure I made it there, so yeah, I don't remember exact what level my guys were, but they certainly weren't level 1. PFID-ABEC895F5544691E
  7. They have already started talking about 1.5? Links to these posts?
  8. in my game, it was increasing the amount by the stated value, not the actual value.
  9. Yeah, this is a HUGE problem with the current buff/debuff system. Basically, one of your characters gets charmed/dominated for a long time (10+ seconds) and it's basically all over. Sure, you can cast a 6th level priest spell (and, AFAIK) literally nothing else, to help protect against it, and there are some VERY minor bonuses against it you can get if you feel like sacrificing an entire talent. But seriously, all it takes is one lucky roll from a high level enemy and suddenly you have no AoE cause they charmed your druid/wizard. Suddenly your tank is no longer guarding your squishies and all the enemies he was engaging just saunter on by and slap your priest upside the head. And don't get me wrong, I get that Charm/Dominate are supposed to be powerful. I get that. But there is literally no way to "fix" the problem once it happens. Waiting and hoping for the best/reloading is not a valid solution. I should have SOME tool, no matter how limited, that allows me to "fix" the problem if applied correctly. That tool does not exist currently...even if I prepare ahead of time. And that's a massive issue (among many other massive issues this game has when you get down to the nitty gritty).
  10. So I am about to fight some guys that like to charm. I've tried the fight once and noticed that my Wizard LOVES to get charmed even with Prayer Against Treachery running. And Suppress Affliction doesn't work on my Wizard, cause he's now an foe and the friendly AoE of Suppress Affliction doesn't work on foes (a HUGE problem, IMO, with the way the game handles spells, but that's a topic for another thread). So I'm like, **** it, I'll throw up Suppress Affliction BEFORE he gets charmed. He'll get charmed, but the affliction will be suppressed cause he already has the spell running...but NOPE! For some reason, Charm still works. He still has Suppress Affliction running, but he is also Charmed. So either Charm/Dominate > All, which is awful (which is the topic for another thread) and Suppress Affliction just isn't that useful, or this is a bug. Anyone know which?
  11. I am running a Hearth Orlan priest of Skaen right now. He's gone full melee at this point, with all his talents dedicated to making him better at stabbing things. It's nice, because he's right up close anyway, so when he needs to cast a spell, for whatever reason, he's right where he needs to be. Also, he does pretty awesome damage with stiletto/club combo (Oidhreacht and Dial Ewn Dibata at the moment). Sided with the Doemenels and was pleasantly surprised to see more crit damage multiplier, so now I'm trying to decide if, now that I have access to the stuff in Twin Elms, go double club or double stiletto. The -3 DR is nice, but +5 extra Acc seems REALLY good when I get +1.8 damage mod from crits... But yeah, it's working out REALLY well. I'm only playing on Hard, but I have a VERY story based build (15/8/10/15/15/15) with Slave background, cause Skaen, and it's been really fun so far.
  12. So if you stick, a stack of items into the trade window (say 5 lockpicks), and you remove some of the lockpicks from the trade window, but not all from the stack, the value of the trade does not go down, and you get the full value, even though you aren't selling the full stack. In other words, each lockpick is worth 12 coppers. So 5 of them are worth 60 coppers. If you stick 5 lockpicks in a single stack into a trade window and press the Trade button, you will receive 60 coppers. If, instead, you take 4 lockpicks back out of the trade window and then press the Trade button, you will still get 60 coppers. I tried this with quite a few other items (pelts, horns, potions, herbs, etc), and it's bugged like this with all of them.
  13. This is 100% a thing. Lost two summon items (the little tokens that summon stuff and are super rare and expensive) and a BUNCH of scrolls before I realized what was happening...
  14. This may or may not be the truth. We don't have any way to know for sure. We can either take the Backer at his word and call it a day until Obsidian asks for more money for something else, or we can fight a lost cause in the name of someone who isn't interested in fight anymore. This one's done, for now, but again, next time Obsidian comes calling for cash, well, I got a loooooooooong memory...
  15. So apparently the backer is fine with things the way they are. Fine. This is the last I'll mention it. But I'll be taking a good hard look at who's involved with any future projects Obsidian may or may not produce. Some people, who I was very unsure of to begin with, have lost any trust I had in them previously because of their actions during this whole fiasco. And if they're involved, well, I can't be sure my money's actually going towards a good project that's going to be what it's supposed to be or not. To the Devs, you got a traitor in your midst, selling you out to a bunch of moral reactionaries who don't care about your game or your product, who don't buy or play video games, and who only want to see the world turn into a dark, unfun, politically correct nightmare of their own design. Think long and hard about who directs your projects from now on, or you might find that it's more than just a 100%, completely innocent (if tasteless/tacky) joke that gets cut to appease the nutjobs on Tumblr/Twitter.
  16. From what people have been saying on other threads, it seems that a new game is required to get the new stats if you've already recruited someone.
  17. I don't think I'm really qualified to give you scores, but you might reconsider the "No scores lower than 10" thing. A 9 or an 8 isn't really "min/maxing" but can add flavor to the character (so and so is slightly less intelligent than average or slightly less hardy, etc).
  18. So far it seems like people are seeing little to no changes to companion stats...sadface...that was the thing I was most hoping for.
  19. Can anyone confirm the changes to the companions? And no, AFAIK, Steam does not have an internal patch checking system like other services do. The Devs can push whatever they want thru the client whenever they want to.
  20. I think the thing that the majority of commenters are missing is that PoE isn't HARD because of camping supply limits...it's BORING. This is a sentiment I can get behind. Prestidigitator isn't asking for unlimited camping supplies because he NEEDS to rest more often, but because he is BORED of his wizard auto-attacking. Auto-attacking is doing fine, and he is able to beat the game on PotD WITHOUT the extra rests. He'd just like to have the extra rests so his Wizard can do something BESIDES auto-attack in most battles. This has NOTHING to do with difficulty and EVERYTHING to do with combat being SUPER boring with the limited spells a Wizard has. As for the OP of this thread, AnarchyJesus, he IS having problems with the difficulty...because he is SOLOING the game. As in he has no party members but his character. Of COURSE he's gana have to rest a LOT more than normal. And that means that he's gana have to go back to town a LOT more than normal, which means a LOT more of his game time is busy work, totally pointless, and a complete waste of time. No wonder he wants a mod that allows him to rest more often. So yeah, seriously, to all the people out there telling those asking for a mod to "get better at the game" or "suck less," you're reading comprehension skills are really lacking.
  21. Well, I mean, if we're listing our pie-in-the-sky dreams: Complete rework of the Attributes system so that every character doesn't have one of two builds without gimping themselves in combat. End to Engagement or MUCH smarter AI (either will work fine and fix the problem) Companion characters that are actually good at their job Ability to respec, even if it's limited in some way Solo stealth End to current camping mechanics and the addition of something more meaningful and less of a chore (like random encounters) Ability to pre-cast spells before combat Okay, so now that that's out of the way, things that I'd like to see in an xpac that might actually happen: More Stronghold interactivity. Already included content is great, but more more more please. It's one of the novel features in this game that actually works. More meaningful crafting, maybe allowing us to put together some legendary weapons of yore involving quests for rare mats and such Obviously more companions and more stories and more landmasses of various types More varied enemy types...give us Aberrant/Cthulhu style horrors from the deep! :D
  22. I feel all I can add to this conversation is that this game was sold, especially early, on the idea that it would be a decent spiritual successor to the IE games. And, on the surface, it is exactly that. Sadly, as soon as you slip below the surface, it's anything but. It's a standard, modern RPG with IE window dressing. That doesn't make it a bad game. It has plenty of redeeming qualities. But as someone who Kickstarted the game BECAUSE it was sold on the idea that it would be a decent spiritual successor to the IE games, I am more than a little disappointed. It certainly didn't scratch the itch that I've had since Throne of Bhaal. And, as many people pointed out, the shape the mechanics went in is largely based on the direction Sawyer took with the game, for better or for worse. I, personally, will be looking at anything he does in the future with a LOT more skepticism (or not at all based on the whole backer tombstone kerfuffle).
  23. If you plan on healing/buffing/debuffing/not tanking/not punching things, Might doesn't need to be NEARLY that high. Now if you're gana throw your priest into the front line and have it smash stuff with a mace or if your gana use the damaging spells more than very occasionally, a 16 might is a great idea. But if not, you can probably tone it down (quite) a bit and be fine. Otherwise, if you're not looking to min/max, you're doing fine, IMO. More Dex certainly wouldn't hurt, but again, if you're not planning on DPSing with him, you could steal those points from Might.
  24. Con really isn't needed for anyone. It's nice to have on anyone, but the effects are pretty small. You wouldn't want to have a penalty if you're trying to tank, and monks obviously need more than most since they have to take damage to use their abilities, but 8-10 for non-tanks and 10-12 for tanks is plenty. For a chanter tank, 10 is probably fine, since they they have mediocre base endurance/health (and Con adds a %, so good base means better returns), but then again you might want to give them a little extra padding by any means necessary. Kinda up to you. 2-4 points isn't going to make or break you either way unless you're playing on Path of the Damned. Also, check out this thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/74003-chanter-chants-invocations-and-stats/ for some interesting thoughts/experiments with chanters and stats. Might help you find the extra stat points you're looking for.
  25. So this would mean that Int has a MUCH lessened effect on Chanters...interesting. This just even more solidifies their role as tanks, IMO. You can keep Int much lower than you would on, say, a Wizard or Priest without hurting the duration of your buffs/debuffs from your Chants or the duration of your summons. And since Dex seems to basically have no effect on them unless they are using actual weapons, you can dump the crap out of Dex. You should then be able to max Resolve and Perception (for tanking) and still have plenty left over for Might so that any damaging Invocations you want to use still pack a decent punch. Thanks for the info, Faydark.
