Come on now. Everyone can just hear "Touch Myself" playing over their speakers as Atton Rand first appears in the game. Vader's got the Imperial March, Maul's got Duels of Fate (or whatever it was called) and Atton's got Touch Myself.

I'd think that's rather obvious by asking yourself another question: What does Microsoft gain from the PC release? The answer is nothing. You can't use the theory that because Windows is a Microsoft product, that a PC version will help sell Windows, mainly because the chances of someone buying an entirely new computer just to play KOTOR 2 is slim to none, especially when you figure that new computer needs all the specs such as graphics card upgrades and RAM upgrades, which will cost the buyer over $1500 when alls said and done. Now ask yourself this: What does Microsoft gain from an XBox exclusive release (ie. XBox exclusive during the Christmas period)? Everything. XBox will be competing with PS2 for sales this Christmas. Which means that if someone wants to play KOTOR 2, the deciding factor between purchasing an XBox or a PS2 is that XBox is the only system that can play KOTOR2, since the PC version is not an option. In other words, instant sales. If there was a simultaneous release, the people who are leaning towards a PS2 purchase who also already own a PC, can do so now since they know that even if they can't get KOTOR for the PS2, they have the PC alternative. Do I have exact sales projections to back that up? No, but it doesn't take too much to calculate XBox (where Microsoft WILL make some money) versus a PC release (where Microsoft will make NO money).

They only ever say that the US xbox version is out in December, and the last time I checked, Canada claimed that it was a different country. Maybe there's been a war? I doubt it though. At least you guys at Obsidian care enough to explain the situation, thx. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's actually a good question. Does the US release automatically include Canada? Or is the fact they said "US" release, not "North American" release an indication that Canada will get the shaft like Europeans do.

I've been pretty much sticking to the Books section on the official forums, mainly because as you said, KOTOR discussion is pretty much non existant right now. I've probably got about 2 and a half months left on the forums until I start avoiding them when the XBox version is released and we see hundreds of "OMG did you see such and such?" or "OMG I can't believe that's who the masked sith is!".

It'll turn out that Atton Rand is a cyborg, like those chicks in Austin Powers, and he turns on you, firing lasers out of his bare chested nipples.

Republic Commando is set to be released AFTER Kotor2. So that part of your post is invalid. It was pushed back to february which, while still about the same time as KOTOR for the PC, is 2 months after the Xbox.

I think the fact that it's a sequel to a successful game, they might figure it doesn't need as much exposure, whereas these new games will need some hype to get people excited about them.

I thought the double damage was from power strike...or maybe not. What was the advantage of power strike then? This is one of the reasons I hope Obsidian releases a MUCH more detailed manual with the game. Bioware's manual was absolutely useless in terms of detailing important details.

Chances are that if Coruscant is included, it'll be more than just the Jedi Temple. Coruscant has a big undercity that could be similar to the undercity in Taris, but much larger. It could definitely add variety if that was included. I'd hate for them to include Coruscant, but only allow us to visit the Jedi Temple. But maybe that's just me.

I never actually saw the benefit of the critical strike. It didn't seem to do too much that a normal attack didn't accomplish. Maybe I just didn't pay close enough attention to my opponents' energy bars or something.

I still say this is the best poll ever.

I know it's not the most powerful, but I always thought that flurry/rapid shot looked the best, so I enjoyed using it the most.

I'm still not sure I'd like to see Coruscant in the game, mainly because it'll be next to impossible to capture all there is to know about Coruscant in the game, unless Obsidian's prepared to dedicate a HUGE area to it (think Taris, then multiply that by about 10).

Those who keep posting that we're "whining" have it stuck in their head that it's because we don't get to play it for 2 months later. Nothing will convince them otherwise.
