  1. KOTOR had 10 as well, even though the first one you meet doesn't really mean much. Perhaps it's the same with KOTORII... that would make a lotta sense.
  2. as the "questions to devs" thread is dying with nonsense, i'll post this question separately: how is the transition to prestige going to take place? in kotor, the player had to decide at the jedi temple. will there be a similar moment regarding the choice of prestige classes? will the character have to go prestige? or will it be possible to not choose a prestige class and continue in the same class. how will prestige classes change the character (meaning his abilities, reaction of others towards him, his fighting style, appearance...)? are companions going to be able to pick prestige classes as well? that would require prestige classes for other classes (scoundrel, soldier...) as well, right? what will happen to other characters while progressing into prestige? if the level cap is at 20 with other classes, companions won't progress any further and are likely to be kindda useless if the ain't jedi themselves. it'd be nice if you could answer to any of those questions.
  3. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!! DEATH TO EWOKS!!!
  4. sounds good. but then again, you could filter stuff in kotor, too. its just that the filtering didnt work or make much sense. (on PC)
  5. Qui-Gon Jinn was practically impaled by Darth Mual's lightsaber. He sure as hell looked like he died from a lightsaber wound to me. <_< Cheers! weheeeelll... if I was a sith lord, i wouldn't just pull the saber back out, y'see? I'd pull it out sideways, ripping ol' qui-gon open. but that's just ol' me i guess. he could've sold tons of darth maul pinatas though. i thought they'd digitally put the internals back in for the mexican market- but nooooooooo. aww.
  6. heya- made a search, couldn't find anything related, so here it goes: are there going to be bags, utility belts or backpacks in kotor2? should there be? it'd be nice to have containers in the inventory because it sucked having to scroll down for ages just to find what i needed. also, certain items (for example datapads) should be grouped and make up their own category. "usable items" might have been a neat idea at the time, but these categories didn't really help. yes- i know the equipment wasn't located on party members but was within an "equipment pool" instead, but having containers would solve some issues. (put your grenades into a "grenade bag" and such...)
  7. there are humans with special traits in star wars. for example, correllians are listed as having special qualities that other humans don't have. well, at least as far as the rpg sources go...
  8. noting that most said "Absolutely" here... @ opus: well yeah, he was sliced in half, but even with the cauterization- shouldn't his guts have been falling all over the place? B)
  9. Hopefully, they'll correct this issue for the sequels. yeah, i hope so, too. would give the whole thing a little more depth. *g* YOU wouldn't mind it *I* wouldn't mind it... unfortunately, i guess the majority would. *sigh* there was the cavern complex with the insanely amounts of mindflayers. i saved during, before and after combat and it took hours over hours over... yeah- too much combat can really start to become annoying. you're completely right. Nope, none at all. As shown in the movies, blaster bolts are considerably slower then a normal projectile weapon (as slow as an arrow even), and bullets can't be deflected either. again, there's nothing in the movies that supports this- there's no scene with blaster shots and projectiles so that a direct comparison would be possible. I've been basing my assumption on the star wars rpg. it's perfectly possible there (see my post above) huh? what do you mean? you mean heavy weapons? that's what i would've thought, too- but lucas thinks otherwise. anyway, i can see some of the skills (especially sense and battlemind) be of use- but only if the jedi is actually in a commaning position, rallying the troops. a jedi fighting up front would rather look like the arena scene in episode2. i don't know how many of them actually arrived, but there were only a handful left at the end. you're right, but then again, there were no major battles in kotor. only little fights. the party missed out on the mass combat, so there was no point in including those i guess.
  10. where did you get that one? (just asking outta curiousity) i could see them if they would glow- in fact, i CAN see ammunition that leaves a glow behind. dunno what it's called but they use them to aim into target at night besides, projectile speeds are pretty much known- they don't travel that fast.
  11. I didn't say another Torment game, i said another Torment, as in, another game of that order... mmm. a game of that order would really be great- who needs licensed settings? if you've got a team with such a good record, it'd be worthwhile to come up with something that makes the fans go nuts with anticipation.
  12. if you play classless point-based systems, you won't have a problem with that. force-sensitivity would depend on a stroke of luck (game master rolls when you create your character. if you're force sensitive, you may become a jedi or a force adept, else you may not)- kindda like in galaxies. though i must admit that i do not know of a good system that might reflect what i just wrote.
  13. ??? deflect refers to the ability of a jedi to deflect blaster bolts with his saber. if you can hit a blaster bolt with your saber, then you can hit any other projectile as well. who says a blaster is "slower"? there weren't any projectlies in the movies except the ewok and gungan weapons. i don't want to go into the science of this stuff here since star wars is more fantasy than science fiction, but melting bullets hardly seems to be a problem. if you go with the star wars rpg, a jedi can deflect any projectile that is "less-than-starfighter" sized. so, any projectiles from personal weapons may be deflected. same goes with grenades, though many grenades (not all of them) are likely to explode.
  14. "we have to go to korriban. i have to save dustil." "carth... i'm sorry, but your son is dead." "no, no, you don't understand... we have to go to korriban. i have to save dustil." "he's DEAD, carth. dustil is dead." "no- we have to go to korriban. i have to-" *sigh*
  15. hey- that sounds really good. it'd also be nice to place bets on swoop races besides having to participate in them. i figure someone in the galaxy might be interested to buy the lucky bike of a champion. you know- a hutt collector approaching and giving money for your old scrap. it'd be a nice way to make some additional cash for new items.
  16. My exact thoughts on the KOTOR romances... what do you want? have the character and the NPCs go out for dinner first? make a little walk in the park? go watch the moons of tattoine and chill in a bar? do you want them to talk for hours about their favourite colours? wake up- it's a game. just use your imagination and assume that all this stuff is happening while the group is travelling along. <_<
  17. can someone move this to way-off topic?
  18. a jedi counselor is effectively a character that doesn't concentrate on combat. though i must admit that kotor couldn't really reflect that. same goes for jedi scholars, jedi healers etc. true, but the problem that arises in a computer game is the necessity to increase dialogue and non-combat interaction as to make avoiding combat possible. otherwise, people will have to save and load their games VERY often. in normal RPG, this is possible. one hit with a blaster. you're gone that would be an artificial restriction. this ain't medieval fantasy (no- you're a wizard, you can't wear armor. now blow off) some more interesting weapons would be fine. but- if a jedi can deflect a blaster shot, he can very well deflect projectiles.
  19. Ok, this is going too far. Why not remove swoop bikes althogheter ?!? This is KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC, i want to swing my light saber and save the universe, i don't care for swoop races. It's a retarded idea originated by the terrible prequels to boot, enought already, the devs have FAR more important things to worry about, and i remind you that Lucas Art didn't exactly gave them an eternity to make this game. At contrary, they are on a very short leash, would you really want them to waist time on a swoop bike Add On ?!? Are you out of your mind. ?!? you don't have to say something just for the sake of saying it, you know. if you look carefully, i hinted at morrowind. there, the devs made the game and then followed up with an ADD-ON later on. i didn't say anything about swoop bikes being a necessity, BUT this topic IS on swoop bikes. besides, the team has already stated that they are going to be in the game. btw, no, i am perfectly sane.
  20. http://www.members.tripod.com/~Adam_P_B/starwarshands/ just to get some ideas- why do you even want robotic limbs?
  21. why not develop an extra swoop game and make it an add-on to kotor2? whoever wants to swoop, swoops. whoever doesn't, won't buy the add-on. morrowind-style.
  22. man, you really ARE terrible. that sig... that avatar... my eyes are bleeding
  23. ...or at least have patches that expand NPC interaction if you fall short of time.
  24. well- i was a counselor and had force breach. after i got rid of his "power sources", he was quite easy to beat. just like your regular dark jedi master. *sigh*
  25. the only characters that seemed shallow or inadequate to me were t3, mission and zaalbar. t3 didn't do anything but being a high-tech equipment- no personality whatsoever. mission was pretty good in the beginning, but faded into the background later on. zaalbar... we'll she was right about him. he wasn't much of a conversationalist. "so... do you have anything to say?" "nope." "so... do you have anything to say?" "nope." "so... do you have anything to say?" "nope." i tried this on every planet a couple of times. until i got fed up with the furball. it was quite fun to get rid of him on the starforge.
