  1. A wild guess is that it has something to do with chinese traditional religions. Its probably disrespectful from some standpoint. That would be the only thing that makes any sort of sense. I don't think that making a company cover up bones for an all-ages game is any different than making them cover up nipples for an all-ages game. Different socities have different notions of acceptable.
  2. China is doing a number of things in regards to online gaming. The first is measures to limit online play time for all MMORPGS: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4183340.stm In July 2007, the company that runs WoW in China added a patch that removed skeletons from the game. They said this was their decision. http://www.china.org.cn/english/entertainment/216622.htm This year, Blizzard dropped the company running WoW in China for a new one, which meant the game had to be reapproved. This took six weeks: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/China-Wor...-Game,8415.html Kutatu has a visual of the changes.

  4. I don't register the last panel (frame is the film term) as a punch line because it's not. It's the same absurdist situation as the previous panels while a punch line has to add new information or viewpoint. It works because it
  5. Plasma, not photon. You may have won this battle, but I will win the war!
  6. I guess they didn't want to compete with Alpha Protocol.
  7. That's rather harsh. You seem a bit cranky today. I don't think it's doing anything new with it's classes. There are four base classes, and at level ten, you decide on one of two specilizations. Aion is popular because it's from the makers of Lineage and because people in China can't play WoW.
  8. The console version of Dragon Age has been delayed 14 days. There are some people on the Bioboard claming that this means an utter loss of momentum and sales.
  9. It's mostly popular in Korea and China.
  10. No. In fact, some would suggest you avoid ending sentences with prepositions.
  11. As far as I know, every Star Wars book has murder. I have tried to pick up Star Wars books on occasion, but it seems everything that happens after the movies has to have Luke and Co. as main characters. I wish they'd kill them off, or leap a hundred years into the future (no force ghosts!), or something. I
  12. I believe you are not familiar with The people at BioWare were very upset when the MAKO concept demo was leaked.
  13. As Deathtroopers comes out in October, you might want to add that you're just guessing when it comes to the book's content. I will say, that the dead coming back to eat the living sounds a great deal like space zombies to me. I'm going to agree with this.
  14. I'm going to answer this in reverse order. 2. It was a set up. 1. The Prince does it because he wants everyone to know how generous he was. If you die, it's no biggie. Others do it because vampire society isn't as large as the real world. Jenette might act like she's powerful, but she likely only has two vampires and a bunch of ghouls working under her. You can assume that all the vampires you meet in the game represent 50-80% of all the vampires in the area.
  15. I think a discussion about maturity in video games will usually lead to failure. I
  16. BG was about the PC. BGII was about Irinicus. The only reason the PC and Imoen were involved was because they had useful bits.
  17. Which really doesn't invalidate the game in any way. Third time I've said it. I assume you're repeating yourself as a way to make up for responding to something I didn't say. Or maybe you just enjoy saying the same thing over and over again?
  18. While other aspects of the game might have been mature, the Witcher's handling of human sexuality wasn't. It was quite possible to end up having sex with a woman without even intending to do so.
  19. Geralt from the book is not a man'ho. They just made him one in the game so it would be popular. I doubt it's that grim when it's unionized. Every state literally has brothels. I assume you're in a state where it's legalized. Why, we could be neighbors! If your dog gets within ten feet of my lawn again, I'm going to shoot it.
  20. In Arcanum, the local brothel had a sheep in the back. In Fallout 2, if you lost an arm-wrestling match, you ended up tied naked to a bed with a rubber ball in your mouth. I don't recall any outcry over either of these events, and I doubt they were included to make the games 'dark and edgy.' I don
  21. I tried to play Left4Dead on Normal mode and DIED. *sigh* This sucking thing is hard.
  22. I'm not sure what that has to do with weapons not having clips though. Watching people fire weapons without clips is like watching people drive around in cars without wheels. It didn't have anything to do with lack of weapon clips; I was talking about unlimited ammo. I think it's possible to provide challenges and difficulty while still following the various unrealistic conceits of the spy thriller genre, e.g, the character has unlimited ammo until a dramatically appropriate time, at which point he runs out, and must survive the situation through other means.
  23. A vaguely related fact: brothel workers in Ferelden have a guild. I assume this is a dwarven influence.
