  1. That sounds like fun! Do you mind if I join you? I hadn't actually thought about that aspect of purchasing this game. Woo! Also, tin case? Are we talking official steelbook or one of the cheaper knock offs? If it's a real steelbook then I'm definitely picking up the CE. You hear that Obsidian! Steelbook = sale! Now where is my Alpha Protocol steelbook announcement huh? Wait -- you're supposed to PLAY a game before complaining about it online? That can't be right.
  2. I plan on getting ME 2, but it's not coming out until Spring 2010 as far as I know. There's no information yet on whether DA:O will be on Steam. I believe EA has their own download store.

  4. So, are you this much of a **** in the real world, or do you save it for online?
  5. I'll pick up Dragon Age, and when I'm finished with that, I'll see which game has the best reviews.
  6. Explain. The thrust of the game is navigating environments as fast as you can. Usually because cops are chasing you. Instead of a car, you're a person. Instead of a flat, ugly track, you have a series of buildings that you're jumping and running through painted in strong monochromatic blocks. Instead of
  7. Overlord 2 was fun. Though the story wasn't as good as the first one. I'm enjoying Mirror's Edge right now. It's a racing game for people who don't like racing games.
  8. I found it difficult to believe that BioShock won 50 Best Game awards until I remembered that everyone gives Best Game awards and usually in 12 different catagories.
  9. Is that a good **** or a bad ****?
  10. They are all good games but for different reasons. That is, unless your litmus test for RPGs is 'Is this almost exactly like a game I played ten years ago?' they are good games.
  11. Could you mean that Mass Effect is a space opera? Hard science fiction means a work that focuses on the physics, chemistry, and engineering. Soft science fiction is one that focuses on biology, sociology, and psychology. Neither term implies intellectual rigorousness. The Cold Equation is a popular example of hard sci-fi, but it
  12. Don't forget the "kiss the hawt alien chick" option. Which would be the worse mix-up? Situation 1: Hawt Alien: Love you so much, blah, blah, together forever, blah, blah.. [interrupt R1?] Player: Yeah, let's get to the alien lovin'! [Pushes Interrupt] Shepard: I am too angsty for love! *punches Hawt Alien in the face* Player: Noooooo! Situation 2: Evil-Traitor-Wrex: And now Shepard, I will have my revenge, blah, blah, but first I
  13. 1. I don't believe they gave away the story. 2. I don't care about the 'interrupt system' in conversation. I wish they'd stop presenting being a murderous a-hole as the height of role-playing. 3. Gah, I hate you John Shep I'm not sure how it could be one.
  14. Bike handles.
  15. Could you provide a link?
  16. Seems I hit a sore spot. I would never suggest that the wise and mature gamers who contribute to our community are 'old.' They are experienced.
  17. LA didn't say that it was one of their old franchises. They could be bringing back Quest for Glory! Or Wizardry!
  18. Because if they stole the game from a store and get caught, they'd get a slap on the wrists. If they infringe the copyright and get caught, they'll might have to play a $180,000 fine. Your suggestion is akin to saying that the difference between manslaughter and first degree murder is one of semantics. Strawman argument. Especially given that current definitions of stealing are slowly molding to include theft of intellectual property. Probably because in the context of software piracy, people I believe you're confused about what 'strawman argument' means. In a strawman argument, I create a position for you and then argue against it. As your quote shows, your position is that the difference between infringement and stealing is a semantical one. Mine is that in the eyes of the law, these two are different crimes, and as we're talking about an illegal activity, legal definitions matter.
  19. Would you like me to send you a save file right after that?
  20. Cause Gorth can SET YOU UP. In the scene, he's known as G-cr4kr. You know that thing where you move a jumper wire from the IC2 ROM chip to the other side of the C4 pin with an Atari 2600? Gorth invented that!
  21. I still haven't gotten around to beating that game. I almost managed it one time, but then I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do and did something stupid and ended up trapping myself. Hmmm... I believe there's only one place where you can trap yourself. It's when the older man asks you to step into the book and you don't. Is that what happened?
  22. I understood it. Because if they stole the game from a store and get caught, they'd get a slap on the wrists. If they infringe the copyright and get caught, they'll might have to play a $180,000 fine. Your suggestion is akin to saying that the difference between manslaughter and first degree murder is one of semantics. Your little, red X is VERY persuasive.
  23. I tend to like combinations of peanut butter and chocolate or raspberry and chocolate.
