How bout some more realistic and believable ones than IGN promoted. Any suggestions guys & girls? ( Not just RPGs.)

half-life 2 is just head and shoulders above doom 3, doom ran out of new ideas by the 4th level, theres only so many times you can pick up something and have an imp spawn behind you and it will seem exciting, also the game was soo bloody dark it just wasn't scary, try annoying half-life 2 had superior graphics, an actual physics system, superior level design, superior AI, better weapons, a far better storyline and better way of storytelling and had tonnes of new ideas in every level its a bit of a no brainer really <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I liked doom3 and half life 2 cept the ending. As for graphics they both had different things that made them good (see vampire masquared for same halflife 2 engine). As for my brain, space invaders in the 80s rotted that away.

-------------------------- I would say a real gamer actually recognises ground breaking work, can play for days non-stop and doesn't believe or go along with the surrounding hype of new substandard games before forming his/her own opinion. I never said all the games should be rpg only and (as the post above says) most gamers are 20+. As for the "so what attitude" that is why the gaming industry has become what it has become, unfinished on released, overpriced betas.

The conditions for actual entry onto the list was somewhat limited and when similar games and series of games get onto the list you have to wonder at what kind of 5 year old judged it. Also very limited criterion for judgement seems to be used as well as a narrow view of what constitutes a best game of all time. It also is limited to primarily console games. Two thoughts remain though: 1) Why doom3 is so far below half life 2 given that they IMHO two very great gaming experiences for different reasons and were released at the same time? I'd like to think that because most of the people who voted have not played doom3 on a good PC though surprising since half-life 2 required one it is puzzling. 2) Not (m)any MMORPGs on it so obviously lots of people just play for months on end continuously cause they are rubbish games. I would say that the list was paid by the sponsors of IGN to produce a biased list, after all IGN has to pay the bills too, with real gamers sneaking in things of the ilk of FFIII and Secret of Mana type classics to try to show that the voices of real gamers and not just the corporate bull will be heard.

I'd quite like it if you had a feat/option that would allow your character to hold a blaster in the offhand and fence with your lightsaber in the other, at the same time.

Ah yes the X-Box, best and most expensive door stopper I ever purchased. You mean you buy games for it beyond Halo, then moan about not being able to have a buggy game fixed? I thought that the whole point of consoles was that they're all the same so much less time was needed on testing different configurations unlike individual PCs, hence there should be no bugs at all unless there was no testing at all. Also, given it's Microsoft maybe you should expect things on it to be a little substandard bug/programming wise. "UNIX-BOX" that's what you should have got. "Free the code - open source"

Did anyone notice how many QA testers there were for this game posted in the end credits? I watched it again yesterday and it seems that there are not many at all. I recall that there seemed to be about twice as many voice actors as there were testers. Heres a suggestion Obsidian, why not release a free time limited beta (or individual parts of a beta) version to 100 or so potential customers to provide free feedback before general PC release. Most will go on to buy and mod/fix the fully released game anyway. Got to love the last line of the credits though "A very special thanks to George Lucas" Yeah thanks Georgie for another overpriced starwars related piece of...Phantom Menace when we were expecting Empire Strikes Back. Does he even know what his company is doing with the franchise? Starwars the TV series.. Actually I got the 1.0b patch and some of Aurora's mods and the game increased in playability and enjoyment so I'd recommend them to anyone who had a bad experience with the game first time through. And I will say, though others probably will have said it before "DONT LEAVE DANTOOINE TIL LAST" - yes I had the second visit bug and had to delete files to get off the ship without the game crashing.

Didn't GL say putting midichlorians into episode 1 turned into a really big headache for him with fan questions and he freely admits it was a mistake made by the scriptwriters.
