No i don't think the goverment is the only thing that can help the human condition. Heck even dishwashers have helped that!
-
You look at the government as something detached from society. The government is the people of the United states, we have the vote!!! Governed FOR the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE! Government has the capacity to do good for its people just as it does bad. I see you've already lost hope in government and democracy though so why i waste my time with you in this discussion is beyond me. But if you think the government only screw things up, and the the human condition can't get better your wrong i believe. Along with the many bad things our government has done we have also made libraries, schools, have donated tons of money and supplies to help human suffering from around the world, have funded science to help cure diseases and other conditions. Its helped the independent woman, slavery has been abolished in the US. I could go on and on.

Its bull **** that I'm helping pay for some guy on welfare to have free health care with my tax dollars, yet I cannot afford it myself. I work 40 hours a week and I can barely afford to pay my rent. Yet Tweedle de and dum and their 5 children get free health care because he procreates. Not to mention all my tax dollars I've paid that goes to my government health insurance for its employees. Thats right, I'm one of the 20% without it, yet still pay taxes, and I pay for my own college tuition(part time). "how uniquely American!" Wow this guy is a go getter right? Well I'm tired, and worn out, I don't get any kind of benefits, and If something physically happens to me, Ill get kicked out of my apartment, and have a medical care bill the size of George Bush's fat wallet complements from the HMO's. If the government can't help me get health care, and society doesn't give a care unless i have the money, then what is a young man suppose to do? Who cares though, i just want it because it would benefit me, thats human nature, selfishness. I'm so selfish because i want my health.

GDP is not what the government makes. GDP is what the entire country makes, private industry included. it's actually more like 20% since our current GDP is $13T and tax revenues are $2.4T. the US _can_ afford health care, and we are already paying for it. the question is whether or not the government can, and the answer is no, at least not with out resorting to even more socialism. taks Democrats have the house and Congress, its only a matter of time till they have the white house for 8 years. Universal health care might actually come, logically its possible.

It was PG, come on! Maybe PG13, but definitely PG.

greed = competition, which improves quality. moore's conjecture is nothing but hogwash. pharmaceuticals are only a very small portion of the overall healthcare system, and newsflash, the US is paying the bill for new drugs due to all the rest of the hand-out states in the world. nice try, but why don't you try to actually post something pertinent next time. it's always about big, greedy corporations to you fools. you just don't get it. taks When the competition starts to talk to each other they form a team, and now that team is kicking the US citizens ass. Greed = suffering. They've raised the prices of health care to unpardonable heights. The privatized health care system bought us back in the Nixon era and they've been shoving bills in the politicians pocket since. The problem started with greed and its ended with heartache.

I don't know better, can you share your story? Who doesn't get free coverage?

Government is a necessary evil, its for the peoples protection. With health care HMO's ripping the US off with sky rocketing prescription prices, and services, the bid to buy off politicians, kill people, and make them in a financial debt that is unforgivable... We need protection against them. Everybody agrees health care is important just like our schools. Why can't we give health care to everyone too? Lets not forget that our government ran public schools do better on average then the private ones. Profit shouldn't be everything.

So Gorgon, how is your experience living with universal health care in Scandinavia? Is it horrible, are you all soviets? How long is the wait, what is the mentality in the hospitals, how much are prescriptions, what are the pros and cons?
-
Guard dog, Micheal Moore goes over what your talking about, not in great lengths though.

I didn't notice any deceitful lies in the documentary. He is talking to real people with real problems. He is going to real countries asking people for their real opinions. What makes this documentary exaggerated?

clicky Its 2 hours long. Tell me what you think. I knew of the problem, but not the extent.

Learning about logic without its empirical cousin involved is like learning historical facts on the carebears, who gives a $$$$.

I beat oblibion also, with the expansion pack side quests also. Ohhhhh yea. I thinjk i finished at level 34. The most valuable skill was illusion. Turn invisible and do a sneak strike with an enchanted weapon. Or you a firebll staff that makes everyone fal within a good distance. I was kinda dissapointed in the reward for beating the game, boo.

Hmm, the origin of ethics... Well that probably rooted from the capacity for empathy right? And whenever empathy evolved in man/woman. Heres an oldie stolen from the OBSIDIAN Vaults compliments of Meta.

How did that first thing move then, random chance, or by a complex intelligent being? What are you implying?

BREAKING NEWS: Iranian Ex-Presidential Sex Scandal

I think he meant to smack her but the woman had faster reflexes and blocked it by a hand shake. -
What got the ball rolling? what if the ball was always rolling, crashing, colliding, and combining? God doesn't have to be the unmoved mover. Why is an intelligent designer the only mechanism to find compatibility in the universe? With Occam's Razor, its much more plausible that the cosmos can find compatibility through random particles crashing and combining. What is congruent will harmonize, and what is non-congruent will never be. This method works to find compatibility, and no Intelligent designer is needed, thus the blind watchmaker.

For Gods sake (no pun intended) Sand, Bush only vetoed FEDERAL FUNDING of stem cell research. And he was correct to do so, albeit not for the reasons he actually did it. I never read a phrase in the Constitution anywhere that stated is was Uncle Sam's job to promote, fund, aid, or hinder scientific research of any kind. Stem Cell research still goes on through private funding. Mostly paid for by the "big evil pharmaceutical" companies. You do know our military budget alone is over a half trillion dollars right? There are so many problems with this administration I'm not even going to bother arguing it. For those who still defend it, thanks a lot.

Ghost Rider. If this movie was made 20 years ago i bet it would be pretty cool. With that said, it sucked. Lines, acting, plot, style. Wasn't my cup of tea.
