  1. My family are all Christians though, so it is definitely religious to them, at least presumably. I'm not affiliated with a religion, but i do celebrate Christmas. Why turn down fun!?
  2. Fixed my game too with my new system. Cheers! Playing with any mods? Same patch i am using. Works great I think!
  3. 250,000 fine and 2 years probation is what Libby gets now. I guess I'm not surprised either, although i wish i was, because that would mean that the country wouldn't make as many stupid actions. President Bush is not the brightest crayon in the box, i bet his IQ is something like 84. His highest grade in college was something like an 80% in college i believe, but his average was what, a C- right? Born into power. What the heck kind of person is a libby supporter? Libby is a douche bag, and so are his supporters. The white house and its staff has become a sideshow, every week they come out with another crazy act that shocks us again and again. I would not call our president courageous, i see this action as a sign of impudence. With freedom comes responsibility, and like every other citizen of the United States even its officials get the same treatment from the courts, at least in theory, and our presidents are disrespecting our system and over reaching their power. Bill Clinton did this too right before he got out of office too, and i think it was equally disrespectful. I think it goes against our constitution and checks and balances.

Any recommend any excellent contemporary sci fi, or beautiful fiction work?
  5. Well I've been playing for a couple hours, and it runs fine, no slow downs. I did have to reinstall because the unofficially 3.7 patch didn't let me use 3rd person and it didn't have the action icon that goes above people heads... weird so i am using the TRUE patch now. Words great so far!
  6. I'm going to give this game another play through!!! I've installed the 1.2 and Wesp's unofficial 3.7 BASIC (its supposedly like the TRUE patch but has more fixes. Their the same size though about 45 mb. I'm going through the music folder changing some of the stuff right now. Do i have to install the editor to open the command so i can dump the cache (memory leak) when it gets out of control and stutters eventually to a crash? anybody know how to dump it?
  7. EEEWWWWW Anyway, I've said all I can say on this subject. Teeth, Taks, Tale, Sand, Wals, Gorgon, and all the rest, it was an enjoyable debate as always. Same you too Guard Dog, thanks for your inside viewpoint on the gov.
  8. I like Bjork, and her new album! DELCARE INDEPENANCE! Earth Invaders etc....
  9. I think it would have to be set up something similar to what UK has, where the countries (states in the US) had their own version, but they all treat UK (US) citizens equally.
  10. maybe its more pessimistic? Its possible to do a smooth transition, no matter what their will be criticism, just look at our educational system. Partlly the reason why its doing so bad is the criticism alone, and people taking their kids out forgetting the reason why there is one in the first place. btw: I can't believe brown Vs The board of Education was overturned...
  11. uhhh.... Yeah some of the federal money does go to school. Look at stupid programs like No Child Left Behind, who funds that? EDIT: btw i do how know schools work generally and I know these programs the feds made are not required by the schools, but the schools get so little money they have little choice.
  12. Individual State run health care. As I posted earlier. If the State of Washington desides to subsidize health care for it's citizens, then I applaud them for it. I'm not opposed to government run health care. I AM opposed to FEDERAL Government run health care. @Calax, you are correct. The words "health care" do not appear in the Constitution. Therefore the 10th Amendment forbids the Federal Government from involving itself in it. At the same time it empowers the State Governments to pursue it if their voters approve. The states run our school system too, and the federal has certain requirements that we have to meet for our education to keep getting the schools funded. I would be fine with it, it can work just fine. Why can't that be called universal health care? There obviously would be a general consensus on how it should be ran (if it came to be at all.) Does it really take a war (like ww2) to recognize we are all in this together, so we should work together?
  13. Con: The Constitution does not allow the Federal government to do it. It's just that simple. So what are the other options the US has other then the Universal then?
  14. Did you guys know Franklin Roosevelt Proposed a second bill of rights that included with many other things: Universal health care. It actually sounded much like France's system. But now that the greatest generation is mostly gone now, we lost that unity the United States had. We were still headed in the Universal health care direction until Nixon got in office though. CLICK HERE!!Wiki link
  15. Never the less people need health care, and there not getting it due to the current system. Politicians are being payed off, Prescriptions are through the roof, people are getting dumped off, poor choices are being made, and 50million do not even have health care, this is all mostly due to greed. So what are the other options the US has other then the Universal then? Pros and cons of a universal health care are Pros -Everyone gets health care(care and prescriptions), granted taxes are paying for it. -Health will be the main issue, not profit, more preventative maintenance done. -Less bankruptcies cons -Pay with taxes; The people who make more will have to pay for the people who make less Government might also screw it up like privatized is too -speculation: health care quality might decline -US privatized medical corporations testing for new medicines will decline. Please feel free to critique this all you want, I would like the best pros and cons list, and other suggestions possible to make the most informed decision. EDIT: Medical bills are the number one cause for bankruptcy in the US.
  16. uh, the veep isn't really "in charge" of the legislation. he only has a vote if a bill is tied. even with his vote, the dems still have a majority right now, as a result, cheney has zero power. checks and balances were not designed to counter party differences, though people often assume that is the case. bush also doesn't have any control over alito nor roberts, or the supreme court in general, since they are appointed for life once approved (that's precisely why it is a life appointment). keep in mind, reagan appointed kennedy and he's been anything but conservative. Wasn't clear on the Vice P but I know what Checks and balances are for.
  17. I agree, and thats why having a small government is efficient, so its harder to cheat, and presumably MUCH easier to find the problems. The biggest problem i think we have right now is checks and balances because it doesn't work correctly right now. Presidents got the Attorney general his job; Vice president is the head of legislation; Bush recommended Judge Alito and Roberts to the Supreme Court. So the executive branch has power in all 3. Checks and balances turns into pointing fingers and denying.
  18. which has absolutely nothing to do with this thread and is nothing more than your sorry-ass trying to be cute making an otherwise ill-informed, nonsensical, political statement. i tried to be reasonable with you earlier but your obvious adherence to dogma and ideology gets scorn instead. a) educate yourself. b) shut up in the mean-time. taks Taks try to share ideas, not hate.
  19. No i don't think the goverment is the only thing that can help the human condition. Heck even dishwashers have helped that!
  20. You look at the government as something detached from society. The government is the people of the United states, we have the vote!!! Governed FOR the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE! Government has the capacity to do good for its people just as it does bad. I see you've already lost hope in government and democracy though so why i waste my time with you in this discussion is beyond me. But if you think the government only screw things up, and the the human condition can't get better your wrong i believe. Along with the many bad things our government has done we have also made libraries, schools, have donated tons of money and supplies to help human suffering from around the world, have funded science to help cure diseases and other conditions. Its helped the independent woman, slavery has been abolished in the US. I could go on and on.
  21. Its bull **** that I'm helping pay for some guy on welfare to have free health care with my tax dollars, yet I cannot afford it myself. I work 40 hours a week and I can barely afford to pay my rent. Yet Tweedle de and dum and their 5 children get free health care because he procreates. Not to mention all my tax dollars I've paid that goes to my government health insurance for its employees. Thats right, I'm one of the 20% without it, yet still pay taxes, and I pay for my own college tuition(part time). "how uniquely American!" Wow this guy is a go getter right? Well I'm tired, and worn out, I don't get any kind of benefits, and If something physically happens to me, Ill get kicked out of my apartment, and have a medical care bill the size of George Bush's fat wallet complements from the HMO's. If the government can't help me get health care, and society doesn't give a care unless i have the money, then what is a young man suppose to do? Who cares though, i just want it because it would benefit me, thats human nature, selfishness. I'm so selfish because i want my health.
  22. GDP is not what the government makes. GDP is what the entire country makes, private industry included. it's actually more like 20% since our current GDP is $13T and tax revenues are $2.4T. the US _can_ afford health care, and we are already paying for it. the question is whether or not the government can, and the answer is no, at least not with out resorting to even more socialism. taks Democrats have the house and Congress, its only a matter of time till they have the white house for 8 years. Universal health care might actually come, logically its possible.
  23. It was PG, come on! Maybe PG13, but definitely PG.
  24. greed = competition, which improves quality. moore's conjecture is nothing but hogwash. pharmaceuticals are only a very small portion of the overall healthcare system, and newsflash, the US is paying the bill for new drugs due to all the rest of the hand-out states in the world. nice try, but why don't you try to actually post something pertinent next time. it's always about big, greedy corporations to you fools. you just don't get it. taks When the competition starts to talk to each other they form a team, and now that team is kicking the US citizens ass. Greed = suffering. They've raised the prices of health care to unpardonable heights. The privatized health care system bought us back in the Nixon era and they've been shoving bills in the politicians pocket since. The problem started with greed and its ended with heartache.
