SS is a joke. Quotes from a supposed interview he says he conducted with Lucas: George Lucas:The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are major disappointments. I let the fans down by not directing those films myself. I really regret allowing Kersh and Richard to direct those films. George Lucas: Thanks for being such a fantastic fan. I

I can't take credit for it. It was written by Helena L. a 21 year old British student. Here's a link to some of her other stories. http://www.fanfiction.net/u/592750/

I found this bit worth a chuckle Inside the Ebon HawkCANDEROUS walks up to the others, whistling nonchalantly. CANDEROUS: So, you find your Star Map yet? RGN: Not yet... but it won't be long now. Where's Sasha? CANDEROUS: I sold her to one of the local spice smugglers as a drug mule. (Seeing RGN's face) Just kidding. She ain't so bad, really... A blaster-wielding SASHA tears through the room, pursuing a couple of terrified gizka. SASHA (subtitled): Diediediediedie! CANDEROUS: (Smirks) Oh yeah, we dealt with your little gizka problem.

Not a joke as such, but has anyone seen this parody of Kotor 1? I thought it very good http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1980542/1/

Notification for when KotOR 2 is actually finished
WoT replied to mtfbwy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The game does need another patch. It is not good enough. And, they most certainly do need our money. Our $50 (the thing that pays the OE employees) is needed. They haven't won this round. We owe them nothing on these boards. Nothing " :D -
It's working. The console just isn't visible on screen.
-
I bought BG2 when it was first released but never got round to playing it :"> so having just found the box at the bottom of my wardrobe I've loaded it up and am now playing it for the first time. Apart from that R:TW, FO2, Silent Hunter III and Broken Sword - The Sleeping Dragon.

If you go here it's the LA announcement on their forum. At the bottom of the page you will the the bit about movie and sound patch. http://forums.lucasarts.com/thread.jspa?th...=38919&tstart=0

The original post is actually a cut and paste of two posts from the LA forums

Link? URL? You seem to be the only poster around here giving Obsidian/Lucas Arts the benefit of the doubt. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> link - http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...pic=32918&st=15

This is the requirements for the senior engine programmer Requirements:
-
They can here in Australia. Just about every video store rents pc, xbox and playstation games
-
Actually OE make NO money off game sales. They are contracted to make a game and are payed for that. End of story. LA makes all the money from sales.
-
LA knew of at least one problem before they released it cause they warn you about it in thr read.me file.

Sort of like KoTOR 2 and Revan, Bastila and Carth. The thing I can't get past is that if we mention eithe Revan or Exile, then we might discuss have how they affected the galaxy. And the outcomes LS or DS are different. Unless the devs just say that Revan & Exile left. There's no real resolution. The gender wars will continue. By basing the next story far into the future, the next devs wouldn't have to deal with the affects of KoTOR 1 and 2. Revan. Exile and the other NPC's can all be expected to die. Except T3 and HK-47. Of course as I'm typing this, I'm still not sure if this is waht I'd like to see. Do I want a resolution to KoTOR 1 and 2? Or do I want a good story more than a resolution? I think I'd leave Revan and the Exile, and their genders, to my imagination. Give me a complete story instead, KoTOR 3 developers. Well, that's my rationale for my "50 years into the future" scenario. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's why I thought the next game would be set in the outer rim. It seemed as if the story was going the way of not mattering whether you were dark or light because Revan would need the help of anyone who could use the force, Sith or Jedi. That way your choices of dark or light in the previous games would not matter as the threat was to both, possibly creating a temporary alliance?
-
Ah-ha. But what about the crazy fanboy/fangirls who will bombard the internet with "We want Revan/We want Exile" posts? Way I originally thought was that KoTOR 3 was leading up to the war with the "True Sith". I suppose that forgetting about them could work. I feel IMHO, that KoTOR 2 should've used less Revan. It made me overly curious about his/her whereabouts. Now I WANT A RESOLUTION! Forgive the caps please. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, they could still use Revan and Exile but base the story in the Outer Rim. That way you still wont be running across your old buddies and Rev and Ex are not your PC but just part of the storyline. Mentioned but never seen.
-
Actually, I don't think they even need to go that far into the future. From what I could make out of the ending, both Revan and Exile are now outside Republic space battling the "True Sith" so it's probably highly unlikely that they'll just happen to run across any of their old buddies .
-
I see your point. Probably the simplest thing for the next story is simply have a new NPC, no cameo's and no appearance by Revan or Exile. If they are never refered to by gender, only by name, then that cuts it down to only 4 possible outcomes.
-
Yes. Because although KOTOR II is a different story many elements change depending on how you answer the setup questions. This is to keep the continuity between the different outcomes. Even to the point of having a totally different admiral if it's a continuity where Carth died. Those scenes only had to deal with four outcomes. Multiply that many more times if you had variable destinies for each character, plus the Exile. While the story may not be complete, it may be "written" in the sense that EP I-III was always intended (if you believe George). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But if it's a new PC you still only have 4 outcomes - ML/MD/FL/FD. And as far as the NPCs' destinies, if they kill off any in any of the endings for this game they just dont appear in the next one. Like they did in this game. And we're only talking cameo's here. A couple of cut scenes (well, maybe a few more than that depending on who lives or dies ) shouldn't be too hard to incorporate into the game.
-
Hi. I' a lurker come in from the cold and just wanted to add my bit. Just my thoughts but would it really matter to KoTOR 3 in any way no matter what they did to the ending of this one? If they follow the same path as they did with KoTOR 2 it'll be a new PC with a new storyline with a few cameos from NPC's from the previous 2 games. It's not like the story for the next game is written in stone already. All they need is a scene like Atton's first scene where you answer questions about gender and alignment.

Music is degraded to *MONO* 10kHz @ 48 kbit/s?!
WoT replied to markussun's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't know much about audio but as I was reading Diary V on the KoTOR website I noticed this - "Once the final assets were delivered we had about a month of bug fixing and mix tweaking before submitting to Microsoft." That's taken from Mark Griskey's comments in Diary V. Maybe it wasn't a LA stuff-up, but a MS mistake. I'm probably wrong but it struck me as strange that the music was submitted to MS not LA or OE.
