Video is cool. The mature rating is old news, anyways. You are behind the times.

"Journalistic integrity is probably not ign's strong point and the Bio developers are already slapping themselves on the back on their own forums (all part of the carefully stage-managed hype-machine, I'm sure)." That's right. Because Obsidian, and other dev companies never congratulate themselves when they get praised. R00fles! I do agree that the score is too high (no game should be .1 off of 10); but the crying by the likes of you because a game got such a score is ridiculous. Did you ever think that maybe IGN just loves the game. Silly conspiracy theorists.

"PC version. Now." No. PC version. Either: Never or 2 years. :D

I wager the 22 hour is them rushing through it. Most reviewers tend to underestimate the length of the game. And, while I think JE will be great; 9.9 is probably too high for *any* game. I do find it hialrious that fools - about 25 of 'em - have already given user ratings for the game. Peons. The new video for theatre trailers kicks butt though.

"IMO it WAS a bit of a gamble for Interplay and I give them credit for that." Go ahead; it still doens't make them responsible for Bioware's success. Afterall; Bioware still had to follow through and accomplish their goals.

"Yes there ARE companies that care about their employees, and this paper mentions it, but there is a general trend of poor quality of life in game industry." Organization like IGDA mean nothing to me. I like in games development was so horrible people would be leaving it by the trcukloads; but they ain't. Go figure. Yes, developers have long hours. Big whoop. They aren't the only industry that does that. That doesn't mean their jobs horrible. Most devs seem to genuinely enjoy their work even wiyth us fans whining and the long hours. If we don't know the statistics then I'm going go with the only evdience we have - there is no mass exodus.

"If a publisher decides to go with a rather unknown developer to make a huge RPG based on the D&D license at a time when RPG's are literally dead, then the publisher deserves IMO some credit for having faith in the developers' abilities." Bioware was not some unknown entity to Interplay before BG. It wans't like Interplay randomly picked them up off the street. The two companies had worked together before, and remember, it was Interplay (specifically Feargus if the stories told are accurate) that saw the IE in action andbasically said,"That's cool. We have the D&D license and think your engine would rock with it so let's do that." Remember, BIO and Interplay alreayd had a contract to make another game together so it wans't like it came out of nowhere. "I wonder if anybody ever thought about the possibility that Volourn might be right ?" Don't hold your breath. Besdies, if I'm wrong, I'll just blame my teachers, parents, and the rest of society. Afterall, I'm their responsibility.

Do you find yourself creating the same character?
Volourn replied to romeo_longsword's topic in Computer and Console
Yeah, I do. For some reason even though I like avriety the first time through eveyr game I play basically the same character. LOL A dwarvenfighter/cleric or the closest equivelant... -
"Can you two just get a room? Baldur's Gate 2 is the best game. With IWD a close second. 1 an 1a. The rest, forget about it." Such finality. You win.

What are your Ability Scores?

"I'm here as a user, and I happen to disagree with a lot of the things you write." Join the club. Perhaps if people didn't read things literally the 'ent would be better off. I guess I could have written: "NWN is my favorite D&D game because the experienc eis orgamsic." and I'd have to worry that everyone would actually think I have an orgasm every time I experience NWN. R00fles! For some reason I find that hard to believe.
-
"Explaining why would involve flaming other game companies, so I'll refrain." Criticizing game companies doesn't automatically = flmaing. Afterall, you've been able to criticize Bioware's BG and NWN fairly without having to bash quit efan. Afterall, you stated your dissapointment in BG's rules implementation both honestly and fairly. Nothing wrong with that. You state your opinion... unless you ar elegally prohibitted. Of cours,e I cna't make you post anything more so meh.. this is a waste. LOL Join up with Obsdiian when you next are avaialble. You will do them good and they will do you good.
-
Next, please. You play pnp with a DM. You can play NWN with a DM. Game over. Going back and forth with a real live Master Game Developer is cool and all; but it doesn't seem to get very far unless I agree 100% with said developer.
-
I see. So you don't play pnp D&D with a DM or Gm or anything like that? Ok then.
-
"Admitting that AoOs don't work in NWN like they do in your pen and paper games would probably be a good way to make me not look down on you. Alternately, thoroughly explaining how AoOs work in NWN and how they work identically in your pen and paper games would also make me not look down on you and would, in fact, humble me." Let's not ignore this little fact: "Afterall, it's the only D&D game to allow you play exactly like in pnp WITH A DM." That line is all that matters. Understand it then you would realize that AOO means absolutely nothing with what I'm stating. Nothing.
-
"Can you explain to me exactly how AoOs work in NWN and how you resolve them in your pen and paper games?" I can; but I won't as it would be meaningless to do so as it would prove nothing but give another reason for you to look down on me. Keep up the good work.

The Bg series CRUSHES KOTOR series. The only thing worthwhile that KOTOR series beats the BG series is the use of non combat skills. Also good games to try out are the Fos eries (only games to tie Bg series), NWN, Ff series, Arcanum, PST, IWD, and the Ultima series are all good choices.
-
"Star Wars Episode 1 and 2 proves you wrong." They're overrated? Consideirng all the bashing I see; I highly doubt they're overrated. "Afterall, it's the only D&D game to allow you play exactly like in pnp WITH A DM." Game over. P.S. You also seem to think you know how I play pnp D&D. Myabe I my AOOs in pnp work exactly like they do in NWN. Maybe, my pnp wizards use identify exactly as they would in TOEE. Or perhaps, my pnp familairs work like they did in BG2. You simply don't know.
-
Overrated does not equal crap. Fool.
-
That proves nothing. Since when did you kiss Gamespy's ass? Should I show you what they rated NWN? LOLOLOLOLLIPOP

"So if someone rapes you, and you become a rape victim, are you still 100% responsible for you?" Yes; I am. Then again, I didn't rape myself - the rapist did. Geez.. Stick to letting Ellester do the posting 'cause at least his examples have at least a remote chance of making sense. "Ps. Your simple-mindedness astounds me." P.S. Your blaming the victim for a rapist's actions astounds and sickens me and all normal thinking people. "Every company that takes part in the making of a computergame holds a share of the games success or failure and in consequence influences the individual participants' success or failure based on how well the product will perform on the market. Making a game is a joint venture between developer and publisher, therefore both are responsible for the success/failure of their product, which in return influences their respective successes/failures." Ok. Once again, if Bioware crumbles and falls a part; I'm blaming Interplay.
-
Overall? Neverwinter Nights. Afterall, it's the only D&D game to allow you play exactly like in pnp with a DM. Good job. As far as OC is concerned, then I'd have to give it to BG2. Though; it is not surprising that PST is winning on an Obsidian message board (lol). It's only real competition here (R00fles!) is IWD.
-
"I won't be buying anything Published by LA anymore. " Yeah, they're so horrible as publishers. They just happened to publisher two pretty damn good role-playing games in KOTOR1, and KOTOR2. They suck! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLIPOP

"Why? Does not every game Bioware develops contribute to the overall success of the company? I say yes. So Atari would be partly responsible in making, or keeping Bioware as a successful company." Sure. However, Bioware is still 100% responsible for Bioware. If Bioware crashes and burns (outside of flat out robbery); I will be blaming them 100% for their fqall. Unlike you, I won't be blaming Interplay.
-
"I just said Atari didn
