  1. "So an elven man can romance a dwarven woman but a human male can't?" All in the story, background, and personality of the individual character, and what may (or may not) occur in the game. "like the general idea..let's hope it works just as good in-game" Hope is for the Unbeliever! Faith is for the Believer! Knowledge is for the the Modmaker!
  2. "Can you romance the dwarven female henchman ?" Only under circustances - ie. no gnomes, halflings, and humans.... and if you interact with her properly. That said, soemthing I should say, is that you will find out that romances tend to take awhile tog et going in this series of modules - some take palce over multiple modules. ie. Don't expect the relation be: Hi, I like you, I love you, Marry me type ones. Expect in some situations to feel that like allr elationships you have to earn a successful relationship, and even then the relationship may fail even if you think you did everything right... Love, love lost, betrayal, break ups, make ups, sacrifice, and ulitmate happines cna all be had, experienced, and suiffered... "Guilds" "Nah..I don't wanna be spoiled..I hate em...I always stay away." Hehe. that's ok. Besides, the spoiler thing not only effects this module; but the later modules too..
  3. "I liked the fact that it's chapter 2...and I also like the features" Which features are more awesome to you? "And the fact that ch3 with the guilds is gonna happen after this one" Ahh.. The gulds. Damn. I was hopin' you'd forget about those as they've been canned.... I kid, I kid. " :D "Um...so does anyone threaten to rape you?" No, not quite. However, there is a certain situation that can be, let's say, slightly uncomfortable to the squeamish. I can pm you it; but I wanr you it's a MAJOR SPOILER from the current module...
  4. "Wow..I already like it..damn hype machine..." LOL What was so special about the features I lsited? It's good to see what interests people the most. I have to be careful though of prehyping at least until my first module is out. I made the mistake of 'prehyping' before NWN was even out and all i did was look like a fool when I had nothing to really show 'til now... "Um..Can you rape people?" No. You can threaten to; but those beings you meet in these modules are a tad too strong to have that occur. You'd,l ikely have to kill them first, and then it be necrophilia... That said, there are situations that straddle the line, and not always in favor of the PC... But, no, no outright rape... Not for these modules.
  5. "Well at least they're not gameplay issues" Ha. "Any news on CH2?" Eh. Not even finish the first one so it's a tad early. That said, here are some quick points to hype it more. Working Title is... Witcheta Chronicles 2: Family Feud Features ---------- - balanced for character levels 7-10 with ability to reach level 15 - The long fall of the Witcheta family is further explored - visit and explore an ancient dwarven stronghold, a desolate desert (lol, any other kind? :D ), and a forest haunted by overly aggresive animals - 6 new henchmen including a dwarven warrior-bard who wields vicious twins hand axes looking for her clan's lost stronghold and its secrets that can save her dying father - battle new monsters including variant golems, powerful duergar lords, & rival adventuring parties who don't appreciate those who interrupt their treasure hunts - revisit old haunts, and encounter and interact with allies & enemies of the Witcheta Chronicles 1: The Relic - at least 3 times the size of part 1 - many more unique magical items - choices made or not made in part 1 will now have unforeseen ramifcations in the sequel - rated M for Mature as always Story/Plotline: I'd share this; but it would spoil the conclusion of Part 1. There ya go.
  6. "Fixed any more spelling mistakes?" Ha. I'm always fixin' them. There's an endless supply of those things. And, if I run out, I can always create more. <_<
  7. While the Witcher looks good; I see it more as an adventure game with role-playing elements Oh, yeah other RPgs - pseudo or other wise - include Gauntet, Sacred 2, Hellgate: London, Divine Divinity 2, and Dungeon Seige 2.
  8. "Q: do you delete your posts and then repost 'em?" I would NEVER do such a thing. Never. I am SHOCKED over this accusation. "like this one ...must see"
  9. Another summons update. This time it is for rnagers, and bards. 1. Rangers are very basic summoners. They have no secet summons, and their summons aren't enarly as powerful as the others'. RANGER SUMMONS ---------------------- 1- Falcon Guide 2 - Dire Ox 3 - Loyal Leopard 4 - Dire Bear 2. Bards are special. They mix the summons of wizards along with some unique sommons of their own. Level 6 Bard summons are some of the most powerful summons of the game - about equal with the level 8 summons of the other classe;s but no match for the level 9 summons. Each spell level has two summons which are randomly chosen each time the bard casts the particualr summon spell. Level 6 Bard Spells are TOP SECRAT. BARD SUMMONS ------------------- 1 - Goblin, & Bard Neophyte. 2 - Air Mephit, & Dust Mephit. 3 - Gargoyle, & Harpy. 4 - Gorgon, & Bard Songmistress. 5 - Ogre Mage, & Harpy Siren. More Summoning News: Various tomes, books, and scrolls cna be found throught the series of modules the first one exploring the various details of the world's summoning spells, and how they work. Some may even tell the inquistive reader what is in store for them with the most powerful summons... Up Next: Planar Summoning, & Undead Summoning spell lists.
  10. Oblivion - sucks like poo Gothic 3 - looks like it has lots of promise Nothing else worth mentioning that I can think of at the moment...
  11. And, oh, Ellester, for the record at last count BIO had 200+ employees. At the time that was mentioned BIo said they didn't want to grow any larger yet every so often new BIO BLANKS show up on the baords. I wouldn't doubt they are closer to 300 now... What's funny is that theys eme to growing even thoguh they supposedly don't really want to... Heh. As for publishing; they haven't ruled out doing so in the future. "And wasn't there talks about them working on some more other NWN modules?" Aye. I figure that all the NWN stuff - patches, Live Team, modules - alla r eincluded in one 'project line' since they basically are like 10 peole max working on them at a time. One new Premium module has been 'announced'... As for JE on PC; I dunno; it would guarantee some more monies. I think it depends on if they think they cna turn a nice profit off it to make it worth the while..
  12. Project lines.. I presume that includes all the NWN stuff under one 'line'. Your numbers are off, anywyas, as they have at least 3 actual games under development... 1- Dragon Age 2 - Undisclosed game for next gen consoles (x-box) 3 - Undisclosed game for both console and PC... Your math skillz need help.
  13. "But if the controls are so specially adapted to the Xbox controller, how will that work?" Not, that I worry since I alreayd own the game; but that will be interetsing for those who have waited for a PC version. I just don't see how a keyboard and mouse can successfully replace a controller for this game. I just can't...
  14. While BIO has been rather quiet on the E3 front, and actual announcemtns this year; they have done a short yet semi informative interview at the link below: http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=27 The following answer is the mos interesting paprt to me: "This year, we wanted to ensure that the development teams on each of our upcoming products are able to focus on development, rather than interrupting that process to create an E3 demo. We
  15. They already have, at minimum, 2 SECRAT projects in development. Probably even three...
  16. Who knows why BIo wasted the money to go E3 with nothing to show; but I'm dissapointed. If it's for the media attention; don't you think it failed? Obviosuly, if BIO has nothing to show, the media is gonna focus on thsoe companies that have soemthing to show - whether it be Oblviion, the new console hypes, or any one of the enarly 1000 games being shown at E3..So, if the idea was to advertise; they are gonna be swamped by others.
  17. "Now chances are MGS4 and Gran Turismo 5 won't actually make it for launch, and the FF game is only rumored, but at the rate Rockstar has been pumping out GTA games, GTA 4 is believable. GTA 4 + Killzone 2 + EA Sports = no reduced sales due to Halo 3 release." True. of course, the rumoured $500 price tag for the PS3 as opposed to the rumoured $300 price tag for the x-box will..
  18. "Taking a break from the mass swarm of humanity at E3, I went to visit the BioWare booth in the South Hall and got to spend some time with Tom Ohle, BioWare's public relation specialist. While BioWare isn't showing or announcing anything new, I did get a sneak peek at a new premium module in the works for NWN. I can't talk too much about it except that it will feature new content like tilesets and creatures as well be the longest premium module they've done. We'll be featuring an interview on it when it gets closer to release. Feel free to probe the BioWare staff on the official forums and hopefully they'll give up some information. Also at the BioWare booth was the Dragon Age logo which is very close to what it will be. As the next major PC project they're working on and the spiritual successor of NWN, it's a massive project that I'm really looking forward to. On a related topic, we didn't transfer the Dragon Age section from the old site due to technical reasons, but it will definitely get its own website once official information starts flowing and we have some artwork we can use in the site design."
  19. "but those options had nothing really to do with the story at hand. put them in context with the story and there are certainly cases, one I pointed out, that they make sense. but not with BG2 or ToEE." Eh. 1. BG2 was a game that was just as much about the side quests as it was about the main story. Half the game - at least - could be taken away as it had nothing to do with the story. Firkragg, the Beholder Cult, the Druid Grove, Nalia's Keep, etc. all could've simply been removed if we followed your suggestion. 2. Romances don't add to the story per se; but they add to the interaction with npcs and that's a HUGE part of what role-playing games are about. Making decisions that matter that effect your PC, npcs, and the world around you. Romances add to that dynamic. 3. BG2 romances do in a way connect to the 'main story'. Afterall, the PC and Jaheira get close due to her husband being murdered just because he had to be travelling with the PC - another reason to want to kill 'ol Irenicus for causing Jaheira pain which the PC experiences with her (depending on PC perosnality, of course). 4. It adds role-playing to a a role-playing game. That's a good thing. 5. Don't like the romances, tell them to bugger off. 6. None of the npcs in BG2, other than Imoen, really add top the main story. I guess we should get rid of them completely. Just allow the PC to create 5 other characters and be done with the interparty interaction completely. 7. Story is just one part of what games a role-playing game worthwhile. Actual role-playing, and interatcing with npcs is the other part. I seriously doubt the 'dead ends' found in BG2 had anything really to do with the inclusion of romances. 8. To each their own.
  20. "my example, BG2, had zero purpose for the relationships." Yes, it did. It made the personal relationships more real, and more dynamic. And, it added tons of role-playing and ability. And, amde the game better.
  21. Jebus wins. Game over.
  22. "why do you need any sexual option in a crpg? assuming we're referring to common formats (steampunk, fantasy, etc.) i see no real need to have homo or hetero relationships. they really weren't an issue until the BG2 "romances" and even then, they served little point." Romances add to the role-playing.
  23. $45 here. HOTU itself is $38... I'm surprised you didn't comment on the penguin. <>
  24. Might? I thought you already did!?! Get crackin'! *takes his owna dvice and gets crackin' some more on the mod*
  25. "I just don't want to spend my leisure time dwelling on the darkside of human nature...I have to deal with that at work everyday...I was very disappointed with how dark Fable was...I just want a good old-fashioned happy-ending adventure story, not some psychopathic thriller." I cna understand this, and its ebst toa void those games if you so wish. No one forces you to play them - just like people aren't forced to watch movies where these darker things are shown... As a side note, I watch soaps (OMG). The one I really enjoy is General Hospital. Right now, the major story is a sad, and dark one - a young boy just killed his biological father after months of emotional abuse. Very sad, but very mature subject matter. Many of my GH fans are so upset about this story they are whining and threatening to 'boycott' the show as they fele the subject matter is too dark. I say meh. "I do however have a 5 year old brother who I am very protective of, so maybe I am biased on this matter." I have young epople in my life (many nephews and nieces) who I wouldn't wnat playing these types of games too; but I would think they wouldn't do. Games with such material arne't really for the youngsters... "Now please don't think I am trying to start a flamewar with you here, I am simply stating my opinion on the subject, and I respect yours." It's all good.
