DA not to be at E3; Bioshock a valid substitute
Volourn replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
He's on one of his 'I hate BIO' marathons currently. they must have pooed in his cornflakes again.. well.. until they release something and he rushes out to buy it. HAHAHA! -
Of course there's gonna be spoilers. It's a REVIEW. I hate when reviews try to be vague. It's boring, and shows me nothing about the story, role-playing, and characters.

DA not to be at E3; Bioshock a valid substitute
Volourn replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
He blows up at everyone for everything. "Pics please. Lets see how those spells work in game." Graphics don't matter... remember? -
"YOU freaking spoiled JE for me, jerk." 1. Tough. 2. Do you even own an x-box? 3. Have you even played it? 4. HAHAHAHAHAHA! "What about warnings and not using spoiler tags?" Sometimes, I post a spoilers warning' in the semi title under the main one like I did with my JE and BL reviews, IIRC...

DA not to be at E3; Bioshock a valid substitute

Lots, actually. From how spells work to the world's religions; lots of stuff have been shared. -
Spoil tags are for wussies. Only time spoiler warnings are truly warrant is on the game ssite ittself. So, only on NWN2 forums would I be careful of giving away spoilers. No offense; but 'tis true so be sure to avoid my review thread. That's the only warning you'll get

DA not to be at E3; Bioshock a valid substitute
Volourn replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
"Don't know and don't really care. As far as I am concerned he could be spouting off nonsense. Only place I get any news on Dragon Age is the news sites which has been very spartan of anything of substance." And, there's usually new stuff posted once a week. Check RPGDot for example. You lose. -
DA not to be at E3; Bioshock a valid substitute
Volourn replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
"Hype and to string along their PC audience long enough that they break down to buy a a console" If that's their strategy you (and I) are living proof it works!!! Again, so, what is Gaider truly working on then and why is he wasting time talking about DA stuff? HAHAHAHAHHA!! -
"By the time I have a desire to play NWN 1 again NWN 2 will be released and I will be playing that instead." Wait! I thoguht you weren't buying NWN2? HAHAHAHA! "The need to stab myself in the head with a spork would be greater if I play NWN 1 again." yet, you ran off and downloaded the newest patch right away yet have no itnention of playing it ever again? HAHAHAHAHA! P.S. Outside of working on my mod (which I will finish!!!) (vapourware anyone? ); I haven't 'played' NWN much myself of late. that's beenr eserved for MVP 2005 and EQ2...

DA not to be at E3; Bioshock a valid substitute

Yes, we have lots of indicattions that DA is still being made, and it is. To say it isn't means nothing since you have no proof that it isn't. Afterall, if DA is a figment of imagination then what is Gaider doing? Why would BIO waste time talking about a project they have no intention of making? LOLOLOLOLLIPOP -
Yeha, they're actually calling it the 1.67 update. Either way, we get to kill JAWS now!!!!

"My level 99 Cloud could wipe out your puny lvl 17 wizard! KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND!!!" Timestop then wish = game over for YOU!

"NwN = finish with PC level 10-12" Huh? really? More like level 16-20 "SoU = finish with PC level 19-22" Level 10 -14. "HoU = finish with PC level 26-28" "What is level 16 in Fallout compared to level 6-8 in D&D though? When dealing with already arbitrary numbers, it doesn't make much sense to compare them with the arbitrary numbers of a different ruleset." Well.. considering hat level 16 was/is upper high end for both rulesets and that I think its' fair to equalize them. The point is you level up rather quick in FO compared to BG1.
-
"Fallout as examples of a satisfying level rate." Eh? I reached level 16 (I think that was the max) in about 20 or so hours. Not exactly a good rate of levelling.... espicially if you are going to compare it to BG which was 6-8 levels in 50+ hours (minimum)... "Torment also seemed to have a good rate in the early levels." Hmm.. I dunno about that. PST's levelling rate was on the fast end....

No one says that 'Chosen One's' are always successful. Afterall, you can fail in the BG series. You can fail in the KOTOR series. You cna fail in the Fallouts. etc., etc...
-
I already explained this. In fact, Gandalf explains this in both the book and movie. You can't get much clearer than that. Game over.
-
No. Frodo isn't *a8 Chosen One. He is *the* Chosen One.
-
Persoanlly, 1 level per 10 hours will be cool. 1 in 3 is acceptable; but I expecte 1 in 1.5-2 is what we'll normally get. Except maybe not in NWN2 which if it is 20 hours it might end up in a 1-1 ratio. Hmmm...

"Why did it take Sauron 50 years (after Bilbo found it) to track down the one ring ? And neither Bilbo or Frodo are chosen ones. A chance event does not mean that a character is the chosen one." Frodo certainly was. Gandalf pretty much even so. Paraphrasing he stated repeatedly,"You ar ethe only one who can protect,a nd wear the ring!" LOLOLOLOLLIPOP Sure sounds like a Chosen one tm story to me. Very poor example, Sir Paladin. Even worse than the NWN2 proposed story. LOL

http://nwn.bioware.com/players/167/ For those who care (and somehow don't already know) patch 1.67 including new monsters, placeables, and tilesets (though I beleive the tilesets are actually a different download) are available. LONG LIVE NWN + BIO! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
"Name one I'm curious." BG series. Arcanum. Choose a FF (most of 'em anyways). Some of the earlier Dragon Warriors. The list goes on...

"Every game where the PC is the protagonist is "Chosen One"?" NWN OC is an exmaple of a non Chosen one. As is BL. While the PC becomes an important figure in both of those games; it's through their actions that they do so; not by something as lame as what occured when theyw ere a baby. I mean, seriously, the Gith couldn't find the PC before he was all growed up and able to defend himself? LOLOLOLLIPOP P.S. Irenicus was not the protaginist. He was the atagonist. BG2 was still about the PC's journey into discovering his history, and future. Don't confuse the fact that BIO actually gave Irenicus a depth, and purpose that was more than just 'kill PC' as making him the protagonist.
-
Deg, I call Chosen One stories basically a story where the PC (main character) is the focus or the druving force of the story through no action of them. ie. Getting a sword stuck in your body when you were a baby reeks of Chosen One. It doesn't have to involve some sort of prophecy at all nor does the PC have to be blessed with some sort of super power.
-
Seems Chosen One like to me. You, of all people, have a piece of their sword in you. They have happened to gather *ever* piece of sword but the one in you. The whole game is about them trying to track you down. It's all about you. Sure sounds Chosen One like to me. Close enough for governemnt work - super powers or not. And, come on Grom, you should know by know that I have no need to follow what the Codex does.

LOL :D No, I believe not. "
