" In the BG series, you're the Bhaalspawn who rises above all the others." Because of decisions you made. Because of some luck. Not because you are any more special than the other Bhaalspawn. This is evidenced in some of the dream sequence sin TOB when Sarevok himself questions how things would have turned out if he was taken in by Gorion, and not you. You rise above the others because as SP points out you act. And, remember, the Bg series doens't need to end with all going well... While PST, no matter your decisions or morlaity - you either commit self sacrifice or you join the Blood War. In the end, even thoguh PST gives you plenty of chocies and ways to complete quests, thise choices end up meaning nothing at the End Game. (not that the Bg series is the apex of chocies mattering, that would be FO).

What happened to the pc version of Jade Empire?

Why not take the best of both worlds so both types of gamers can be happy? Me? I'm happy playing the best games possible no matter the format. -
"No need for the insult." It's one thing to give his opinion which was, overall, well thought out); but it's null and void when he tries to tell me what I 'know'. He could think my opinion, thoughts, and idea sucks; but I post what I 'think' or 'know'; not what others' do or think I 'know'. "That was very constructive and mature of you." As was you trying to tell me what I 'know'.
-
"you're still the Bhaalspawn" Actually, you are *a* Bhaalspawn. Bhaallspawns aren't some uniform creature. Afterall, my siblings are my dadspawns; but we're all different. You aren't defined by your parent even if it is a god.

"This is not a chosen one story and you know it Volourn." Only trolls tell others what they know. And, oh, this is *nothing* like the PST story. Nothing. I'll take PST's amnesia story over 'sword in butt' story any day of the eon. Thank you very much.

TNO is not really the PC's character. Nothing you do matters in the end. You ae predistined to go be part of the Blood War. You have no say (other than self destruction) so meh. You are designed by a past you have no control over, and your actions (both current and future) mean nothing. Hence, it's not truly your character; but a borrowed character. PST gives you chocies; but in the end those choices mena anything. Not to mention the illogical FFish equipment style (for all characters) which is just plain 'ol lame. Look at me! I'm naked and cna't wear armour? WHY? Just because. Look at me? I see a crossbow. I can't use it? WHY? Because it's for a silly npc only. HAHAHAHA!!! At least in KOTOR's amnesia story, at least the ex-Reven truly *is* your character, and what decisions you make are yours to make.

"As an example, when the Nameless One is at the "Longing" Sensory Stone, seeing the conversation with Deionarra, we have to see the images in our minds, to see Deionarra's blind hope, and the other's cold manipulation." Like I stated, PST isn't lacking drama and emotion completely. In fact, you described one of my favorite parts of the game.

"BIO released 2 expansions in the same year, remember?" Of course, both had a year + work done on them. And, it wasn't neccessarily the same team(s) working on both. They also had those fools work on SOu which ended up being a joke, and then BIO had to come clean it up in the last month which shows in the horrible ch2, and so-so interlude.

Have you guys actually watched a daytime drama or do you just go by the 'ol 'it's only for stay at home mom types' or 'i once saw 5 minutes of a dramatic scene and it was too overwrought' opinion made by many? "nearly all emotion had to be conveyed through text and left to the imagination of the gamer." A gamer shouldn't have to imagine emotion. The writing should convey. That said, I'm not saying PST sucks. There were plenty of emotional/drmaatic moments. I'm referring to the amnesiac story most specifically. As for my (lack of) imagination, no need for me to defend it. After nearly 2 decades of role-playing/dming , I think my imagination is in a good place.

"PS:T is a great game and, years later, no other CRPG stacks up to it" Over the eyars, as much as I like PST, there's been about 20+ games that not only stack up to it but also surpass it. These games hail from the 80s to the 90s to the 2000s. PST is overrated. Good (even great at times); but overrated. My argument is this: When I can turn on the tv, and watch a daytime drama do an amnesia storyline with superior writing, dialogue, and acting it's hard to take PST as serious as I otherwise could. PST's greatest strength and where few games (with the possible exceptions of BG2 and BL) are the awesome characters. Peace, and war.

As did I. LOL :D

Read again: It's accurate. Accurate does not mean exact. 'Sword in butt' is accurate not exact or exaggeration.
-
The shard is a piece of sword. The butt is a part of the body. Close enough for government work to make the statement:"you got a sword up your butt' accurate enough for my satisfaction.
-
Keep spinning in your defense in this poor start (and almost comeplete rewrite) of the NWN 2 OC story. Bottom line is you have a sword up your butt.
-
Nope. Wrong. Error. You lose. Game over. The bottom line is you more or less have a sword in your body. Deal with it.
-
"Quite how you interprete a shard of metal to be a sword up your but." This is easy. The sward in question is a piece of sword so, quite literally, you have a sword up your butt (or pick x body part if you so wish) - not a whole sword; but a sword nontheless.
-
"If it was as bad as you claim then you wouldnt have to exagerate." Not exaggeration. There's a sword up your butt. Deal with it. That's how the game ends. That's the 'dark ending'. The Gith corner you and take the pieces they have, and the last piece (the sword tip) is in your body and they stick it up your butt reconnecting the sword which destroys your body and places your soul in the sword for all eternity. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!! p.s. Semantics does not equal exaggeration.
-
"A shard of a sword which is not up your butt." Semantics. "To be the same as NwN you would have to send a Gythanki warparty to wipe everyone out and then have the PC just encounter level 1 creatures. That makes a good deal less sense than just being the victim of an accident." The PC was unimportant. The attack wasn't against the PC; but a search for the creatures. The PC meant crap. He wasn't chosen... Unlike the PC in NWN2 where the entire game from the get go - with no action from the PC - is 100% focused on the PC and the sword stuck up his behind. Sounds like a Chosen (and a crappy one at that) Story to me. That said, as before, this doesn't mean the NWN2 OC story is a lost cost. As others (and I) have stated previously, the devil is in the details. Game over.
-
But a sword up your butt is a-ok. R00fles! P.S. You obviously haven't played NWN OC.

"I am betting it will be a 15 hour short POS if it is released at all." You will buy it at fuill price on day of release. You will replay it dozens of time. You will enjoy it. You will come to the boards and bash it. You will whine about how easy it is. You will whine about how much you died against a certain creature, and then accuse BIO of cheating. Good times for all. -

Yeha, all I've heard is that sometime in 2007 is the *earliest* that DA will be released. And, if it does, I'd wager it be around Christmas time next year if anything... -
"KOTOR 2's lack of post-production support (along with an early release date) suggests a form of sabotage by disgruntled folk at LA." No. No, it doesn/ Only Obsidian fanboys would suggest such a things. I seriosuly doubt LA would sabatoge their own game. Besdies, if they were trying to sabatoge it, they did a poor job of it consideirng how much it sold.

Hehe. So true. It cna be annoying (and lots of fun!) playing it with another. :D
