Gaborik is paid millions of dollars to score goals not block shots or play D. That's what guys like Girardi, and Staal are for. Besdies, everyone makes mistakes (including Girardi and Lunqvist).. they ain't getting bench. This isn't about the team, but about power. Torturechips is all about Torturechips. he doesn't give a crap about the Rangers. As a coach you should be using your players to their strnegths not handcuffing them. My god. Own the fact you are off base. 2 minutes is not huge. Don't make stuff up. I said 18-22 was average. There will always be guy who do a little more or a little less. He clocks in at 24minish. Not that much dramatically more. You amde it sound like he plays 30 minutes a game which he does not do.

Most forwards don't usually play much more than 20 minutes a game. Only defensemen tend to play 25+. I doubt Kovochuk plays more than 18-22 minutes even when healthy.
