Jedi Master Dakari replied to Knights&Darths's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, I just hated hearing the word -
Master Atris was trying to discover the identity of the threat facing the Jedi. She is the one who called the last Jedi Conclave on Katarr, and then "leaked" that information so that she might discover the truth. Not everything went according to plan, as we well know. She never invisioned such a great attack could take place. Once this happened she was on the verge of going insane, locking herself in her meditation chambers with the Sith Holocrons to delve even deeper into their teachings, determined to uncover the mysteries clouding the Jedi Order. Not being seen for days or weeks, this is when she was corrupted by the dark side of the Force. She just could not see that she was, nor would she ever acknowledge it, until Kreia finally showed her the truth years later. So no, she did not go to Katarr. But Vandar was among the many who did attend, and he is dead now. Unless you played Revan as a dark side character in K1. But even then, he died during the assault on the Star Forge. Either way, he gone bye-bye.

Handmaiden deceased
Jedi Master Dakari replied to gonzzalez's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's...not good. I think she died in one of my games. I went outside the ship, came back in, and she was there. If that doesn't work, try going to a section of the game where they all interact and she is usually present (possibly your first time on Nar Shadda). If she doesn't pop-up then...you might need to start from a previously saved game (save very frequently...it does help) or you might need to start a whole new game. Unless you don't mind Brianna being gone... " -

What, "reclaim it"? Yeah. I was going to stress that a little, but I figured it was clear enough. -

metadigital, you are a life saver. I couldn't have said it better myself. But to add to your comment, my personal opinion stands thus... The canon storyline dictates that both Mical and Brianna traveled with the exile. Be it male or female. My reasoning for this is because they were both Force Sensative, Brianna's mother was a Jedi Master, and Mical had already had basic Jedi training...under the exile, no less. There are also many more reasons, but I won't go into all of that. "If he leaves this place he will leave the galaxy behind. He will sit upon the new Council; reluctantly, as all good men do. And he will not forget the Jedi who had lost the Force, yet showed him how to reclaim it." Darth Traya about Mical, TSL -

Those are the exact reasons why they are the perfect ones to rebuild the Jedi Order. Try and remember everything Kreia ever said about even common people being more capable than Jedi in some - if not most - aspects. In her words, take the Force away from the most gifted Jedi, give them a lightsaber, and you will see nothing more than a man, a woman, or a child. The Jedi Order had grown too complaicant, arrogant, and hypocritical. Their teachings had also fell below the mark with this...well...laziness, I guess. Two prime examples of these things are Jedi Masters Atris and Lamar. Both arrogant, hypocritical, and acknowledged no self-fault. This was not only on them, but was being felt as a strain in all of the Order. As much as I hate to say it, Kreia knew this. The two main reasons that she used the exile to exact her revenge on the Jedi Council was to do just that - get revenge - and to also prove to them that her teachings were truth, and if one is to truly understand the Force that they would need the contrast (light and dark). Kreia wanted a Jedi Order that taught discipline and took action...not one that taught complaicancy and took a back-seat view of the galaxy. And what better way to do this than to rebuild it upon the shoulders of those who have lived hard lives in the real galaxy? Upon those who know the struggles of the common people? I also do not think that canon goes perfectly to the game. Who's to say how long it took for TSL game to come to completion? If it were to be placed under a chronological timeframe, it is possible that it could have spread over many months, if not a year. I do not believe that the exile lost all his knowledge of the Force, nor forgot all of his training; he only lost his connection to the Force and grew a little slow (like Obi-Wan in Ep. IV). But with time and practice, everything came back to him with great spead. When this occured, can't it be assumed that - if he was training most of his party members to be Jedi - he would have actually taught them everything he knew? Remember, the exile - because of his special knack with Force Bonds - is a highly skilled and crafted teacher. While he was still even a Padawan at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, he was already training and teaching others. He was on parr, if not already passed, many Jedi Knights of his day. Mical was even one of his students during this period. Mical was hoping that after the exile took his trials, he would take him as his Padawan. But the exile followed Master Revan to war, and the rest is history. Why do you not think that Mical is apt to teach others? He is very open-minded, he has had all of the basic training at the Academy before having failed to aquire a Master at the right time, he is a scientist, researcher, and historian for the Republic (with special emphasis on Jedi History), which means he has a wealth of knowledge on the subject, and he was then trained - fully - in the ways of the Force by the exile. How could he possibly not be the least bit qualified to be a trainer of Jedi? I will agree with you on the fact that other Jedi need to be involved. Those being Juhani, Jolee, and Bastila. We only know of Bastila's fate so I am keeping the hopes of others alive until I know any different. Again, thinking beyond the game's limitations (because there are many), I think that the exile probably trained his students thoroughly and well. Then again, that's just my opinion, but I'm sticking to it. Also keep in mind what Darth Traya said... "They were the Lost Jedi, you know? Upon which the future will be built." -- Darth Traya, TSL And if that doesn't make it any clearer, then I don't know what would. PS: Think of it as a kind of Luke Skywalker situation... PSS: As I have mentioned in many threads, many times before, I would love to see a Rakatan Jedi Master in this game; preferably on the Jedi Council. But hey, if not, just atleast have a Rakatan Jedi. -
How to Use The Special Attacks
Jedi Master Dakari replied to DARTHPON's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
To tell you the truth, Shien actually goes help your PC deflect blaster bolts better. I think that's the right one. Or is is Soresu? Which ever one it is for blaster bolt deflection. I switched to it during one of my games, when my character was being hounded with blaster bolts, and he truly, he sent almost every single one of the soaring back away from him. Maybe one or two hitting him out of the whole barrage. I even used the same form when in the Trayus Academy. I was in the curved hallway where you confront a Dark Jedi and her Dark Padawan with eight red Sith troops shooting at you. I used this lightsaber form along with Force Enlightenment, and they couldn't touch me. It was amazing...my character was actually fighting the two dark jedi all the while deflecting blaster bolts with every extra whirl of his lightsaber. I don't know how it worked. I can usually never see a difference. But when deflection is involved, I really can. -
That's right, he was brown! Get it right! Why you gotta go gettin all stereotypical for, huh? One of the many reasons Kreia used the exile to exact her revenge on him and the rest of the coucnil. While she was still a Jedi Master herself, they had all condemed her for her teachings. She taught her pupils all aspects of the Force. She did have a weatlh of knowledge, being the Jedi Historian for a good while. But most, if not all, of her pupils fell to the dark side. Instead of judging each pupil for their own actions, they judged her and her teachings as being flawed. Yet, they were to arrogant and hypocritical to see the flaws in their own teachings. And Master Lamar was probably the worst of his time. He regected any teachings or knowledge he himself was not taught or learn, and he criticized all too greatly when one wasn't "up to snuff" in his own personal opinion. PS: I called him Master Lamar in order to be techically correct. His first name was Vrook and his last name was Lamar. Think about it, you wouldn't go around calling Mace, "Master Mace" would you? No, it showes great disrespect toward that individual who has achieved such a status. We call Yoda, "Master Yoda" because we have no choice. That is the only name he is known to carry. And Yoda calles Obi-Wan, "Master Obi-Wan" because he simply can. I mean, Yoda is a Senior Member of the Jedi Council, and Obi-Wan had only recently been elevated to Jedi Master status. Though he does show Obi-Wan great respect at the end of Episode III where he actually does call him, "Master Kenobi". PSS: I really don't know why I just went into great detail over that. I just tend to do that from time to time. Please forgive me.

Star Wars Fan Art
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Shadowstrider's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They sure do! Check this one out! I'm still trying to figure out who this is. I think it might be concept art for Revan as a Jedi and Bioware never got around to it; or something like that. This one, I think, is the playable Revan. I mean, they resemble each other alot. -

Another thing that people seem to be forgetting is lip-syncing. If it is possible to do use motion capture technolgy for digital characters in movies, would it be too far of a stretch to ask that it be attempted for K3? No...no...just hear me out... I's not that bad of an idea considering that other games have already used it. All they would have to do is capture the voice actor's mouth movements and expressions as they read the dialogue and use that to build upon the game's digital characters. Not to mention that they will be using a far better gaming engine. I sincerely hope - and believe - that they will be using a better and more fluid gaming engine. I only ask that the over all game-play reamin the same. I have grown comfortable with what is in use, and I feel that it gives the KotOR series it's own personal feel. I would not mind having a "free-for-all" battle system, though I don't have that much of a problem with turn-based system we have. PS: Obsidian, Maya 7 is the way to go. Considering it is what was used for SW pre-viz and LotR digital animation... -

All the more reason for the PC to start as a Padawan being trained by a Knight; preferably Mical (Disciple). -

PS: I would also like to see less party members than K2. However, I would like the ones we get to have deep and emotional story-lines for the PC to discover. I don't know about anyone else, but I really get tired of hearing all there was to hear, have them stop at their certain point and then just begin repeating themselves all over again, and still feel like I've not discovered anything about them. Their same story does begin to get a little old around the fifth or sixth time of re-hearing it. You know? -

I greatly agree with this. And if my opinions were to be used, this could be one way to make this scenario work. metadigital, you're right on the button. TSL actually had a Prestige Class and Greater Presitige class system in order. If K3 were to go with my system, then the Jedi Knight class would be Prestige and the Jedi Master class would be Greater Prestige. The tools to do this are already there. They just need to be worked with and made more efficient. What you say is true, but I use me example for the efficiency of the game. Each level working simultaneously with the other. Where when the PC becomes a Knight, his master becomes a Jedi Master and leaves the party, etc. By the way, there are two ways a Knight can become a Master. The first is as you said; he/she can have or learn a skill of exceptional expertise or do something great. The second is for him or her to successfully train a Padawan to Jedi Knighthood. And with the equal levelling working, this would be the most efficient way within the game. Also, I never had any problem reaching level 30 in TSL. I did have this problem in K1 due to the level-cap, but that's a completely different issue. I guess I could change the level sequence to 1-9(Pad.) 10-19(Kni.) 20-...(Mas.) This might work a little better. But if jumping from Padawan to Knight simply because of the level is a problem, then maybe the PC's master could give him/her a task (Jedi Trial) at level 9. When that task is completed the PC is given enough XP points to level up and become a Jedi Knight. This notion was used in TSL when you reach level 15 (or is it 14?) When you talk to Kreia and become you're prestige class. Afterwards you are automatically give enough XP points to level-up again in your new class. See, everything is already in use, it just needs to be worked out a little. -

In KotOR III, I would love to see the end of 'Jedi Classes' (consisting of Jedi Consular, Jedi Sentinel, and Jedi Guardian), and have a return of the 'film classes' (consisting purely of Jedi Padawan, Jedi Knight, and Jedi Master.) I would really like for the PC to start off as a Jedi Padawan (levels 1-14) under the teaching of a Jedi Knight (levels 15-29). When the PC reaches level 15 and achieves the rank of Jedi Knight, his master achieves the rank of Jedi Master (having started off as level 15, now at 30) and leaves the party. The PC then gets asigned a Padawan (who starts off as level 1). When this Padawan reaches level 15 and becomes a Jedi Knight, the PC likewise reaches level 30 and is given the title and rank of Jedi Master. just pure and simple, like the movies. (Though the movies don't have levels.) It would also be nice, for once, to be a Jedi Master in one of these games and be acknowledged as such (Unlike in TSL). Wouldn't anyone else agree? I remember what Kreia said about Mical (Disciple); about him sitting on the new Jedi Council, although reluctantly. I have tickled the idea that maybe Mical could be the master to the main character, the apprentice. Then, when the PC becomes a Jedi Knight, Mical (subsequently a Jedi Master) is asked to join the Jedi Council and feels obligated to do so. Just a thought, of course. Coruscant (and the Jedi Temple) would be a very welcome sight in KotOR III. If my scenario is somehow read and used, I would love for the PC to start of there, finishing his basic training and then being taken on by Mical as his Padawan. Robes with hoods would also be a welcome sight. Also armor with helmets. I mean, if Mandalore (aka. Canderous) could wear one...not to mention all the npcs who have them (Mandalorians and Ubese)...why can't the PC and his/her party? The ability to alter your lightsaber hilt (design, engraving, and even color) is close to - if not absolutely - a MUST. Not every Jedi in the galaxy has the exact same lightsaber. Unless they were mass-produced in this period of time. But we learn time and time again that this is not the case. Well, that's about all I can think of for the time being. If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to post. PS: The taking away of the fake Jedi Classes and return to the traditional classes would also make every skill, feat, and force ability accessible to everyone. Such as, every Jedi would have the ability to Force Jump, and not like the previous games where this ability was restricted to only Jedi 'Guardians'. Forgive me for being frank, but isn't Yoda wrongly mistaken for being a Jedi Consular? Did he not also practice this technique? No, is is not a Jedi Consular, he is simply a Jedi Master. As Anakin was simply Jedi Padawan, and also used this ability. -
Most Intimidating Dark Lord of Kotor
Jedi Master Dakari replied to adamspag's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I recently tried to play through as a Sentinel again, and Malak kicked my ass from here to Timbucktu ... and then some. I'm sorry to all those Watchman lovers out there, but the Sentinel just sucks manass. And it's kinda funny to think ... my Consular slaughtered Malak in a heart-beat. Now tell me if that doesn't make any sense. -

Why The Jedi Are Stronger
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Slipstreme's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ooo ooo, BC83, read my signature. I think you'll likey. :D **Below is made-up fanfiction. Do not read if not interested.** In my own little made-up world (I love a good fan-fiction any day of the week) Jedi Master Dakari was the only one to ever teach these views. Though considered heretic views, he trained the most successful Jedi Knights - many whom became Masters - in his time. He even sat on the Jedi Council before being exiled because one of his former Padawans - then a Knight - feel to the Dark Side and killed his own apprentice. Though it wasn't Dakari's fault that it was his former student's own failing, Dakari still humbly accepted the judgement and entered politics. I think it's off to a good start. I can't wait until I actually have some time on my hands to write the story out. Anyway, this is way off topic. I'll shut-up now. -

Darth Traya vs. Darth Sidious
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Lord Orpheus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In terms of character creation ... I think so too. That's because Palpatine had the luxury of being a "Sith-in-hiding" his whole life while Traya was once a Jedi Master. So naturally, the other Masters would recognize her. But then, even right in their own arena, Kreia was able to hide her presence all together when she didn't want others to know she was around. Even Atris didn't see or sense her, but she was there. Yeah. I found it a little more than disturbing that this guy knows all that about the real SuperShadow. I think it might be due to the fact that he is SuperShadow and is simply creatin alter-egos on the net for attention. I confronted him about it, but he didn't admit to it. Who knows? Maybe he's not. -
What kinf of a Jedi was The Exile?
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Swinny's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No problem. In terms of lightsaber combat ... yes, the Weapon Master is more advanced and stronger then the Master. And advanced Weapon Master would slaughter a Jedi Master. Or atleast I did. But in the terms of Force powers and abilities ... the Jedi Master tops the list. My Master polverized(sp?) each and every room in the Trayus Academy with one Force Storn. While my Weapon Master had to take three or four tries. **Off Topic** I still think that they should do away with the classes in K3 and use the traditional classes - the Padawan, Knight, and Master. Starting off as a Padawan and leveling up, as you progress in the game, through the next respective titles. -

Jedi Master Dakari replied to adamspag's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
When I fist meet up with him I was not intimidated in the least. But then, when I had to restart from a previously saved game a gazillion times, my vote would have to go for Darth Bandon. I couldn't beat him for anything. I got better at it later on through more subsequent plays, but I did beat even Darth Malak on the first try, so my loosing to Bandon must account for something. He was a hardass. -
I just wish that someone would create better lightsaber sequences for these fanfilms. I almost always lower my head in shame at some of them. I think that maybe this Panic Struck company would be better off doing their own original stuff. PS: I think I could have played a better Emperor than their actor. I could atleast get the voice right; that guy was bad.
