Kreia on Telos
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Darth Slaughter II's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You don't have to search for some reason elsewhere because the reasons are right there in the game. You are just closed-minded individuals who look at nothing else but what you saw the first time you played the game, and will not try and look deeper into the story to find out why the things are as they are. Why? I don't know. I guess it's just too much work for you. All I can say is...if you're not playing K1 or K2 for the story, then you might as well not be playing them as all. Because that is what they are based on, good story. TSL has a great, deep story. But I guess it is just too deep for some. <_< I remember quite well that Palpatine fried Windu's tail pretty toasty before throwing him out of the widow of his office into the depths of Coruscant. And he also threw Yoda a good punch one time as well. I realize that Palpatine is a Sith Lord and not a Dark Jedi, but if these two instances are not "Force Lightning or choke a Jedi Master", then I don't know is. And like is said before, I don't think that Kreia was invisible. I do believe, however, that she was able to be seen, but keep her identity a secret. Also, she didn't kill the Jedi Masters. What she did was drain them - or cut them off from - the Force. She did this to prove that her teachings were correct, that their dogmatic teachings were flawed, and that life can exist without the Force. This is why the exile is so precious to her, because he is proof. The three masters were simply either too afraid, or too weak, to be able to live without the Force. So they died as a side-effect. She may have cause them to be killed, but she did not kill them. -
Star Wars Tales #24
Jedi Master Dakari replied to firehawk12's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I stand corrected... I read a bio on Jerec and it says that he wore thin shades to cover where his eyes should be. I also read that Miralukai are indistiguishable from humans other than their lack of physical eyes; and that when traveling they usually wear veils(like Visas's), vizors, or shades(like Jerec's) to give the illusion that they have eyes, so others will mistake them for being human. I suspect that if they ever wanted too, they could get occular implants. Seeing as how they have empty eyes sockets - that are simply covered over with skin - suggests that the species did, at one time, have phyical eyes. Perhaps their homeworld went dark and they no longer needed eye-sight. Who knows... -
Atris vs Nihilius
Jedi Master Dakari replied to The Crazy Freak's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't thinks that it's spectacular, but it is way much better than what happens in-game (which I don't believe to be the real deal). Your idea, if made a mod, would put Atris and Nihilus back into the game the way they were meant to be. Atris was supposed to duel Nihilus in this game. We can gather that much by all the concept and promotional art that was released with that very duel depicted. But because LucasArts rushed the game, Obsidian had to sell it short of what they wanted it to be. This mod, if made, would add that duel back into the game and help the stroyline flow better - and make more sense - than what it currently does in the game. Good job! -
Kreia on Telos
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Darth Slaughter II's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't know...I got the impression Atris wasn't the brightest bulb in the bunch..... " Atris was a fart in the wind compared to Yoda. Then again, that is only opinion. It is my belief that they could see her and knew she was there. However, I think she was able to use the Force to cloud their memories and judgment to the point that they did not know who she was, and also could not sense that she could use the Force(as indicated above). In their clouded opinion, she was just some weazy old woman running around behind you...until, at last, she allowed their minds to remember, and... **BOOM** "Is this your master now, Exile!?" -
KOTOR I's Jedi Robes & KOTOR II's Jedi Robes
Jedi Master Dakari replied to a topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This whole discussion about the games' robes is ridiculous. It would slightly be better to argue why the lanscape of Dantooine changed so drastically from K1 and K2...or why there is a door to a tomb where there was nothing but solid cave rock on Korriban. " Look, my point is (and it has been stated before) that the engine, when being used by Bioware for K1, wasn't able to handle the types of robes seen in K2. Had it been able to, trust me, we would have seen them. Also, your argument isn't very valid anyway. Forgive me if I'm wrong but Arca Jeth, Nomi Sunrider, and others are a good bit of time before K1. Their robes are the same style as those seen in K2. Your argument may be that "Well, they were in K2; that's why!" But, then again, this argument could continue in an unending spiral. I personally like the robes in K2 and I don't think that having them look close to those of the PT is too far fetched. And it actually makes sense to me to actually have them look like robes and not tunics; being how that is what they are...robes. I completely understand. I downloaded the Short Robes mod and noticed the Quatra's and Jorak Uln's robes feature the "Mentor" feat. I found this very interesting, and I feel it makes alot of sense because they were both master (one a Jedi, one a Sith). I would like for the Jedi Master robes in K3 to have this feat (and maybe others) because all Jedi Masters are, or were, mentors (unless they wear the title by honorary means). -
Kreia on Telos
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Darth Slaughter II's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, I was kinda clued in by how she talked of herself (and the way the masters) talked of her earlier in the game, and by her change of wardrobe. But back on topic... Also, these "new Sith" (then assassins in particular) are the result of 'special teachings' in that as their enemy grows or weakens in the Force, so do they. In other words...if their target is weak, then they too will be weak. But if their target is strong, they they will be strong as well. Kreia possibly also knows this tecniqu and might have used it, too, to aid in concealing her identity from the masters. -
Kreia on Telos
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Darth Slaughter II's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually, they intended for this being one of he plot-points. And I think that the writer for this game did a really good job. Granted, I could have done without the word "echo" every other breath...but can't help that. Did none of you never ask her "On these worlds we travel to, why do the other Jedi Masters seem to not notice you?" She replies with, "Ignorance, perhaps. Or maybe they simply do not remember or care." You can then say something to the affect of "Are you sure?"One you say this she will tell you this, "There are techniques within the Force that can allow one to hide their presence from others." You can ask her whether she uses this technique on you. She will say, "No. But even if I did you would not know it." If you reply with an 'I do not trust you' response she will commend you with "Then you are learning." Do you not also remember their are places in the galaxy that are either teeming with life, or scarred by war and death that allow one to drown in the Force, making it difficult to sense other Force-sensatives? That is one reason the Jedi Masters traveld to the worlds they did; so they can hide their presence from Darth Nihilus. In like manner Kreia could use that, plus her unique abilities with the Force, and go completely unnoticed...when she did not wish to be sensed. Master Vrook even went over this with the exile after being asked if he encountered any sign of a Sith presence on Dantooine. He eventually commented with, "If there are any here, I cannot sense them." Does any of that help? -
I have seen this occur on almost way too many threads around the forums and it irritates me to the hilt... People, it makes no sense to quote the entire post of the person directly before you. Especially if that person - in turn - quoted the three people directly infront of him/her. And sometimes, when this is done, it is only followed by a simple, solitary, icon...or something of that nature. I understand there is sometimes a need to quote in order to make it clear what you are referring to. However, when you are referring to a post right before (or a few places behind) your own comments, it does nothing more than to add unnecessary clutter to the board. Just say what you have to say and let that be that. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now. And I'm sorry that I had to get on it in the first place. It just so happens that this is a common occurrence and I felt like I needed to address the issue.

That depends on how the glass came to be half-way... If you pour substance into the glass half-way, then it's half-full. If substance was already in the glass, but you poured it out half-way, then the glass is half-empty. Atleast that's the way I prefer to look at it. Back on topic however, I feel they are just busy with their current project(s), as stated before.

I've never heard of this. What world was it? And what was was supposed to take place? I understand exactly how you feel. I've thought about it a couple times myself.

If you have XBOX Live (even with the "free" trial) you can get Yavin on the XBOX version. I wouldn't waste my time though, it's nothing to rejoice about. I, personally, could have done without it and been just fine. However, with the PC versions of the game you can get more than just Yavin. There are tons upon tons of mods (modifications) people have created, for both games. They can make your game more fun and and interesting. That way, you're not just repeating the same thing over and over...there can be something new everytime.

OMG! Ravager sound sets are hilarious!
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Darth Kavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I noticed those same things. But, I had the XBOX version, so I never went into any trouble to find out what the deal was. -
Jeremy Soule or Mark Griskey
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Jambo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Jeremy Soule does most sythesized music. But he does it so well you can rarely tell the difference between it and fully orchestrated works. I like the fact that the music for K2 was fully orchestrated, but I simply prefer Jeremy Soule's music to Mike Griskey's. Has anyone ever listened to The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind soundtrack? It is really nice work. I downloaded the main theme on LimeWire and I listen to it alot. I was playing it in my dorm one night and my room-mate started humming along with it. -
Traya character you liked in K2
Jedi Master Dakari replied to vaxen83's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
PS: She wanted to kill the Force because she is not a Sith and because she is not a Jedi. Whenever something bad happens, what do the Jedi say? "It was the will of the Force." She hated the fact that the Force has a will. She hated the fact that innocent people suffered and died because of the will of the Force. She hated the fact that entire worlds and civilizations could be destroyed and the only excuse the Jedi could give (or reason, for the Sith) was "the will of the Force." She viewed the Force an an uncaring, stagnant, mayby even hypocritical entity that needed to be done away with. She believed that that would be the only to finally bring peace to the galaxy; for all who would be strong enough to deafen themselves to it and survive...like the exile. And that, my friend, is why she loved the exile and found him/her precious. He meant in the sense of the way the Jedi (and common public) viewed Force powers. Also, the Jedi try their best to believe in the natural flow of things. Healing a wound will not inhibit that flow. But to preserve your own (or someone else's) life for your own selfish means, and not becoming one with the Force...that is a whole new matter. -
Traya character you liked in K2
Jedi Master Dakari replied to vaxen83's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Thank you. Though, in truth, there is no light or dark side of the Force. The Force is simply there and itself. But it is what the person has in his or her own heart, and what they are willing to do, that makes the difference. Kreia is neither Sith nor Jedi. She was a Jedi Master at one time, and she was also a Sith Lord (or Sith Lady to be exact) at one time. However she found that neither code or dogmatic view held much truth. And you have just proven our point. Trying to kill the Force would make her no more a Sith than it would a Jedi. Remember, the Sith live, hunger, and die for power. The power of the Force. No, that was not a Sith thing she was trying to do. It was the polar opposite. Yes, she did use the PC as a means of getting revenge, but she did so all the while fulfilling her primary goal. She felt that the Jedi Masters and Sith Lords were too powerful - yet too ignorant of the Force and common knowledge - to be walking around with their power unchecked. She tried to, in a sense, bring balance. And she knew that if her ultimate goal (killing the Force) was not achieved, then she atleast would have done something. -
What happens to GOTO
Jedi Master Dakari replied to DarkAngle's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I know who and what G0-T0 is...but I ask the same question as the poster as to "is there a bug or a patch for this[getting the fuel shipped to Telos]?" -
I did make him up, but I am working on some fan-fiction that I hope to get online sometime soon. If you still wanna know though: Seraphis Dakari was a Twi'lek Jedi Master and senior member of the Jedi High Council. He fought in one of the first rounds of fighting on Ruusan shortly after being Knighted, but came back to Coruscant to take on an apprentice. He taught his students the very intricacies of the Light Side, but he also taught them how to use the Dark Side as a tool and shield for the Light. After a highly successful career as a Jedi Master that spanned over a hundred years, and after training many successful students, one of his former Padawans fell to the Dark Side and killed her own apprentice shortly after master Dakari took on a new Padawan. Jedi Master Dakari and his new apprentice were assigned the task to seek out and bring in his former student to face judgment. However, Seraphis was forced to kill her. When he and his padawan returned the Jedi Council had turned on their Senior Member and exiled him from the Order. They blamed his teachings for her fall, and banned them from Jedi literature, lore, and training. Essentially whipping clean his very existence from Jedi history. Many former students of his were then sent to the Agriculture Corps and those who stayed were forbidden to train others. Considering how Dakari's last apprentice had been under his tutelage for a very short time, he was not faced with these same restrictions, and eventually became one of the wisest and most powerful Jedi of the Order. Can you guess who that is? " PS: Sorry for the book...

Which Jedi Master was a great teacher?
Jedi Master Dakari replied to vaxen83's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Granted, Vrook knows his stuff. I played the game through on Dark Side once or twice. The first time I was shocked at how powerful Vrook was. I was like, "Oh, $hit...." And yeah, he flattened me like a pancake. But luckily I saved right before the fight started. But my point is: Did he ever - once - give you the benefit of a doubt? Did he ever - once - try and keep from fighting to ask why you were fighting? After you freed him from the mercenaries, then threatened him, did he atleast stop to say "Wait a minute."? No! He rushed right into battle. And if he even had any second thought's about it, they were that he only wished he had destroyed you earlier! He even said this during the game, while fighting in the cave. Forgive me if I am wrong but...Force Sight might have indicated him as Light Side, but it is my opinion that his attitude had him on the fast track to falling to the Dark Side. PS: And he accuses Revan and the exile for having a lust for battle. Hah! This is where his arrogance and "self-infallibility" factor comes into play. Some Jedi. <_< -
Which Jedi Master was a great teacher?
Jedi Master Dakari replied to vaxen83's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, Master Zhar did state: "Even the masters know that their training is but in it's infancy." A lesson Vrook never took too kindly to...and learned too late. In Force training and knowledge, my opinion is that Kreia was the better. She was a well of knowledge of both the light and the dark and tried to teach her students to utilize both for the greater good. In raw strenght and battle training, my opinion is that Kavar was the better. He was a Jedi warrior of legendary status and was a military strategist on parr with Revan. In humility and reflection, my opinion is that Zez Kai-El was the better. He finally came to realization of the arrogance and faulty teachings that plaqued the Jedi Order. After being made aware of this, he could have taught many students back to the right path. Masters Vrook and Atris do not make a blip on my radar screen. They were the pinnacles of the Jedi Order's faults. They were haughty, arrogant, self-absorbed, and full of pride. This eventually gets passed on from Master to Padawan. A prime example of this is that one of Vrook's own last few Padawans followed Revan to war and fell to the Dark Side. Considering how Atris had never trained a Padawan, then she had much still to learn...as a Jedi only truly begins to understand the Force better when they begin to teach others. Compared to the other Masters she was still a babe; a Jedi Master of "honorary" status only...for lack of a better term. Well, that's my take on it... -
...and Jolee, and Juhani, and Dustil, and Mekel, and Yuuthura(yes, she could have lived and been converted)... Also, the Rakata were on the verge of introducing themselves to the Force once more. And keep in mind, the Miraluka Tragedy killed the last (official) Jedi Council...not the Jedi Order itself. Only few and select Jedi Masters went. There were plenty of other Masters who - not part of the Jedi High Council - stayed behind. That's not including all the Jedi Knights, Padawans, and Apprentices who were still teaching, learning, and training.

Which Jedi Master was a great teacher?
Jedi Master Dakari replied to vaxen83's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually, he had a great impact on the game. After the Council exiled you, he left his post and self-exiled himself from the Order. He finally saw the weakness that plagued the Jedi...their arrogance. He was my favorite Jedi Master because he knew this, and didn't hold himself up in such an elevated position as Vrook or Atris. Kavar was okay, but he still thought the Jedi were, in a sense, infallible. I'm right there with ya, buddy, As Kreia put it, "You will need the contrast, if you are to truly understand." Meaning: The Force itself holds to no idealistic, dogmatic view. It has no Light Side or Dark Side; it is simply the Force. The Jedi limit themselves by holding only to their pre-set boundaries and what has been labled as "light side". The Sith limit themselves by holding to raw power and ability, and that alone. They do not seek enlightenment in any shape, form, or fashion. They want only brute force and strength. Nothing more. A teacher who knows both can show you the raw power and ability of the Dark Side, while also teaching you the intricasies and knowledge of the Light Side. My signature can explain it better because I don't want this post to be a book. -
Star Wars Tales #24
Jedi Master Dakari replied to firehawk12's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I hate how people just assume that if it's fantasy/sci-fi and someone is blind, "they don't have eyes". Do people not realize that Kreia, too, was blind!? But yet she had eyes! She, like the Miraluka species, saw through the Force. Unlike Master Hortoth, they allowed the Force to see for them. Put simply: Although they do not "see" as we do, Miralukai DO have physical eyes. Their sight is just on a much higher plain than others'. EDIT: I must give the artist props, though. It is good work. -
KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Jedi Master Dakari replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This might be due to the fact that the Knights of the Old Republic name was already out there because of its predecessor. Everyone who already knew of K1 naturally knew of K2. The marketing that did go into it was probably directed at the few-and-far-between who had not heard of it yet. -
Quite frankly, I don't remember K2 being all that cheap. If anything, it probably cost more to make and market it than the first one. The only reason it might have felt cheap was because LucasArts made Obsidian rush it to the finish line (incompleted) and out to the stores so they could get that Christma$ money. If K3 is in development (which I have no doubt that it is, or will be soon) then LucasArts better stay off that high-horse of theirs and let the developers finish the game and send it only when they are absolutely sure that it is the way they intended it to be. Had Obsidian been given this opportunity in the first place, then K2 would have been so much more than it is. PS: LucasArts also needs to realize that if any game has "Star Wars" on the title, then it's going to sale...regardless of the time of year.

Dev thoughts on the Nin Revolution Controller
Jedi Master Dakari replied to kumquatq3's topic in Developers' Corner
I think it looks more like a remote than a controller...and that I might never get the hang of it. It looks too uncomfortable to work with. Then again, I'll just wait till it comes out, where I can try it, before making too much of an assesment about it.
