  1. You regenerate slightly faster for each point of your con bonus, yeah.
  2. You still have to do the nice happy things that'll make her happy, and fight (and win) against her to gain enough influence. DS ---> do the things someone likes, no matter what their alignment ---> they turn darkside.
  3. You regenerate one HP every 6 seconds. I assume that it was put in for balance since they removed warping back to the Ebon Hawk/other bases but it kinda adds a lot to making the game crazy-easy.
  4. Y'know, I kinda dug Sion, but for someone HELD TOGETHER ENTIRELY BY HATRED AND THE DARK SIDE, he was awfully warm and fuzzy.
  5. i upped my strength to 96 with powers and i destroyed buildings with a single hit and i did like 690 thousand points of damage each time and i PWNED ok i PWNED the WORLD and my lightsaber is THIS BIG. ------------------------------------------
  6. She's embarrassed to come out in the same clothes she was wearing when you knew her ten years ago. Bet she never washes them.
  7. I just wish they could *both* make it. Is that so wrong? sigh.
  8. Yeah, uh, you might not want to get them mixed up in real life.
  9. For PC, get the Miles sound tools and use the player to, well, play them.
  10. I'm getting some webspace so I can post a few clips of the sound files for X-Box users (who presumably can't get to these files, or it's a lot harder, or what? I'm clueless about consoles). Yeah, I felt like that too, but fortunately I have just the tool for dealing with it.
  11. There are sound waves for both Atris and Kreia speaking the exact same dialogue from that section.
  12. I do think the writing was better for KOTOR2, but I didn't find the characters in KOTOR1 lifeless at all. I think that part of the reason the characters seem more fleshed-out in the sequel is because they're far, far, far more ****ed-up than KOTOR1's characters were. That's not necessarily depth, although it certainly passes for it in many circles.
  13. I recall the animation looking a lot like the remote exploded. When I rushed in to kill G0-T0 for hurting the precious widdle remote and saw it happily bobbing around, I figured that he "just" altered its programming, but it didn't look like it.
  14. Strong combination? Um... just play the game and you'll be a badass. My LS Guardian/Weaponmaster, focused on dex, had over 400 force points by the end (more than she had HP) and could spam force lightning all day long. Whee. Force jump doesn't come into play until around level 13 or so, because it can't be used without a lightsaber. However, only guardians and weaponmasters/marauders have access to lightsaber specialization, greater weapon focus (3 feats) and greater two weapon fighting. Usually when there's a dialogue option opened by skills, there are other dialogue options opened up by other abilities/skills as well and you can't choose all of them. You don't need to play sentinel if you're doing so grudgingly: you can get awareness, persuade, and treat injury with a 14-int guardian, after all. Computer use is good, and there's a wider variety of options for it but not as many "zap the room" options as last time. It comes up in dialogue a fair amount. If you really want a character build for sentinel, I'd suggest: 10 strength (items do massive damage anyway) 14 dex (finesse, finesse, and Defense is important since you'll probably want to go armorless if you want to use all your powers) 12 con (implants aren't that great unless you get the apparently randomized high-level 18-con required one) 14 int (really, you don't need *every* skill) 14 wis 14 cha Balance... in all things. Or just go with a consular/weaponmaster, like you want. You won't be able to get all the dialogue ever in one playthrough even if you have a crazy skill-high character, so just accept it.
  15. grrr. there goes my reason for playing as a female pc. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, don't worry, Mira still thought that my female PC, at least, was super-hot (and not in a bugged way).
  16. Thanks for separating all that, HighPriest. I think you may be right about the placement of the Atton-casual-talk at the very ending - good God, to end the game with light banter? That's a twist. Yes, the cut stuff makes the game even more similar to PST. Big deal. It makes the game *better* and gives an actual ending, rather than just tossing you out alone without a clue about where your companions went, except for Mira who appears somewhere and just sorta runs off. Given that the game was released still buggy and still jagged in terms of story, I don't have much hope for these endings being added. I won't make judgements about whether or not they care about the game, but it looks like they've fully moved on to NWN2. Trials of the Luremaster was added because of complaints that HoW was too short, not because of story issues. The "Ascension" mod added to ToB is a better comparison, but it mostly added combat and some "new" story things, not an actual, um, ending, since the game already had one. So... anyone know how to program? I don't have access to my computer right now, but there are more dialogues in there. There might still not be enough included to make sense, but we might be able to put together a coherent story if we have T3 explaining things to the Exile through a dialogue - even something as simple as "oh no your party members all got knocked off the ship" - since T3 just uses beeps and stuff, we can re-use his sound files from other parts of the game. Or maybe they all knock the Exile out and run ahead to fight Kreia, because they know that Kreia intends to destroy her, and they leave behind T3 to tell part of the story, and part of the message (maybe personalized depending on male/female and who's romanced) on a datapad. They tackle Kreia, she knocks them back and leaves them for dead or almost dead. If LS female, Atton is the only one who gets back up, because that's his thing and because of luuuuuuuuuurve, and Kreia rolls her eyes and lets Sion have him. He's apparently supposed to look pretty awful when the Exile reaches him (after Sion fight? before? after works better since it'd be hard to add things to the Sion dialogue) and I wonder if there's a special one-armed bloody Atton model still in the files somewhere. After his speech, he either dies, or can be healed if you have one of the force healing powers but still falls unconscious from the near-deathness and can't go on with the Exile. Then after you fight Kreia, maybe add an option to say "screw you, I'm not ditching my friends even if the True Sith are going to eat their souls" so that Atton can have his end speech. The end speech doesn't seem like it'd work very well for DSers, maybe there's another one in there somewhere. Play the end video of the Hawk taking off, or just cut to credits. If LS male, after the endgame Handmaiden or Visas crawl to their feet, and uh, you have to tell them that you're abandoning them forever. But then what video to play? sigh. If DS female, I guess Atton runs in to Disciple somewhere on the planet, attacks him, and they both die? In my regular game when we fought Sith before boarding the Ravager, he briefly freaked out and said he was overwhelmed with the urge to kill, or such. There's also apparently stuff in the dialogue files about him willingly betraying you to Kreia - I don't know if that's dependent on gender. Cut to scene of Kreia laughing evilly, or such. If DS male, Handmaiden attacks Visas, both die, Kreia laughs.
  17. I've searched and found sound files for all of those lines except for the Dustil thing (still may be there). They're very real. I get the impression that they wanted to leave the game ending more open-ended, y'know, like a gaping wound. There was probably last-minute uncertainty about whether or not there'd be a sequel and so it might not be good to kill off half the main characters. Still, good god, it would've been nice to have some closure.
  18. I'm kind've exhausted right now, I might go over it tomorrow and space out the lines - but I don't always know exactly where the line breaks should be and who's saying which line, so it's hard. I don't know if this was actually cut from the game, but I played LS female and didn't come across him, so here's an encounter with Dustil Onasi: {Dustil has been trapped here a while and he is stark, raving mad} Another vision! Don't think I can't see through this deception. The vision leaves, only to sneak up later when I am less aware. Better to silence it now.{screaming, louder at end}You won't have me! You won't have me!{mocking}Ah, the existential vision. What causes me? Why am I a vision? {serious}Deceptive vision. Dustil the Jedi is wise to your tricks.{mocking and ranting}"I am not a vision" says the vision. Ha! Well then, I am not Dustil Onasi, son of Carth, no. I am not a Jedi either.I am Jedi. So proud, so proud to be. I escaped the dark side only to return. Why did I return? Why? The other Jedi wanted to. They tricked me. Oh, they tricked me. I did not know then that they were all visions. Visions all.The vision speaks of my father, not knowing I killed him twenty two times, and he has killed me, but I did not die.He won't be coming back for me, not again. With his tricks. {shouting}His tricks! {tortured yell}Oh, father! {sobbing}Why did you leave?!Of course the vision knows my name. It probes my thoughts. But I am learning the tricks, I am. Soon I will block them out entirely.{ranting quiety to himself}Yes, questions. Visions always have questions for Dustil... before the killing starts. I won't answer! {yelling}Hear me apparition! I won't answer!I'll be going now.Do you know what causes the visions here?I am not a vision. You are a Jedi?Carth? You are Carth Onasi's son?You are Dustil? You killed those other Jedi!Who are you talking about?Who are you?DustilOnasiGeneral! Is the way clear?I have new orders for you. 20. Well, I just finished the game for the first time, and the cut sound file thread intrigued me, so I dug through dialog.tlk. There's a scene with Atton being tortured by Sion, followed by him confessing his love to the female PC while he's dying, the PC talking to Handmaiden about how he has to go, but she needs to stay behind and train the Jedi, and some stuff where Kreia fights (and apparently easily kills) your party members who have come to challenge her (including Handmaiden and Atton). I am depressed that this was cut out - I suppose it's because they wanted to leave the game more open-ended, and that it'd be worse if the party members are actually all killed off, but at least there's some *closure.* I was utterly depressed that none of my party members even talked to me about the coming battle as I left to fight Kreia! The sound files are there for Atton, at least. I'll try to find if others exist, and if there's more to put the situations in context (not that all of the stuff that happens in the endgame anyway has context). Some of this stuff might actually be in the game, but I've never heard anyone mention it. The stuff is all blocked-together, sorry, but it has descriptions about the action, so: Atton torture/death/love: ?{[At the end, Sion cuts off his arm, then leaves Atton on the ground, writhing in pain but Atton staggers to his feet, still wounded. 21. Just called my EBGames, Southern Californa, 45 minutes from Obsidian studios and who knows how far from Lucasarts: they'll have it tomorrow.
  22. 1) "Imagined," not built, as if they wanted to create characters without the absurd, meaningless restrictions of weighted point-buy, which I can certainly understand. The characters still turn out uneven even then, though, which is kinda sad. Poor, poor Mira. 2) I said not quite so far-out, not un-far-out.
  23. Wookiees gain the racial adjustment of +4 strength, -2 dex/wis/cha, so Hanharr's not quite so far-out. It looks like the characters were imagined using unweighted point-buy (though that doesn't make them even either), which would be fine with me if the PC could use unweighted point-buy too. Meh.
  24. Looks like Jesus with a haircut.
