  1. I love the game. Has it's problems, both story and gameplay wise, but I've never met a game that didn't. As to bugs...I'm sure if I'd had a lot of them, like some people, I'd be bothered too...but I didn't, so I have no serious complaints in that regard.
  2. While some of the points may be valid (not just for this game or the gaming industry, but for the entire entertainment/political/world blah blah) there are far worse examples than this particular game. Focusing on those might be more productive for your 'cause' than trolling this forum. Sex and the body image is part of life, trying to neuter everything into some kind of generic, bland, avoidant & politically correct atmosphere is improbable and probably actually harmful in some ways. One can take such noble ideals to an extreme.
  3. Ahhhh.........thank you that's exactly how I feel about that pair. That line of playing pazaak w/me also melts my heart. And I don't care about his 'dark past' - we all have skeletons in our closet - war doesn't exactly leave many innocents if you know what I mean. And Disciple...I don't know why I like him so much. He is a little creepy looking but something about his attitude grew on me. *shrug
  4. The one Atris has that is 'yours' is just for show. You'll never lay hands on it. Silver Crystal - random from places/shops or yeah, the little lady-alien shopkeeper in the main square hub in Nal Sha. Although I think you may have to do the quest (the first part of it) before it shows up - I don't remember tho. I've gotten one from the shop in Telos before, however. Cyan there too. Just reload and reload till he coughs it up. Not that that helps you at the moment probably.
  5. We paid about $750(us) for the parts to build ours....which didn't come with all the software, of course. motherboard/cpu/hd/dvd/ram/case etc. I don't like Dell personally - half the serious problems related to games that my friends have had were all on Dell's. Probably just bad luck in their cases.... but regardless, I'm with Kaftan, I just prefer knowing what I'm getting by buying all the parts myself. I rarely have any of the major 'game bugs' that people complain about even on very bugged games. Maybe that has nothing to do with it - but I'm all superstitious about it now. lol *knock on wood
  6. I'm disappointed in the dark lords. Cheetos are much better than Cheezits.
  7. Not to mention, if you go to Dxun first, you're then stuck there for it's inital duration, regardless of how fast you get your saber. I don't like being 'penned' in like that so early.
  8. So far into Kotor1, I like the overall color 'look' in Kotor2 better. But I'm not very far yet... Edit - oh...doh..menu screen...didn't catch that. I like the color blue better, but I prefer the menus from #2...easier to read IMO.
  9. The difference is that if time is moving in the game world (ie non-paused) then something in the gameplay should reflect it. They try to motivate you with all that 'no time' hollering but pfffft. I understand that 'serious' timing of quests isn't generally done in RPG's, but Kotor would easily be adapted to it - it doesn't have to be an actual clock ticking away 10 seconds. Something more akin to the general feeling of time pressure in strategy games perhaps, for a couple quests. Not the whole game...just a few events.
  10. I'll chime in... Since I like to snag Disciple I go Dantooine. 1 - telos part 2 - visas part by leaving/re-entering the ship etc. 3 - run past all the monsters to get the salvenger guy part (I never buy it, I always do the 'lie' option) 4 - grab Disciple & turn him to Jedi (I'm lvl 13-14 at this point) 5 - completely ignore the rest of Dantooine to fly to Nal Shad and run to get Atton turned to Jedi (I ignore everything else except the 3 'hijackings' I can't ignore to get there) 6 - deal with the guys on my ship 7 - go where ever and do whatever I want from there
  11. "We have to hurry!" "There's not much time, we must go!" etc. etc. Then leave the game running, go made some food, come back, and what do you know...apparently you have all the time in the world after all. As much as I usually dislike 'timed' events in games (seems cheap somehow) I think this game might have benefited by a couple such events, even if it wasn't a seriously stressful timed event. Either that, or stop having npc's holler about lack of time...I find it distracting to the immersion when I know they're lying.
  12. Bother..I don't know why I ask these things. Comes from being unknowledgeable/unconfident in graphic cards. Just going to install this one. If it sucks I'll give it to hubby and go buy the expensive one. Har.
  13. To answer the question.....no. She'll turn on you no matter what. At least, I haven't found a (legit) way. Edit - although I haven't tried just running away from her...that might make the quest unwinnable tho or something
  14. I broke down and bought Kotor1 tonight, so I guess I'm doing things backwards. Typical of me. At least I'll understand more of the history/story now, I guess.
  15. Hehe I might do that once I figure out what I'm doing (or not doing) site-wise.
  16. ah...good old cjb.net. I have a couple friends using them. InvisionFree is good too, if you like inivison forum software better. Looks good..good luck with that. I have this wild hankering to create a whole genre game (not just kotor) image/upload/archive site myself.
  17. After reading this....tell me...I just bought the geforce AGP 6200, because, well, because I didn't want to pay $300-500 for the newer ones, and it's all that was in the store I went to this evening. In general price isn't a financial concern, but I am cheap in that I refuse to pay a lot for features/abilities I don't care about. While I do want games to look good and have decent overall performance I'm not concerned whether I get super-duper FPS or overclocking abilities etc. Hell I don't think my eyes even notice half the improvements people rave about. So basically - before I go to the trouble of installing this thing - think the 6200 would do fine for someone like me or is there some compelling reason to go back out and hunt for the basic 6600 or 6800 instead?
  18. How exactly does this work.......I mean, I know your NPC's auto-level up to 'your level' when you get them, or when you add them to your party etc. But I've noticed that the further into each playthrough I go, the more they fall behind. Usually by a couple of levels. So there must be situations where they do not gain experience while I do (I read one post that mentioned one of those situations). I looked at that save game editor and noticed that each NPC has their own experience plus the 'party experience'. What is the individual NPC experience used for? Is there a way to get them to catch up? I get a little tired of them falling behind. It's irritating that they implement this 'auto npc level up' feature and yet they stil can't seem to keep up with the player character in exp.
  19. The term hydrospanner always makes me think of Star Trek.
  20. I just realized non-registered folk couldn't post comments on pictures. I thought I had that feature turned on...bah. Well it's on for now.
  21. He should get married. (Joking!!)
  22. Grey eyes? What grey eyes? I see blue eyes, and brown eyes in the game. Sure, not vibrant colors...but not grey. Not saying different colored eyes wouldn't be cool sometimes...but I sure don't see grey...
  23. Well, this whole thing has greatly improved my graphic editing skills. It has not, however, been any good for the terrible disease which constantly plagues me - the one called "piddling away too much time." Thanks for all the uploads so far people...think it's time for a short break for me.
  24. Congrats on the new PC. I built/upgraded to a P4-3ghz/1gb ram etc. last month and I bet it'll be outdated in about a year and a half. Sigh. Feels good to be able to play games on this rig and feel up to date for once. I'm usually years behind in PC tech. I left my old one as a Win98 machine for old games. heh
  25. Well the very 1st was some little game on the very first Nintendo system (only console I've ever bought), but I don't remember it's name. After that, probably Diablo1 (I know it's not a 'real' RPG to some but it still introduced me to building characters). From there, Baldurs Gate1 and the Might&Magic series of RPG's. The rest is history.
