  1. I've read that too - maybe not so much the opposite, but not written to be so humorous/action-stunt packed or something? The movies added the gadgets and such, they're supposedly not in the books, really. The Roger Moore Bond movies were the campiest, imo. Brosnan was ok but the movies got too outlandish action-wise...I wouldn't mind a bit of a departure from the usual Bond "formula" - it'll be interesting to check the film out.
  2. "Well I chill in deep space A mask is over my face." LOL...creative and funny game video.
  3. I agree. I don't like the new Doc nearly as much - he plays it too slapsticky. <_< I like Christopher a lot too. I find myself watching Heroes on Sci-Fi rerun on Fridays more than on it's network day...so I just saw the last one. Hiro in the picture thing - major paradox. Unless the gal is suddenly alive once he left, and Hiro's buddy doesn't know it yet, Hiro hasn't changed the ultimate outcome by going back...which means even if he was stuck in the past for a few weeks, it's rather illogical for him not to be able to return to the shop after her death occured in his altered time line. Or something. Time stuff gives me a headache. Unless, of course, he's skipped into a parallel timeline/universe by accident. " Also, I realize the way the plot is going, we're going to meet a lot of 'special' people so this murdering bad guy can do his thing and we can have an evolutionary explanation for it all or soemthing, but is anyone else getting a little tired of it seeming like everyone around the corner is "special?" It makes the main characters less unique and thus, to me, less interesting. But I do like the way the cheerleaders father is turning out.
  4. I remember Lanfear. I wish I could recall the others I talked to a lot - I'm so bad with names tho. Good times, definitely.
  5. Well the easiest way to tell would be to reinstall the game sans the patch and see if they occur. There are some people who've reported more small glitches w/the patch than without. Otherwise...such minor yet annoying graphical snags can be hard to troubleshoot. Could be a lot of things.
  6. Yeah, that she does. I just wasn't sure if you actually got a DS hit in all of those situations - seems like there were some influence things that gave no DS/LS hit at all and wasn't sure what the balance was. At any rate - I never had any major trouble gaining enough influence with her for the plot and staying LS.
  7. Pop - that was minor surgery? What happened to the hand? It looks a bit like some spiders or ants had lunch while you were sleeping.
  8. Anyone else post on the BG msg. boards that were threaded and oldschool in format? I'm not sure there were even post count counting abilities, but I don't recall. It was so many years ago...I don't even remember what nick I used. heh I remember when they made/moved to "new" boards that was closer to current forum formats, but I never really went there much - I'm kinda assuming the stats are from that "new" forum?
  9. Kreia is Neutral - she doesn't like it when you go too far to either side. The story re: her involvement may seem to flow more smoothly from a narrative point of view, perhaps, if you go DS vs. LS, but far as I know you're not gaining better personal influence. Generally speaking if you kill someone during her influence situations, she bickers at you - if you're too sympathetic, she also bickers at you. There are a few exceptions tho. Also far as I remember, there are oppurtunties to influence her that are both DS and LS point related. I checked gamefaqs but unfortunately that influence FAQ there doesn't list what you get in each case.
  10. There is no violet? :D ...I'm not sure why I don't like purple. Memory association perhaps. I don't hate it, and it's ok for, say, clothing sometimes. But not as a saber, imo.
  11. Almost finished the Empire campaign in Caesar4, briefly tried their on-line score competition option, and like 99% of other folks, am ready to toss in the towel re: trying to get the editor to work well enough to make maps with. Thus, I'm about done with C4 as a major obsession, I think. After a break from gaming whereupon I shall spend a lot of spare time veging on DVD's of TV shows we bought recently, what shalll I play next? Hmm.... "
  12. Pop's opinion is the same as mine. I went so far as to create a very unsocial personality Sim to lessen that requirement but it was still way too much micro-management even for a sim game. I eventually began to just torture my Sims for fun, then stopped playing. If Sims2 is the same in that regard it'd irritate me sooner than later, now.
  13. That too. :D
  14. Is it? I liked the original Sims for a while - it was funny - but became bored fairly quickly.
  15. No worse than people who line up for a big store sale...but yes, I agree...that wouldn't be how I choose to waste my time. I'd rather...uh...post on forums. :D
  16. I think some people thought JadeEmpire was a little along those lines in terms of gameplay...but not environment. I really haven't seen many games that have Kotor's particular blend of rpg and action, tho. They're usually more along the lines of Diablo in simpler button-mashing action or BaldursGate/Might&Magic in stats/story complexity. If you liked the story/choices aspect of Kotor, you might want to just try picking up some of the more well-known older RPG's out there to see if they would also be something you'd like...although like mentioned, they're not going to be on xbox.
  17. Yeah, that did occur to me after I wrote that. Well, I've been using Zip forever; It's familiar and still common for the average user to have it on their system; I'll continue to use it until something forces me not to. :D
  18. Ah...I didn't read that thread entire...I tend to be an impatient internet reader. I like Milkman Dan's Ode to Angels. Pleasant composition. Edit: @ D_R - lol, that was what I first thought when I saw NOX in the song titles. :D
  19. I used WinRar to unzip it. Then out of curiosity I used WinZip to recompress the files. Ace's file = 49,277 WinZips file = 49,278 Seems pretty much the same to me... Anyway - what are those songs from, Jorian? Did you make them or are they parts of songs/music in your personal collection/from BG soundtrack etc? The instrumental ones are interesting, but the vocal ones are a bit too...well..disco or dance/techno or something for my concepts of a RPG environment. P.S. Oh and I also tend to think of a "sample" as being shortened clips from songs...these seem to be the whole song. No wonder the file is so big.
  20. It hasn't downloaded yet, so I don't know if it's a problem. Was just wondering what it was. I knew of rar and zip and a few others...ace is new to me.
  21. The songs are 48MB and the server's a bit slow...it also isn't labeled as a zip file - what is .ace?
  22. I've been googling The Fountain - on imdb people give it 7.5 stars...which is odd since far as I can tell, it's not on wide-release yet? Anyway, I might check it out. In other movie news - anyone else's local theaters all taken up with placeholder announcements for something called Horrorfest? (pic) I seem to recall seeing a video on YT about some event w/this title, but didn't realize it would be on this scale. Sadly, most of them seem to be horrible movies...
  23. Thanks D_N. There's nothing official, no, for either the pc or console. Although the hope always lives on...
  24. There are no "official" plans for a Kotor3 right now - it's all speculation, rumor, and hope. As Nightshade mentioned, we have an ongoing series of threads for discussion of this popular topic.
  25. I guess I've been watching more TV series than movies lately. Sci-Fi's been playing Threshold and since I never got around to watching it when it was 1st-run it's fun to see it now. Mostly for Brent Spiner and Peter Dinklage. They're both pretty amusing. The rest of the show is passable but rather mundane sci-fi.
