Something different & perhaps more interesting from my usual dance/random nonsense. I had this vid idea ages ago but the biggest hassle was the initial dialogue searching/editing which I didn't feel like dealing with until recently. I use mods and dialogue files to create "interaction" between the companions. I guess it's like a very, very abbreviated let's play that would only make sense to ppl who have already played the game. First two are mostly about gathering the companions all together. Finding a balance between quest, the dialogue bits, action bits, & humor/story/quiet moments has been difficult, heh. Arcade, Boone, Veronica, Primm, & Raul (little too much set-up but gets going once I grab Arcade) Cass, Nipton/Booted, getting Rex. Not getting Lily, I don't like Lily. Don't know where I'm going with it all/how many there will be (one could go on a long time if one wanted...) but it's been silly fun making them.

Well I dunno if someone posted this already but I found this somewhat funny. Ultimate "NOOOOOOOOO" Compilation

I am a sucker for like noble tragedy/moral wronged in fiction tho...like Braveheart or Rob Roy, which is why I'm surprised. I mean, Lord Stark having a mercy & moral ethic that gets him in trouble shouldn't feel quite so idiotic, yet it does. I still think it's lack of screentime/chr. development on-screen. And maybe Sean Bean kinda phoning in his performance. And the Snow-Stark actor playing it as kind of a whine-bag. *pickpickpick*

... that was my exact 1st thought. And yeah, I seem to recall it depending on incarnation. There were some GL's that seemed, at least insofar as when I was reading them, to never produce complex thingies using the ring. Unless you count forcefields as complex. I always wanted that ring. *comes back from wiki reading* Wait, they got rid of the yellow weakness? That's kind of lame, even w/the retro-explanation of why it doesn't always work for some. So the only weakness now is that it runs out of energy/has to be recharged & you can't be a mental weenie (for the yellow)? Or what?

Pretty much. I just don't know the console command or cell info for that, while tgm is easy to remember.

The sword-learning daughter - I like her. I don't remember the Starks coming off as quite such idiots in the book, but it was a long time ago. The book made me almost cry re:them - so far the show makes me impatient at their seeming stupidity. Maybe it just comes off that way on-screen vs. the page because of the brevity of the screentime. Sigh, I'm so picky. lol

Probably too late now, but if you don't mind using the console, plain old "god mode" (tgm) means you can still run while encumbered - it ignores encumbrance as well as all kinds of other things (like bullet usage, heh). I'm not sure about FT...I'd think it'd work tho.

There's a key you have to press to make the graphics in DK go from this low rez, pixel city crud to something better, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. I had the same issue even back when it was released. It still looks fine on my 23" monitor today. imo. Altho I always played zoomed out all the way, never all in close, and if you were using DosBox or something, I can't speak to how it works using that.

Same here, but mine won't work on Win7. So it'll be nice to have a copy that (supposedly) will, w/out having to fool with DoxBox or whatever. I'm weird like that. Also, I probably won't keep/have an XP computer forever. For quite a while still yet, yes...but not forever. I hope they'll put out Deeper Dungeons later, too. Those are the better maps, imo (tho no "story").

Hm. Interesting video. Love the toaster.

I'm happy today. Woke up that way. It's always nice. That is all.

I'll have to give the Ultima a try. Never tried any of them ... well, except for the terrible #9... Their site is lagging/slower than a snail in glue right now tho, so I'll get 'em later. Fun stuff.

I'm in love with Trevor & his sunglasses/hat. Just sayin'.

Gog page seems up again...it's not a blank white page anyway. Wonder who the publisher will be.

So pardon my ignorance, but who are these nerds professional young men talking on my screen, anyway?

I'm getting a lot of skipping too. I was, until I blocked the social chat thingie window

I think I shall start wearing thigh-high, thick leather boots whenever I go hiking anywhere that might possibly have snakes. Tired of cloudy skies. Go away. Power company finally came and chopped away the limbs of the tall tree that were starting to seriously hang over the power lines. A small limb must have pressed into/grown into one of the cables/wires or something, because there's now a large chunk of wood just "floating" 40ft in the air. They left it on the wire rather than try to pull it off I guess. It's kind of odd. Hubs rolled his eyes and said "they're the tree people. Now they'll send the wire people to deal with that, I bet." I hope so, because I picture the chunk falling during a windstorm, crashing through a window and killing someone. Hopefully not me. Ok, it's not likely at all, but still...it's disconcerting to look out kitchen window every day and see it.

If you've played with your .ini files for performance reasons, and you're having crashes since the patch/HH, you might want to try changing them back to default. I had altered the Havok thread settings not too long ago to see what they did, if anything...curiosity more than necessity. Didn't notice too much, forgot about it. When I changed it back to default...well, I haven't had a single crash since. Make of that what you will.

It's HBO. They can show sex (unlike "the networks") and therefore they MUST..."see what we can do that they can't." I myself don't give a bullhorn @ T&A in a show, male or female, but if they're going to have it, it would be nice if it seemed more natural. I suppose you can say we had to know Littlefinger's chr more but...eh, it was too long and too silly. I liked, mostly, the way they did nudity/sex in Rome. It felt more like a natural extension of the culture, rather than gratuitous nekkid for sake of "because we can."

I keep wanting a new game, but nothing ever appeals. I've reached a point where sequels/prequels to fave games don't work for me, and I don't like all the CoD/action type stuff that's the rage now. Most of the time if I buy a game it sits uninstalled or I never even come close to finishing it so I stopped buying. I bought FNV on a lark because it's Obsidian & because you all were talking about it - got lucky that I actually liked it so much. So now I just...play the few I do like. And as much as I've been waiting for it, it oesn't bode well for Diablo3, for me, frankly.
-
Yes. I played (some of, haven't finished) Amensia and of course old fave games, some of which I bought on GoG so I could play them on Win7. But no "new" games, if that's what you're asking. The past 3 years I haven't bought many "new" games at all. I can list all the ones I've bought on one hand.

I guess going in at lvl4-8 makes a big difference in enemies too. I didn't see a single cazador. Everyone keeps talking about them but I didn't encounter even one. lol The Burial Mound was empty for me, except during the last quest when it had White Legs or something.

Insurance companies and computer errors suck. I wasted a whole bloody afternoon watching idiots try to figure out how to fix it and I'm still not confident that next year it's not going to just repeat itself. I'm still fuming, need to calm down. At least my baseball team is doing so much better. And I have pizza.
