  1. By culture, language, features and history yeah sure. But a lot of the inhabitants see themselvs as vastly different, I must admit I too can see some cultural and not to mention political differencies, but a lot of the remaining hype is just silly really. :D
  2. They tried to make a Scandinavian union once, a long time ago, they couldn't agree. Guess all three nations are just too damn nationalistic when it comes to stuff like this. :D The last time Denmark, Norway and Sweden was united was during the Kalmar Union which was formed around 1400 by the Danish Queen Magaret I, and was dominated mostly by Denmark, which eventually pissed the Swedes off, causing them to make rebellions. They eventually succeded in breaking free around 1520, bastards. We did keep Norway another 300 years though. ^_^ As for the marriage thing, no, it would never happen.
  3. Madeleine is a Princess, the third in the line to the Swedish Throne, the first born is Crown Princess Victoria. (See below) And the one below is Crown Prince Frederik, heir to the Danish Throne. To answer your question, no, in this day and age we could not unite Scandinavia by royal marriage.
  4. I'm afraid it's not that easy, she would just move to Denmark and become part of our monarchy instead. But meh, the two of them are probably related somehow, it was just a thought anyhow. :D
  5. Mmmm, pity our Crownprince didn't take her, she would have been most welcome here in Denmark.
  6. LOL I really liked this one, having been brought up in a navy officers family, ph34r the Danish navy... or the one we had 350 years ago that is. Also Baley and others, ph34r your soon to be conquerer, our evil and dominating queen will roole yooo!
  7. Are you trying to appease me? I'm from Northern Zealand, just 30km from Copenhagen, screw
  8. He has made a lot of good movies since Black Rain (which I actually liked). ^_^
  9. Scandinavian brothers unite, kill the infidel!
  10. Mmm, Angelina. I liked her in Alexander, she has some sort of aristocratic glow about her that I like.
  11. Ahhh, and I thought my chance of elevation to Sainthood had long passed me by.
  12. I want my very own private Popie...
  13. Mockery: Why is the silly Swede still here?
  14. Yes indeed, I don't think we'll see Richard in this film, but what the heck I guess I'll manage. ^_^ As for GI Jane, not very impressed there, but I did like Gladiator a LOT, especially Reed who drank himself to death in a bar during shooting, not the worst way to check out but still, he was a good actor. Oh and I'm not much of an Olie fan myself, I was pleased with his whimpering character in Troy though (however inaccurate the film was), I think it sorta suited him.
  15. Just a minor correction Meta, the film is about the fall of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, a Crusader state from the first Crusade, to Saladin and his muslim armies in 1187, an incident which sparked the Third Crusade a few years later to reclaim the lost land, lead by Richard the Lionheart himself. (however, I doubt we'll see him in this movie) I'm going to see it May 5, looking forward to as Ridley Scott is one of my favorite directors. (Gladiator, Alien, 1492: Conquest of Paradise, Black Hawk Down) ^_^
  16. Will Ferrel's take on him is bloody hilarious.
  17. Pretty much, you sick swede, although he doesn't return home in sadness; "syg i sinde" is "sick in the mind", so basically, when you're done fighting, you get somewhat disturbed. (that's what I make of it, anyhow) I guess the telling is quite new, or did they know about post traumatic stress disorder back then? ^_^
  18. I didn't want to claim that it was, and face the shame had it been Norwegian in an old form or something.
  19. I'm pretty sure that's Danish, by the way, being one myself. Although Norwegian can be dangerously close to Danish at times, I could be wrong.
  20. First one rocked, the ones that followed, sucked.
  21. Not in Sweden, whom I was referring to in the previous post, they have almost no debate with them, at all. I understand why the people being ignored gets pissed off, this is not the right way to do it, in my opinion it only pushes people into more extreme groups.
  22. Indeed, this is by no means unique to Germany and should not be used as an argument directed against them alone, I believe it's worst in Sweden actually, partly due to lack of debate with right wingers, as there is an aura of political corretness in Swedish politics.
  23. Well at least push France or England (there's hardly anything to call "united" anymore now is there? ), but don't pust too hard tho, we don't wanna make anyone cry. ^_^
