Misty Eyed Movie Moments
The ending of Schindlers list, it's just too powerful for me to handle I guess. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand when Maximus died in Gladiator, I thought it was beautifully made.

Kingdom of Heaven
It doesn't change the fact that Troy and King Arthur are grossly inaccurate, even for a myth. But don't change the subject please, this is not what my thread was about.

Kingdom of Heaven
I thought it was brilliant, beautifully made, impressive sets (they actually made a copy of Jerusalem in the deserts of Morocco) typical Ridley Scott with his great visuals. The cast also has some good characters, Jeremy Irons and Liam Neeson are the best IMO, but even Bloom seems to have become more mature, he even looks a bit like, you know, a man now. The film is fairly accurate to what actually took place, the main character of Balian (Bloom) and his life before the events in Outremer is heavily altered though, but nowhere near the extremes of what could be seen in films like Troy or King Arthur. -Minor spoiler, sorta- Also, as a funny fact to what's been the topic of discussion on this forum of late, the film is fairly anti-religious, and anti-war. It promotes an idea of a Kingdom that could have both jews, muslims and christians coexisting (The Kingdom of Jerusalem), and how blinded those who fanatically worship a deity really are. In short, I'd say this movie is made to promote tolerance. Highly recommended. ^_^ PS. There's two Danes in this movie, one of them is a fanatical Templar Master whose standard line throughout the movie is "GOD WILLS IT!" :D

At least Valhalla should be a place of eternal party and immortals fighting it out, sounds a hell of a lot more fun than heaven to me. :D I don't support a ban either, but I would the very moment the Church (or Islam?) tries to forcefully make others believe, they can gather and pray all the want for all I care, they just freaking gotta make sure I or the rest of us nonbelievers don't get bothered because of it. But as for me, I don't believe in any religion and I'm fortunate that the majority of my countrymen doesn't really either. I just read in the paper today that the total number of members of the Lutheran Church here has been decreasing around 1% each year since sometime in the 80'ies, which is progress imho. I do believe in some sort of after life, though, a place where the soul travels upon death. I certainly don't believe in reincarnation, one life on this earth is enough for me.

Right right, I got them mixed up, well at least I remembered some of it...

Transformers Rule
I always liked his voice , think it sounds freaking awesome, but yeah transforming into a ghettoblaster/portable stereo was a little silly... But didn't he also transform into a gun for Megatron some times? I seem to remember him doing so. Could be mistaken though.

gay Star Wars?
Well, you gotta admit, it's probably a good way of discovering whether you like it or not. Also, I'd say he's more secure when he has the balls to actually try it, than most others here. Myself included.

gay Star Wars?
Also Ros, did you try your own advice? I must admit, I've never thought of it like that before. :D

gay Star Wars?
I'm sure they wouldn't feel threatened at all if it was a little bit of girl-on-girl SW action, in fact I think they would openly accept it, but then again, tthat's not really homosexuality now is it? :D Also Lowiej, very good and informative post, some people on here could learn a thing or two from that.

Jag isn't that Star Wars Kid? Or is it just a lookalike? I've seen this clip before though, lol, this is pure gold. :D

Well I'd say it certainly takes more of a man to drink vodka, whiskey (in its pure form) etc. than just a beer.

By culture, language, features and history yeah sure. But a lot of the inhabitants see themselvs as vastly different, I must admit I too can see some cultural and not to mention political differencies, but a lot of the remaining hype is just silly really. :D

They tried to make a Scandinavian union once, a long time ago, they couldn't agree. Guess all three nations are just too damn nationalistic when it comes to stuff like this. :D The last time Denmark, Norway and Sweden was united was during the Kalmar Union which was formed around 1400 by the Danish Queen Magaret I, and was dominated mostly by Denmark, which eventually pissed the Swedes off, causing them to make rebellions. They eventually succeded in breaking free around 1520, bastards. We did keep Norway another 300 years though. ^_^ As for the marriage thing, no, it would never happen.

Madeleine is a Princess, the third in the line to the Swedish Throne, the first born is Crown Princess Victoria. (See below) And the one below is Crown Prince Frederik, heir to the Danish Throne. To answer your question, no, in this day and age we could not unite Scandinavia by royal marriage.

I'm afraid it's not that easy, she would just move to Denmark and become part of our monarchy instead. But meh, the two of them are probably related somehow, it was just a thought anyhow. :D
