  1. Well it all depends on the individual situation I guess, family influence, the surroundings and the situations of the place you live and grow up. If you'd been experienced the things I have, and vice versa, we might look at things completely different. I'd seen enough to know there was a problem that needed fixing ASAP, and to that extent I think the damage is now under control, hence I could now cast my vote on a less 'extreme' political party. (voted Venstre this time around, come to think of it, I only know 3-4 people who voted left of the center, family included) Also, I went to high school in Northern Zealands most 'Borgerlige' private high school along with the Prime Ministers daughter, so it might have influenced me a bit as well. To be fair though, I could easily see myself vote on a leftish party in the future, provided that pissants like the Radicals don't get to have any say, imho they would ruin this country, but I have no problem with the SF or the Social Democrats.
  2. Well here (Northern Zealand) the concentration is pretty heavy, to say the least. I can only speak for myself, of course, but up here it doesn't seem very P.C at all. But you're probably also right in the regards that we connect more easy with likeminded folks, but the trend here is obvious to me. Jeg stemte p
  3. I can't relate at all to what you're describing mate, I've never felt this kind of political correctness where I grew up (Niv
  4. Screw the planet too right Taks? I mean, you'll be dead before you see the effects anyway, so how is it your concern?
  5. I think that was more common courtesy than being political correct, it's not like we would just laugh it up in their faces here because we're not P.C, Danes aren't that cruel. As for your ex... I wouldn't have been able to cope, of that I'm sure.
  6. Political correctness is the devil, in my opinion. I'm glad it's very limited here.
  7. People from Uppsala are strange.
  8. Our numerical system is beyond me, I have absolutely no idea where it originates from. Probably some old trade system since DK was pretty big on trade back in the day. Tyve (20) Tredive (30) Fyrre (40) Halvtreds (50) Tres (60) Halvfjerds (70) Firs (80) Halvfems (90) Hundrede (100)
  9. I realised that. But the way you from numbers is different from Swedish and English. You dont say "forty-five", you say "five and forty" correct? But what is the correct pronounciation of 50 000 ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is correct, 53 would be "tre og halvtreds" - The Germans do it the same way, 32 being "zwei und dreisig" The pronounciation would be "halvtreds tusinde" (not 100%, I've actually never had to spell it out before...)

  11. Because we only have 10 actors, but I must admit, the only Swedish actor I know of is Stellan AKA "Swede in American movies" As for the accents, I meant those who don't bother switching from their native accents when speaking English of course, like my father. Sounds.... terrible!
  12. English is also mandatory in Denmark, and we get exposed to English/American TV from an early age without dubbing, yet our accents, like the accents of every other Scandinavian, are horrible! <_<
  13. I do love it when they say my proximity makes their hair curl, in that angry PO'ed language of theirs, makes me laugh. :D
  14. Are they called Nikto? Or were you just saying bad things about my mother?
  15. "comradeship" We're not communists here, you know.
  16. If what you say is true, this certainly doesn't bode well for future responses!
  17. This is called a good democrat. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't think I have anything against Germans or something, I'm very interested in German history (WW2 aside, I'm tired of reading about it) and language, if only I could speak it, I was too lazy back school I guess.
  18. You know that is really a lie. There is no such thing as free health care and free education. Since your paying taxes to pay for your heath care and education. Social Democratic goverments are forceing people to pay for someone else health care. Im a Republican and I believe that I should not be forced to pay for someone else's healthcare and for schooling. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He did explain why it was free, and you can tell people enjoy this kind of system, our people are ranked among top positions of the worlds most happy people. I hardly think they would be if we had your 'every man for himself' government installed.
  19. (w00t) No that would not do! Nonononononono ::goes into denial ramblings:: Seriously though, I wouldn't want that for the world, I'm very fond of the monarchy and truely believe in the whole 'they're born better than me' thing, and I'm fine with that. Our royals are well liked and they behave good, there's no arrogance at all here. Our Crownprince is really down to earth, I'm looking forward to seeing him crowned King.
  20. I know this will sound unfair to you, but I want my country to have just as much a say as any other nation, regardless of their size, and if I can't have it I'd rather not be part of it.
  21. problem is .. you need to take the money from something else! and now they are taking it from education! is that better than paying 2 procent more in taxes? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd much rather they take it from something else than education, no doubt about it. It's just I find 60% to be too much. The problem is, I have no idea where they should find the cash.
  22. I think I wanna move to Denmark <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds good to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You wanna move as well? Remember the language is tricky.
  23. I think you forgot a language, yet I can't remember the name of the race. It's those guys whose captain you return on Nar Shaddar, furry faces in space suits, very angry like language. I love it, they seem eternally PO'ed
  24. I wouldn't want to quit NATO either, only if a better solution was to present itself. As for the EU, well I feel that like the currency (if we were to adopt it), we would drown in the masses of the central powers. (140 million people in France and Germany alone) It's hard for me to believe they don't want more of a say in matters than us. Edit: Dark Something, yes it's a dream to me as well, though it will most likely also remain as such. But dreams ARE nice!
  25. What Rosbjerg said, although I'm more of a Liberal than a Social Democrat, but I still wouldn't want the welfare state to go away, just lower the taxes a tiny winy bit, pretty please? Right, and a devout Royalist, I think the monarchy is part of the very essence of the nation and an embodiment of our history, I wouldn't trade it for a republic on my life.
