I wouldn't want to quit NATO either, only if a better solution was to present itself. As for the EU, well I feel that like the currency (if we were to adopt it), we would drown in the masses of the central powers. (140 million people in France and Germany alone) It's hard for me to believe they don't want more of a say in matters than us. Edit: Dark Something, yes it's a dream to me as well, though it will most likely also remain as such. But dreams ARE nice!

As for the Alliance, I wouldn't mind leaving NATO for a Scandinavian Alliance, NATO members seems to only function as US attack dogs lately, I'm not very please with this development. What causes me great displeasure is the fact that Swedes seems to have become obsessed with the EU! 70% of the times I see a Swedish car it's equipped with Euro plates, I've never even SEEN a Danish euro plate, and we've been in the Union far longer.

I'm not sure what you mean in question 1, as for 2 well in Denmark (and I assume the other Scandinavian nations and a lot of European nations) school, high school and college (which I just called university here) is free. As a bonus for studying, you can apply for something called SU (a finincial aid from the state to those who study, and I'm only talking about Denmark here) when you turn 18, and the amount differs from person to person. (living at home or not, being far away from school etc.) I believe you're entitled to 6-9 years of this. The normal fee would be around 400$ a month for a standard 18 year old high school student, that's what most of us got anyway.

Trust me taks, we're doing just fine, and have been for the past 60 years. Yours is by far not a desirable society seen from our POV by so many accounts it's difficult to name them all.. I think I'll stick with a welfare state and pay a little (ok quite a bit) more in taxes.

This post is mostly directed at those who spoke about Scandinavia or have interest therein. Denmark is turning to the right of the political center these years, and for the better, I think. But in no way does pursuing liberal right wing politics make us forget the good and solid Social Democractic foundation upon which our good welfare state was created, it just means that the Social Democracts in the country aren't doing their job very well, so we turn to the right wingers to do what needs to be done, the Prime Minister himself said during the election that he appriciates what Social democracy have done for the country, but that he feels they're stuck in the past. I agree. As for all the red flag weavering, I'm pretty sick of it, I prefer the flag of the nation and not some blood red political banner.

As a Lutheran who haven't been to church the last seven years except for what is required (burials, marriages etc.) I can honestly say I don't care one bit. Yeah, kinda sucks to find stuff on Malachor, when you have already been robbed of your precious Sith/Jedi companions for some silly reason, and you can't get access to a workshop... Not even our all time favorite wheely workshop.
