Now it's time for the party:
-
I thought it was a bug. I tried to do it a second time, but it didn’t work. Anyway, after saving the grove, it was time for the party and only half of the companions wanted to sleep with me. Not sure what you guys are doing to have all of them interested. That said, the game really tried to get me to seduce the other half, considering the dialogue options. I was surprised the Tieflings were behaving and the hireling didn’t say that “this vessel is at your disposal”. Considering that it's a puppet, who knows what Withers is into. As for actually doing it, I'll wait for Karlach. She did explicitly say it would be ok for me to have relations with someone else (or more than one for that matter), but I decided not to. Even so, Astarion rejected and despised me, not that I hinted at anything. Shadowheart and Gale were subtle, so I pretended I didn’t know what they were talking about. Wyll was feeling depressed, and I just left him alone. As for Lae’zel, she went full horny (and pissed off) out of nowhere, but also assumed I was not interested, implying she would do something by herself. Perhaps I should have brought the Loviatar guy to make her company, instead of killing him. That is actually really nice. For me, she went from "We need to find the Githyanki kindergarten" to "You are a trophy that makes me crazy, but since you don't let me join the party, you won't feel my fingers." Edit: Astarion doesn't find me attractive: Drunk Shadowheart:

Strange, none of the companions warmed up to me that fast. But now I told Karlach I wanted to find a way to cool her off and now she won't rejoin the party. She just says "I'm waiting" and there is no more dialogue or the option to rejoin. I guess I shouldn't have picked the more daring romance options just before that. She literally can't think about anything else now. And to think Lae'zel started the day saying: "Abomination, this is your end."

RIP Minthara. You looked like a very interesting npc. For the few minutes you were in the game. Moonbeam did wonders as usual. I’m cleaning the goblin camp and had some funny interactions with the BDSM guy. Since Karlach had expressed some interested in his “penance”, I let her have it. There was some exclusive dialogue for Barbarians. The battles were some of the best so far. Plenty of exploding barrels, enemies moving into a combination of grease/web/cloak of daggers/moonbeam (or Call Lightning) and my first fireball killed five guys (who were enwebbed) at the same time. That is how it should be.

Cinema and Movie Thread: flickering images

That is why I talked about showrunners. It seems there isn't much the producers can do in cases like these. -

Who is the showrunner? If it's the same as WoT or RoP, I have bad news for you. -

It's romance time: Nice try, Shadowheart, but Karlach moved faster:
-
I'm still having continuity errors. Several. Or I could just pretend the game lets me lie to Shadowheart about stealing the artifact. I also talked with people about the Absolute and saw a cutscene, so things are finally starting to make sense. Goblin camp: Nice how each npc has a unique and funny line. Let's see how tough they are when I start the massacre. They are all aracnophobes and can't handle Gale's familiar, imagine when I turn into a giant one. I also met a BDSM guy, a pity Lae'zel wasn’t there. She might have accepted his offer, unlike my character. This makes me regret every screenshot during cutscenes. It's almost as if the pc is a self aware AI and is reacting to the expressions she makes in disgust and shame.

“…and then you don’t have to play through hours and hours of an RPG selecting the right dialogue options to see it.” Tell that to the “Lae’zel sex speedrun” in eight three minutes.
-
It happened again yesterday. I was asked to rescue someone in the west and one of the dialogue options was a specific description of the location, that I never heard about. I wonder if the fixes will still allow me to learn about these things naturally.
-
I must have made the wrong choices in dialogue and exploration because the game just gave me two spoilers in a Gale cutscene. It was as if I knew about the artifact and the Absolute: Maybe I'm actually a hireling and I don't know. The companions must be meeting and discussing these important matters while I sleep? Apparently, you can consume some of the drinks. But it doesn't say what the effect would be. I had missed the +2 Sleight of Hand/+2 Stealth ring and only found out about it when watching a youtube video about pickpocketing.
-
More Auntie Ethel: And once again, Karlach deals the finishing blow: This was not the first roll. Of course I rolled a 1 and a 3 first and had to use an inspiration to get the 20. I already have plenty, even without pickpocketing. I will do it for fun and roleplaying, since my character is kleptomaniac. Auntie Ethel found out quickly. I send all food to camp immediately. You can use what is in the traveler's chest when resting, it doesn't need to be in the inventory.
-
We are all amateurs. How to to pickpocket until you have infinite gold, without going to camp: I tested it and it's so effective that I felt too guilty to steal more than the dyes, which I wouldn't normally spend money on. For truly infinite gold, you'll need to long rest many times and that will affect your quests. The Dark Urge player that makes all others look like saints:
-
So much that I even find myself collecting all the junk I find as if it could all be used for crafting. But I supposed that is not the case this time and I should throw away empty bottles, rags and rotten eggs.
-
I had my third long rest and this time I caught Astarion before he could do his thing. I visited the tea house and, despite constantly disrespecting aunt Ethel, she only turned hostile when I tried to rob her. Later, after a difficult battle trying to knock some enemies unconscious instead of killing them, I discovered that they killed one of their own with poison. Now I'll have to reload. As for aunt Ethel, I was planning to romance Karlach, but there was an option that showed up in every Shadowheart dialogue and I got tired of ignoring it, so now it seems we are getting more intimate. I wonder if it will progress since I sent her artifact to camp and then put it in my pocket. That was quite a while ago and she hasn't noticed yet.
-
I didn't kill her in the first turn, but it wasn't that difficult since she stayed close to Karlach and died in the second turn. Btw, completely forgot about that Guardian. I think I have had two long rests so far. The first one had a cutscene of Astarion walking away and I don't wanna know what happened there. The second was about Wyll. @Bartimaeus will love it. Edit: Wyll's cutscene was tied to him meeting with Karlach while in my party and she being recruited. It might be different in other circumstances.

I found out there was another battle in that cave.

It's funny how the companions love to talk about personal and important matters with no regard to other characters right there, openly listening to everything:
-
Blighted Village was a little disappointing. I tried to fight some goblins and they surrender. Fine, I'll accept that. But then Karlach fails a check and kills their leader anyway. Ok, it's a battle again, right? Wrong, they just stand there and let me take their weapons and kill them. The ogres? I failed a stealth check and started a dialogue that ended up preventing a battle. I'd have reloaded, but it turns out there was a great benefit this time. The spiders? Didn't stand a chance against Moonbeam. As for the ettercap, it somehow hit an AC 20 Karlach, but was killed by Gale's raven familiar. RNGesus at his best. The only time a character was in danger was when I opened the barn and interrupted some people that got really angry about it. This was the one battle I wouldn't have minded avoiding. As Shadowheart put it: "Let's just put this behind us. Far behind us."
-
You should retrain Wyll into a Bard. It will be even more satisfying when you kill him. Don't be naughty. It's "built for function rather than fun".
