I forgot about that. It would have been more appropriate for a good character and more humiliating for them. Well, as you said, the game doesn't care so I'll just pretend I didn't slaughter their youth. It would have been another interesting battle, but unfortunately I just spent half an hour organizing my inventory, leveling up and dyeing, so I'm not gonna replay it.

So, the Githyanki younglings didn't leave. They were just there in the classroom, standing beside their arrogant teacher, so I had to fight them. It was a lesson to remember, like they will never have again. While that is literally true since they all died, it was a great lesson. I threw everything I could think about, except for exploding barrels. I started by casting Spiked Growth, Glyph of Warding (Fire, so they can pay for disrespecting Lathander's temple), Web, Grease and anything else that wouldn't trigger the battle. Then Gale cast Confusion, affecting four students and, before they knew what had hit them, Lae'zel knocked the instructor prone. The battle begun and I closed the door, letting them practice on their own until my turn came. The bad news was that it became so easy that there was no opportunity to cast Fireball. Well, you can't have everything, right? Best part? Lae'zel probably approved all of it, despite the game not showing it. And so did the instructor, with all that talk about eliminating the weak.

When you bring an immature friend to visit your house:

I replayed the Crèche and, ironically, ended up with the same results. In part because I failed some tests, but also because I'm still cleaning the place and so far it's been very satisfactory, especially when I used Lathander's mace's sunbeam to fry the people who desecrated the place. Apparently they moved the young and children, so I can keep avoiding hurting the innocent. If you can call them that, since Githyanki kids look even worse than the Goblins. Btw, I confess I did another experiment with save scumming and managed to get a game over by challenging a certain queen about her godly status.

I was playing late at night and the Dream Guardian not only wouldn't shut up, but also started to freak out near the Githyanki Créche. I was tired and annoyed, so I saved the game and decided to make some stupid decisions just to see what would happen. I found out it is actually much harder to have a game over than what should be expected. Eventually I decided to just have a conversation to learn more about the story and guess what, now the Guardian didn't wanna talk. Edit: to be fair, I did learn some things, but the big questions were not answered.

It is. And it has many annoying features like lack of party formation, missing content if you don't long rest enough times, companions walking over traps and poison clouds, the main character stepping on lava instead of jumping over it, for example. A pretty good game, but not nearly as good as some people say, imo. @majestic said it perfectly:

I was not comparing the games, that would in fact make no sense. I was talking about people's reaction to the conditions involved in developing them. According to many devs, BG3 is an "anomaly", a game that is incredibly good because of how much money/people/time was available and we shouldn't expect the same result in other games. But now we have Starfield, developed by more people, for a longer time and with more money, and even so nobody is afraid of the expectations it creates. Clearly, it should have been much better at launch.

The Underdark:

I defeated the forge boss easily because he somehow stayed in the middle of the map. Then I wanted to change the forged items and I discovered I didn't save after the battle. I had to do the fight again and this time the boss was smarter, avoiding the center area. Hasted Karlach took care of it. Revisiting the Myconids, I discovered an area I hadn't visited yet and, I swear, it was another failed attempt to avoid a battle against some Kuo-Toas. Now it's time for the mountain pass. Edit: I almost attacked the Myconids when they started to dance. I thought they were turning hostile.

I'm definitely not paying full price. And with all this mess to fix, I'm not in a hurry to play. Where are all those people that claimed BG3 was the best game ever and we shouldn't expect other games to be the same? Why not criticize Bethesda for having more people/time/resources and delivering this? Now I understand why one of Starfield's devs was complaining about BG3...

Dyes are weird. The blue tones in my main character are "Ocean Green": Karlach's clothes didn't change much with dyes. The ones I tested only gave different tones of brown/gray. And I don't even remember which one I used for Shadowheart's gold striped armor. I tried repainting it but couldn't find the same dye again. Gale is barefoot because I gave his boots to an npc. I wanted to see if there was a reward and forgot he was using them.

The TV and Streaming Thread: US Writers/Actors Strike Edition
InsaneCommander replied to Raithe's topic in Way Off-Topic
I read the first two books. Each book in the trilogy is kind of a separate story, so I ended up not reading the third yet. I found it interesting because they are written by somebody from a different culture so it's quite different from most of the sci-fi I know. The second book was far more interesting to me and the idea in it, although older than the book, became popularized as "The Dark Forest", that is (minor spoilers for the plot): Personally I prefer the concept of the "park at night" since Project Rho summarized it perfectly: I heard they tried to extend the episodes as much as possible and some half an hour episodes could have been reduced to a few minutes without losing much. Do you agree with that? -
I've watched some people playing it and I can see the shallow aspects. But I still wanna play it. It's just a question of how long I'll wait/how much I'm willing to pay for it, since it's quite expensive.
-
They are bugged. Karlach won't show the top of her head and Shadowheart is too low and hiding in shadow. Not in the pictures above, but after leveling up my main character is also too low.

I drank a potion in the Underdark and it messed with the tadpole. No more avoiding it, I'm afraid. The dream guardian finally appeared and now won't shut up about using these powers. Don't trust this person. After many "failed" attempts at avoiding combat (I pass skill checks, but then ask about slavery or something else, starting a fight), Shadowheart asked me to stop with the violence, but then I met the first enemies that actually wouldn't let me pass. I refused to give them gold and another massacre begun.

I heard you need a few loading screens to go from one planet to another. And then you can only walk 300 m before needing to move with your spaceship to explore more of the same planet. Is it true? I wouldn't mind loading screens for entering/leaving the ship and landing/taking off, but I hope the planets are big enough. Which is worse, BG3 or Starfield? Post it in the Pictures thead or it didn't happen.

I refused it in the dialogue and that scene that happened later was about the tadpole, not romance. In Lae'zel's case it looks the same due to her apparent tastes. Well, she had already said something similar before, but this time she explained that she was wrong about me and I'm not that bad. It may have been a bug, since this first dialogue was a reaction to the goblin camp, while the second happened after I put her in the party and gained more approval in the Githyank meeting.
-
And I thought Lae'zel was horny before. I put her in the party to meet with her people and she went completely mad. I actually thought she would try to force herself on me.
-
No, Shadowheart doesn't simply want to get drunk. If you agree to meet with her later, Gale and Lae'zel will assume you will have sex with her. Not sure how they find out. Either Gale uses the telescope, Shadowheart braggs about it or one of the Tieflings likes to gossip. I was following this route, but then I decided to reload because I didn't want to cheat on Karlach, despite her consent to it. Interestingly, Lae'zel only said she would sleep with Astarion when she thought I would be with Shadowheart. As for Karlach, I used create water and now there is a permanent puddle in her part of the camp. There is. Play as a Druid and "romance" the Mindflayer while shapeshifted. I'll let you decide what would be more bizarre, the badger, the deep rothé or the spider.
