Does a clown pull a kid under a bed in that movie? If so I saw parts of it as a kid and it scared the hell out of me. -

Speaking of zombie games Telltale, of all devs, is developing a Walking Dead episodic game. I'm assuming like every game they do it will be an adventure series. -

If that's how you want to interpret the piece then fine, but having read a number of interviews with the director, writer and cast I certainly don't think that was their intention. I really think AngryKidJoe is right. Ridley may have intended it to be pure horror, but it is H.R. Giger's creature. Simply do a google image search for H.R. Giger and you will come up with images that are pretty much alien porno with strange tubed alien women getting penetrated by horrific creatures. That is subconciously what made the alien so terrifying. Besides what Orogun mentioned with the facehuggers the alien at one point corners Lambert (the other female character besides Ripley) and starts moving it's tail up between her legs before the scene, thankfully, changes. Not to mention the alien's phallic secondary set of jaws etc. etc. OK, this pretty much seals it. From Wikipedia: The script for the 1979 film Alien was initially drafted by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett. Dan O'Bannon drafted an opening in which the crew of a mining ship are sent to investigate a mysterious message on an alien planet. He eventually settled on the threat being an alien creature; however, he could not conceive of an interesting way for it to get onto the ship. Inspired after waking from a dream, Shusett said, "I have an idea: the monster screws one of them," planting its seed in his body, and then bursting out of his chest. Both realized the idea had never been done before, and it subsequently became the core of the film. "This is a movie about alien interspecies rape," O'Bannon said on the documentary Alien Evolution, "That's scary because it hits all of our buttons." O'Bannon felt that the symbolism of "homosexual oral rape" was an effective means of discomforting male viewers After O'Bannon handed him a copy of Giger's book Necronomicon, Scott immediately saw the potential for Giger's designs, and chose Necronom IV, a painting Giger completed in 1976, as the basis for the Alien's design, citing its beauty and strong sexual overtones. That the creature could just as easily have been male or female was also a strong factor in the decision to use it. "It could just as easily **** you before it killed you", said line producer Ivor Powell, "[which] made it all the more disconcerting." Fox was initially wary of allowing Giger onto the project, saying that his works would be too disturbing for audiences, but eventually relented. I'm actually surprised, as I thought the whole alien rape stuff was put in by Giger. Wikipedia Alien article. -

Dead Island trailer played the way it should have been played. I'm not sure about this game. Techland's previous games have been so-so. I'll wait for reviews on this one. -
I have a copy of Morrowind sitting around, but I never got very far. Looking at some of the pictures I'm considering finally giving it a real try. What mods did you use?

Yeah!1! Kill him, his cousin, his grandchildren and his cat! Maybe Mubarak isn't such a bad guy if you dislike him so much.

I'd say the first was. The second was debatable and the third was straight up comedy. -

How could they remake that? It was scary enough the first time with Shawn & Marlon Wayans. -

This. Saw it when I was just a little kid and some of those scenes stuck with me. Chest burster scene = Also, when I was young I saw a single scene from a movie and I don't know what the movie was. Poltergeist maybe? Anyway, there is a kid sleeping in his bed and he hears something. Looks under his bed and this creey *** clown drags him under the bed. I didn't see any further but I was worried for years about clowns hiding under my bed. -
Also more money to be made splitting the DLC up. You end up paying the same amount you paid for the full game in Fallout 3 if you pick up all the DLC. I honestly didn't mind though because most of it was great and it was spaced out enough.

Absolutely true and one of the major reasons Atari killed the premium module project by delaying NwN 2: Mysteries of Westgate for over a friggin' year after it was done to finish a new DRM system to test out. Notice that Mysteries was the one and only Premium Module? Yes it still bugs me. I think the release was spaced well for Fallout 3, a new DLC coming out once a month give or take a bit and it looks like New Vegas will also have it's DLC spaced reasonably. There is also an issue if it is released too early where it appears that it was finished along with the main game and they just held it back to nickle and dime the customer later. I was very slow to beat F:NV so the 3 months to Dead Space was fine with me. I've only beat the game once so far and I'll be eager to do it again.

What trouble did you get ? I never bothered with any of the DLC, although I guess I should as I think all the ones worth getting are out now (maybe next Steam sale ) Most preorder dlc you get a code card that you enter on the 360, enter the code and you are good to go. This one required you go to EA's website, sign into an old account and link the 360 to your computer. Things went wrong and access was prevented for me and hundreds of others. Someone eventually found a work-around but it was a huge pain and I felt like an idiot for preordering the game. I wanted to just sit down and play my game but the first 3-4 hours were spent trying to get the damn bonuses to work.

I found the combat enjoyable enough in the game that I didn't mind the (insanely) repetitive sections and I've beaten Halo 1 numerous times. I loved the ending of the game. I was not expecting it to be so emotional. Bungie has had trouble with level design forever. From Marathon to Oni and Halo their levels are often bare, but they usually manage to make the games fun enough that the sparse settings aren't that big of a deal. -

Can you blame them? Look at both the sales and the reviews for the recent Halo Reach & CoD Black Ops. Both series are as strong as ever. -
After the trouble I went through with the ME2 preorder bonus I'd almost be inclined to agree with you.

I like it myself. Think it gives the game a bit more longevity. You have something to look forward to in the future.

There have been stories of failed suicide attempts since after 9-11. This, along with the old 'terrorists bomb didn't go off after shouting Allah Akbar!, and terrorist was then beaten to death by his would-be victims' are common myths. I'm hoping the story is true this time.

No more video games then. You might be able to sneak a little hand held system in, but then you'd be hiding in the outhouse praying no one finds you. One day they would catch you and you would hide the game in horror, as if your parents had just walked in on you with a dirty mag and they would kick your tainted butt out. It just wouldn't work.

Dead Money was an awesome start and if these improve I'll be very happy. Beth's DLC for F3 was a constant climb up in quality until the 5th DLC, Mothership Zeta.

Very cool! Spent countless hours on Halo MP, even though it was insanely laggy on the PC port. -
If it hasn't been mentioned before, I think the preorder stuff enitices people who want the whole package, like me. I know it frustrates me when I learn there was equipment or a mini-mission I missed out on because I bought a certain version or something. Take Arkham Asylum for example. PS3 version has a bonus challenge mission where the Joker is controllable. If a person has both a PS3 & 360 they are probably going to lean towards the PS3 version if nothing else for that one extra bit of content. Edit: Enoch got it last page.

I haven't had trouble hunting or killing pests but I've had to put down a family pet. It was a small Budgie parakeet that was having horrible strokes that caused half of it's body no longer functioned. The poor thing didn't understand what was happening to it and would FREAK out. Vets were all closed and didn't sound optimistic even if I brought the little bird in the next day. So I smashed it's head with a brick to put it out of it's misery rather than let it go the whole night in that state. It was very hard to do and it choked me up. This was just a little bird that I wasn't even particularly fond of, but if it bothered me that much to put it down I can't imagine putting down a huge pack of affectionate huskies.

I stopped leveling up my party at lv 7 just to see how far I could take them, went all the way to the Underdark and beyond the first serious battle there (the group of adventurers or something that guard an exit). if you had trouble, I suspect it was because of you choosing weird classes or combinations of classes and to a lesser extent your decisions on every level up. This could have been it. I remember being overwhelmed with the party creation options and I wanted 'new' things that had never been in a IE game before. I also multiclassed some if not all of them. I can't remember the specifics as its been a few years. I'll have to do that ultimate IE playthrough some time again, but it requires a lot of time to get through them all. -

I found it the hardest as far as combat went. I remember having to play many of the battles over and over and some of the optional boss battles were impossible for me. It may have had to do with my party though. I remember using a drow, duerger and a dark gnome which all had level handicaps so I think I didn't create a very powerful party. I do agree that IWD 2 is the weakest of the Infinity Engine games, that said I loved them all in their own way and I greatly enjoyed my IWD 2 playthrough and I definitely had to use strategy in that game. I had an epic play through of all the Infinity Engine games, starting with the Icewind Dale series, then to Planescape and finishing with the BG series years ago and it was one of the most enjoyable times I've had with RPG games.
