I always found the concept of praying over sports to be odd. If both teams are praying who does God listen to? I actually I think God probably figures He's get bigger things to worry about than who wind the World Series.

Remember those "ghost hunters" I posted about. I saw it in the paper this morning. They got arrested for trespassing. According to the paper they were arrested cited and released. I don't know what the going rate for a trespassing fine is Shelby County is but it's probably not too expensive. The moral of the story is if you are going to sneak into a place you have no business (or permission) to be, be circumspect about it, There must of been 20 of them with cameras, floodlights, making all kinds of noise. The probably pissed off one of the people who lived near by.

So, was Murphy's error in the 8th the "Bill Buckner" moment of this series?

Game 4 starts in 3 hours. Excited anyone? Yeah, me neither. But I am interested though.

You haven't played Pillars? Stop wasting your time posting on boards are go play it! It's outstanding. After you're done with W3 that is. -
Every personal experience I just related is free. Even people in the direst of poverty can find joy when their child laughs. Or be truly grateful when they have a meal to share with family or a friend. The important thing in life is appreciating the little things is all I'm saying. Doing that will not solve a single problem anyone has but it can make them easier to deal with. That moment of happiness has value beyond measure even if it only lasts a moment. And the little things in life are really the big things. That's all I'm saying.

I've come to believe there is a purpose to life. But it is not something grand or even complex. If fact it is the simplest thing imaginable. We are here because we are here. That is it. There is nothing more to it. This very morning I got up at 6:30 and as I usually do I made a pot of coffee and sat on the east side of the porch to watch the sun rise. I try to watch the sun rise and set every day when I can. I get more peace from that than I can describe. Anyway it was cool and misting rain. There was a dense fog hanging over the river. Everything smells clean and new, you know how it does after a hard rain. My dog Sunny walks to the end of the porch sits on the top step, puts her nose up and just sniffs the air with a look of absolute contentment. I think that is why we are here. To just see what we see and appreciate it for what it is. A few months ago I walked down to a wide spot in the river to catch some catfish. The dogs went with me of course. Once they settled down they just sat on the riverbank next to me and watched the river roll by. When we were walking back it was well after dark. We have to cross a ravine with a creek in the bottom to get back to the house. When we got there the ravine was full of fireflies. Hundreds, maybe thousands of fireflies. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. If God put me on earth just to see that it was worth it. When Hurlshot was watching his kids play he probably thought it was a perfect moment. And it was. But the secret I think is that every moment is perfect in some way. No matter where in the world you are right now there is something remarkable to see near you right now if you just look around for it. Have you ever just lived in one moment? Concentrated only on how good the drink in your hand tastes? Have you ever noticed the little flower growing in a crack of a sidewalk, or really listened to that bird singing nearby, or the way your wife's eye crinkle when she laughs? Every moment is perfect. I think that is what life is all about. Nonek came real close to a good point. We are capable of creating good & beauty but the most important lesson is to appreciate it when you see it, and see it everywhere it exists. I better cut back on the drinks before I serve ya'll up another round of "bourbon philosophy"

I haven't attended church in many years and I don't account myself a member of any particular Christian denomination. IMO it's like ice cream. Different flavors but still ice cream. So I'm going to side step Namutree's question a little bit and answer it this way: Many years back I read a nice little novel called The Five People You Meet in Heaven. A repairman at an amusement park dies feeling that he has wasted his life. After he dies and arrives in heaven he meets five people who he interacted with in some way during his life. Those five people explain his entire life to him, why the things happened that did, why he ended up where he was, and he realizes his life wasn't wasted at all. He learns that he played a small part in a grand design and everything he did had meaning. I'd like something like that to be true. I'd like God to explain to me what this was all about. If I was put here for a purpose what was it? If there was a lesson to be learned, did I learn it? My father always believed there is a grand plan for everyone and everything. I've used to think creation is an immaculately engineered perpetual motion machine. God built the machine and set it into motion then stepped back to let it take what course it will. Now I don't think either is completely true. I have no doubt I will meet God someday. I'm 44 years old now. Still a lot of life to go but it's also probably true there are fewer days before me than behind me. I always wonder what I will ask God when I meet Him. Perhaps I should wonder what God will ask me. If He asks my what I did with the life He gave me, how will I answer? I've tried to be honest in all my dealings, but I know I haven't always been. I've tried to be courteous when I didn't have to be and generous when I couldn't afford to be. But I know I've come up short there at times. I believe God will judge us on our actions but I have often wondered if He will also judge me for the good I could have done and didn't. Or the evil things I could have stopped and ignored. Sorry, I guess I rambled on a little bit. It's funny we're discussing this now. It's something that has been on my mind lately.

Well, I can tell you one thing that is absolutely true about God. Whether you believe in Him or not at some point in your life, even if it is at the end of it, you will find out for certain.
 -
	A conspiracy? Of course!
 -
And as cool an foreboding as the smokestacks look all off by themselves in the woods, I'm quite certain "evidence" those kids find will be a product of their imagination.

Well, I think it is arrogant to assert anything is impossible without definitive proof. But the concept of ghosts is one I have a difficult time buying. I am a religious man in my own way and I absolutely believe there is a spiritual aspect to all life. a soul if you will. But the idea that soul remains earthbound or has anything to say to the living after death is one I just don't buy. Now as for bigfoot? If those critters were really walking around I'm 100% sure one would have been shot by hunters by now. That I do feel comfortable asserting completely bogus.

Well I've made my opinion of this train wreck of a game clear both here and on their board. These patches tell me either they know it's a dumpster fire and they are trying to fix it or the whole thing was rushed out the door and just done half assed. Either is possible. Based on the "professional" reviews and the users on steam (the folks who actually bought the game) this thing was a bomb. But I realize some folks like Keyrock like it and that's great. But the final product looks nothing like what they pitched back when it was first announced and looks exactly like what the folks on their boar begged them not to do. I posted this in March. Seven months before it came out. I was right.

At least the Boks are bringing home some hardware. Even if it is the consolation prize.

The Empire struck back tonight. Big win by the Mets who finally figured out what the bat was for.

On my way home tonight I saw a bunch of folks in vans at the smoke stacks. Near my house is the remains of the Chicksaw Ammunition factory that was shut down after WW2. You can see the old smokestacks for miles and there are a bunch of old buildings overrun by trees. So I stopped and asked what they were doing. It was ghost hunters doing a "paranormal investigation". When I mentioned I lived near there they were asking me questions about the history if the place and if there have been any deaths out there. I laughed and said most of the time abandoned buildings are just what they seem, abandoned. I also told him if there were any ghosts there my guess it would be of ghost hunters who broke their bloody necks walking around there in the dark! I wished them good luck all the same. I suspect the only thing they are going to see out there is mosquitos.

Yeah I think this is it. Bethesda is big enough to have full size teams doing multiple projects simultaneously. Fallout is their biggest property right now and I think it will be their main focus until they have wrung every drop out of Fallout 4. But I also think they have a team working on ES VI right now too but it's probably on the back burner. ES VI won't be announced until FO4 is totally done and losing steam because you can't have two products competing for the same dollars. -
You will be happy when your see your paycheck though.

Between cost of living and cost of tuition I don't know how you're doing it.

Yep I got a 55" Sony 4k. I just finished the wall mount when they were doing the National Anthem. And it was a heck of a way to break it in. I watched every inning. Oh and your uncle's bookie, that was none other than Pete Rose

Some titbits of news today before game 1. Torii Hunter is retiring after 19 years. Don Mattingly is going to be the next Manager of the Miami Marlins. Good f-----g luck with that. And here is something I didn't know, the World Series tonight will be the first one... ever... not have at least one of the original teams when the NL & AL first organized together in 1903. The Royals joined the AL in 1961, the Mets in 1967 (I think).

In case no one noticed Lincoln Chafee has dropped out. But then again no one really noticed he was running.

Australia vs New Zealand in the finals. Nothing like a rivalry match to settle the whole thing.
