If you look at all those posts about how boring everything in PoE1+2 is and how everything has to be bigger, enchanted, glowy and more exotic, I think they did a great job in ignoring those idiots. There are a few effects that tell you that there is something going on, but not nearly is much fireworks as in other temporary titles. I read complaints about: - Weapons being not big enough (seriously. That guy said, he could barely see them) - Weapons being too realistic (boring) - Armors being too realistic (boring) - Weapon glow effects being gone ("I want to see the enchantment on my weapon") - Ability animations being boring -> More glow and explosions (Which would mean more magical abilites) - Spells looking boring in Deadfire - Companions being not interesting enough (Solutions: Vithrack companion, undead companion, etc. As if that would make them automatically more interesting.) - Pets being not crazy enough (What's wrong with talking skulls and demons?) Complaining about jumping around a few meters is complaining on a high level. Just enjoy a game that succeeds in reducing that crap and be thankful that there is a company that at least tries. But what do I do here? I'm talking to a person that tried to use WoW as a good example.

Then why did you quote me? Why do you attack me, even after I said, I've enough of this discussion? That was no joke. First you complain about inaccurate statements, start a metadiscussion about rethorics, then you get an accurate one (because you insisted) and in response claim it was a joke and get personal. You either try to avoid real discussion, are attempting to get this discussion shut or you are the one, whom we should worry about.

This is getting absurd, if it wasn't from the beginning. If you excuse me: I'll save my effort and just lie down and die. As you can't stop the inevitable, be it the necessary balancing of the system on one side or the unavoidable complaint of the complainers on the other, I suggest that you all do the same.

Edit: Wrong game. I don't know. Haven't played it. Haven't played anything since BG. Selling numbers don't impress me. People are idiots, anyway. I want to play good games. If I wanted to have a power fantasy I would play WoW. so again my non-hyperbolic approach: Every person that expects from any game, be it a computer, board game or whatever to have a set of meaningful rules, wouldn't accept that in a modern game.
-
Firstly that was not my sentence. I just added my personal impression to the discussion. Now if you take that "any" very literary, it is indeed a hyperbolic statement. But this is a forum discussion, not a juristic text. People talk that way, you know. And dying three times on PotD is not really what I would call challenge. But as you insist, here is my non-hyperbolic attempt: In my experience as a self defined average player the game clearly failed to provide an appropriate challenge on the difficulty settings normal and above, apart from very few fights, given the assumption, that players an all difficulty levels but story mode are expected to fail from time to time. You can quote that, nitpicker.

I'm not a great player, I don't read all the numbers and sometimes play like an idiot (I like that thingy. It seems to fit that other thingy. Lets put it on.). I died countless times on PotD in PoE. In Deadfire I died in three fights (Splintered reef entrance, Nemnok, Ukaizo). For every of that three fights I needed 2-3 attempts to finally win. That is not the same as winning with autoattack but it is a measurable difference. P.S.: My wife just told me that so far she died only once on normal difficulty. She's just arrived at Ashen Maw and she's also definitely not a powergamer or Min/Maxer.

Josh Sawyer ignores this forum for a while now. Nobody here sees themselves as representing a majority. Most users here just see the reasoning behind those fixes. Please stop claiming things like "The majority thinks this or that", "People on this forum think this or that". You do exactly the thing you're complaining about.

Just stack and combine a few of these items and they will work. Before the last patch they worked too well. For a while, my Aloth was equipped with Whale of a wand, the wand from a certain temple (both enchanted to the max), the illusionist mask, Arkemyrs Book, a few minor items that helped him trigger the wands abilities and his intelligence and perception boosted as far as I could. What I ended up with was that Aloth confused, charmed, dazed and whatever absolutely everyone, no matter their will defenses. If you are in a boss fight and the big monsters side with you or just stumble around for the whole duration of the fight, the fun is gone. Those items needed to be tuned down.

Can minorities please stop claiming they where the majority? It is really annoying. I don't think people who want to have fun while playing PotD-difficulty are a minority. And people who don't want their character to be able to eliminate whole encounter groups with a single blow aren't either.

Ok, ok, let me try it. We have the Kingdom of ... let's say Azgaardia in the north and Uthgaardia in the south (Nobody will ever get that references, because I'm so clever). Azgaardia is inhabited by the Azians, a mighty elder race (Exports: Mead, Meadhorns, Freedom and Honor), while Uthgaardia is inhabited by giant fire demons called ... the Joth (Exports: Metalwork, Weapons, Beef Jerky). They have an infinite war going on that devestated their lands and will ultimately lead to the end of the multiverse. So. Worldbuilding done. How was I? I know. I backed it because of fun. I would never claim that it was the best example of worldbuilding there is. But it's frankensteined way more subtle than D&D. Where do you come from? I wanna live there.

Hamlet. Apart from some minor Deus ex machina thoughout the story most notably in the end Fortinbras arrives to take control over Denmark and prevent the land from falling into chaos. In As You Like It, Hymenaios comes to the mass wedding to sort out the problems of Rosalind's stay and disguise in the Forest of Arden. The lord of the flies ends with a ship appearing, just at the moment where the protagonist is to be killed. And you will shurely remember the eagles in LotR. I won't tell you the and of the dragonslayer, as it's a major spoiler.
