what does "darth" mean?
The Great Phantom replied to english123's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Rivan lived during the Golden Age, towards the middle, I believe. There is no proof that Revan coined the term. That was an assumption made by the uneducated on EU fans... I saw the idea created... -
does any one know about......
The Great Phantom replied to kastrenzo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
When (not if, they had better make it! <_< ) they make it, I hope they don't announce it until they're almost into the debugging stage, so as not to get a fan base that wants them to hurry up. -
Well, if he was already dead, then wouldn't the ship sorta take a while to decompose?

She said that he may have fallen on the outside, but that he retained his true personality deep inside. When the Jedi captured him, his true personality resurfaced for a short time. (If you're DS (Revan), then she says that he falls back, but if you're lightside (Revan) then she leaves it at that.) Just thought I'd point it out.

Mandalorian Wars were just a set up for the 'war to come'. And, if the only Star Wars material came from Lucas' mouth, then we wouldn't be here, would we? <_<

Thoughts after finishing
The Great Phantom replied to Euripides's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I personally think that KOTOR II is more of an 'individual expansion' to KOTOR I. However, that is just about as high as the praise gets, from me. Few games are ever even compared to KOTOR, with me. Decent job, Obsidian, but the extra month wait would have been worth it -
Who built the Trayus Academy?
The Great Phantom replied to General_Veers's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yep, they probably built it when the Empire was still strong. Then they 'died'. -
Before that, I mean. The Dark Lords of that time period usually took more than one apprentice at a time. Malak was the LAST SURVIVING apprentice, but that shows that there was more at one time. Perhaps he took more afterwards, assuming HE was DARK SIDE. Then he recovered his memories, and pulled an Alexander The Great, only he was still alive.

Did she yell at you about trusting Visas too much? If so, you're screwed. You have to balance them out, like do two of Handmaiden's sparring matches ( ), sparkled with a couple of influence gains w/ Visas. Just talk to them the same amount, and you'll be fine. It worked my first play through, LS, but on my second, I talked to Visas more at first to get her DS Mastery...

Who built the Trayus Academy?
The Great Phantom replied to General_Veers's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The Rakata... They were wiped dead before the Sith. Somewhere in the game I read that the Ancient Sith built it. I'll try to drag up a quote. My theory on the death of Rakata: They were wiped out in civil war, rebellion, and plague. The plague (as stated by the Rakatan Computer) could have been created by a Slave Race, and the Sith Species were masters of Alchemy (which the Dark Jedi took advantage of). Just pointing that out. -

His Ghost. That happens a lot in the comics... -
Something I heard
The Great Phantom replied to Darth Abomination's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
But I was going for that! See, I even got the smilies! Okay, back on topic. I know, they twist quite a lot. But, as long as it doesn't screw everything up, like the Yuuzhon Vong did , I'll refer to it as canon. -
I'm trying to keep this thread alive... I liked it, but I don't know if anybody else wants it alive... Bastila is more of a sidekick than a good leader. She makes a better servant, because of her Battle Meditation. I can see her as somebody on-call, waiting to go into 'duty'. Perhaps Revan took more than one apprentice, like the real Sith of the era?

Interesting Tidbits...

Thank you for putting the message screen data up! I keep referring to it, but nobody seems to listen... -
The Exile and Bastila
The Great Phantom replied to Taran'atar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You don't know Bastila personally, you know OF her, as far as I could see. Malak even refers to her as though she WANTED to join, but couldn't. It leaves it at that, if I remember right... -
If K2 had a simpler, straight forward plot
The Great Phantom replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The Story was great as it was, imho. I don't see what everybody's problem is. Obsidian was rushed, unfortunately, but they did a decent job. We just have to give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume that they did have a plan when they forgot to put in "To Be Continued..." -
The latter half if the game and then ending...

Darkside Playthrough
The Great Phantom replied to JamieKirby's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Okay, here's my go at being a manipulative Sith Lord: Feel you're anger. Kreia manipulating you. The Jedi Council feigning ignorance. They FEAR you. You showed them something that they were too hipocritical to see on their own. Give in to your hatred. That beggar would have sold you out if the chance came. Don't let them use you. Use them, instead. Twist them to your purposes. Show them what TRUE POWER is. And, if all else fails, remember that it's just a game! So, how'd I do? That's the key. Put yourself in your characters shoes. Picture the revenge. Associate it with something in real life if you need to. Drag up repressed memories of your evil family members, if need be. Should they use this for phsyciatry? -
Plus they were more form fitting! Okay, got that outta my system...

Just pointing something out here: Bastila: "No matter who wins, they will not be the one I wish to serve. I will serve only Revan. Only he can carve the Galaxy the way it is meant to be." Direct quote from the game, holocron on Korriban if Revan was DS, Male.

Dang... I go away for two seconds, and another post is here... Yes, that would make the series cool.. there should be some underlying theme, it is Star Wars, after all...
-
Well, I like where this is going. The Exile doesn't necessarily control the Force on his own, per se, but controls it through others... Kreia and the other Jedi agree on this. He did what nobody had done, and what few ever have... He Walked Away... now, what was Revan's big destiny thingy? He was the 'heart of the Force'... What else?
-
O.k. Found a couple of errors in a couple of posts... The Sith'ari is the Sith version of the Chosen One... that is general concencus. Therefore, Anakin destroys the Sith, making it stronger, and is the Sith'ari. just pointing that out. other than that, it sounds dandy. Ajunta Pall was NOT a True Sith. He was among the first Dark Jedi that fled, according to his tale. They discovered some 'Dark Power', which was assumed to be the Star Forge. However, Revan discovered that the Star Forge would only destroy them in the long run... hmmm... perhaps the Star Forge could have been the Power that destroyed the 'Dark Lords' in the beginning??? I'm going to replay Korriban in Kotor I and check on the plausibility...

what does "darth" mean?
The Great Phantom replied to english123's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Darth is the Sith version of Mandalore, to an extent. You're right that just about anybody could take the title, but if they're too weak to hold it, then they won't stay Darth for long. It's a title of respect, showing some form of leadership over the Sith, which is why Revan and Malak could have shared it. You don't necessarily have to be the Dark Lord, but it makes much more sense that way.
