Its just easier to damage now though. Like one handers actually hurt because of the new armor system. My example is the Paladin. You really do not have to alpha with big hitting range weapons now. Range weapon damage seems to be tuned down a bit more compared to melee. My sword and board Paladin crits really hard with his one hander and Flames of Devotion. In POE 1 unless you were Duel wielding, Firing of FoD with a one hander and shield was pointless for damage. Maybe to fire of a buff ability like healing for Wayfarers or Deflection for Shieldbearers but thats it. Normally youd want to get passed DR with high base damage. It seems you do not have to do that as much anymore. +pen on disengagement attacks isn't a DPS buff, it's dissuasion from breaking engagement. Now, if the AI is smart enough to recognize that is another story altogether, but it's an enhancement to the fighter's "stickiness" by making it more punishing to break engagement. Barbarian has the most "meh" subclasses to me right now - they don't substantially change how the class is played, and the cost of 2 of the 3 seem really steep for the limited benefits they get. Agreed on the stickyness. But for that reason tanks can work well. And its not that hard to do damage even if you are not speced for it. Unlike POE 1.

Scyorielaphas room pegs my GPU

bump, same here with a 1080 TI -
So I am hoping you guys can help a dummy out. I am trying to see if my card is in the right PCI slot. As I am looking at Washfire's solutions to help my micro stutter, GPU-Z is telling me: The Graphics Card Reports that it Supports: PCI-Express x16 v3.0 It is currently runing at: PCI-Express x16 1.1 I am assuming that is wrong. The Bus Field reads PCI-Express x16 3.0 @16x1.1 Update: The above result is when I am not running a game...When I run a game it changes to PCI-Express x16 3.0 @3.0 So I think my card is in the right slot.

I am in the same boat as you, and have your exact specs and get the same performance as you. I don't believe the micro stutter you experienced will ever get fixed totally. It happened in POE 1 in certain areas of the game such as Copper Lane in Defiance Bay (not half as bad as in POE 2 where you get it everywhere and in combat) but not in combat so it was not as bad. Every Unity engine game I play has micro stutter issues. BATTLETECH has the same problems and they have patched the game and fixed it SOME but it is still there (uses Unity). That being said maybe I am lucky but have had no save game state errors except Eder's and this one was fixed last patch (fingers crossed). Why I have not had the save game state errors and you have with the same specs? no idea. I was really hoping they would delay the release as I felt it came too fast but I know money is not infinite and they must release at some point . Overall I enjoy the game but the micro stutter drives me nuts sometimes.

This ability was awesome in POE 1 but this time around it is bad..you will be dead ASAP while it pulses because of the big raw damage. Unless you get its upgrade where you get revived after it knocks you out but..is some AOE fire damage worth the knock out? What do you guys think the devs were thinking when they made the ability damage the Paladin so much?

So in POE 1 this turned Paladins from a good support tank to face melters. I have not gotten that far what changed? It does x fire damages to enemies and approximately twice that amount to the paladin himself as raw damages, so you will kill yourself real quick when you use it. I think the radius is also smaller than it was in PoE 1 but i could be wrong about that. You know I read the ability and it seemed that way too me. My Paladin has a ton of HP because high CON (15 base) and tough but ya you can’t turn it off right? Seems like they need to turn the raw dmg down some.

Agree with you here. I’ve had success with the ranger but only as a Scout. I think a lot of the classes are good as single class but the ranger needs a bit of a nudge in that direction. Also since there is no more heath/endurance system the pet isn’t as attractive. That being said with a few invested points they are a good mini fighter and haven’t been that soft in my case. Combined with the ranger/rogue firepower I find it to be a good class.

Maybe I am just a crap player but I have had great success (Borat Voice) with Maia (however you spell her name) as a Scout gunner. Rifles, Blunderbusses and pistols. She hits hard and has very quick reload times. She is my only single target damage dealer but it works. That being said for once I am not playing PoTD it is on veteran and most things work on less than PoTD. I didnt play PoTD on this first run cause of Josh's comment on the balance. Can I be playing PoTD or is it that bad? I really want to lol but do not want a crap experience.

But enemies use those abilities too! Combat is trivial (mostly) for other reasons and OEI is already working on them. Some ya, but not stuff like a monk being invulnerable to melee, not that I have seen. High int monks are ridiculous at the moment and at times do not take any damage for extended periods of time in melee. This is my understanding of course of the mechanic I have not seen it yet, I will admit that.
