I got the helm, I've got the shield, where the hell did you find the sword? -
The new companions - locations?
RocketChaser replied to abaris's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Thanks. Any idea of what level you should be to manage the fights? (Hard difficulty.) Probably 8 - 10, depending how good you are. Getting to the shack is a peace of cake though. -

The new companions - locations?

Devil of Caroc is in the mad scientist hut in the north east corner of the Battery map. You can head straight there from Stalwart but expect a lot of fighting to get to her. -
So that was terrible...
RocketChaser replied to Katarack21's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Spent all evening last night playing the new content and don't see what the fuss is about. Eder is still an absolute boss man and it's still simple enough to keep mobs off your ranged dps and healers if you're not daft. Learn to use your environment, fight in choke points where you can, work your formations to protect your squishies. A game isn't broken if it stops holding your hand, it's broken if it does. -
Acessing White March
RocketChaser replied to Drewan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
You have to have secured Caed Nua and there may also be a level requirement. My level 8 party got the message immediately. Sorry to hijack your thread but I was going to start a new one and I'm not sure it's necessary, do we know whether White March 2 will be accessed the same way? I have to say, I've found it a little convoluted, having to activate an old save pre-solving Legacy to do White March as "side" content, instead of "after" content. I was expecting a Throne of Bhaal style following-on. Is WMPT2 going to follow the same model, so even when both expansions hit, curing the Legacy will always be the last thing you do? Seems a clumsy way of doing things. I'd feel inclined to complete the expansion content (I've started a new save to do it this time as I completed the core game in release week) and then just hold back the save for "later" if so. Bit odd. I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I've skimmed a few press releases and previews and not found clarity. -
Name calling? Lazy git? Cmon, don't be soft. I'm not against the feature at all if it's easy to implement and is completely optional. I just think the poster claiming that it was impossible to appreciate the game and Obs had ruined everything just because this feature is missing is being monumentally daft.

New playable race
RocketChaser replied to ChaosMaker90's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Races are so meh. Cultures are more interesting, I'd like to see them expanding on those and the politics, tensions, prejudices and so on between those in following games. Let's explore more of the world, have a game in Dreadfire or Old Vaillia or something. -
Why the hell would you get in a taxi in central London? Oyster, man, Oyster god dammit!

Get yourself in World's End for a few pre drinks, score a bit of coke off the dodgy geezers outside Electric Ballroom then hit up whatever's cracking off in Koko.

I'm a massive fan of RPGS, I owned all the Black Isle classics, loved IWD and BG titles, backed Pillars and can't wait for it. But I'll still probably buy DAI once it drops a bit on Steam, presuming it isn't utterly panned by critics before then (I didn't bother with DA2 because it was described as a hugely linear flop compared to the first, which I enjoyed.) I don't get the obsession with comparing and competing everything, I don't get the game snobbery and I don't get the mud slinging. They're two very different titles and I'd argue they're - in gameplay terms - completely different genres. You may as well compare Call of Duty to Age of Empires because they're both about war. I appreciate this is an internet forum largely populated by roleplay sorts, so it's compulsory to argue about everything (seriously - the romance thread is an embarrassment to us collectively as a community) but come on, a hardcore RPG fan should be ashamed of owning a major release because, why, it's a bit TOO mainstream? Be less hipster.
