  1. The original Jedi Knight (I'm not sure if it has the same effect in JO and JA), there was "Force Throw" where you target it on a person, and any loose debris (remember it's old, so it's "map planted" old debris) flies towards the target. So maybe keeping it small scale would keep it realistic to do.
  2. I've played KotOR II before on my laptop which has a 32mb GeForce4 440 Go, but I've recently bought a desktop which has a better processor, more RAM and a faster HD, but I didn't have enough money for a graphics card (FYI, my ultimate goal is an X850XT, nothing inbetween). Has anyone played on the Intel GMA900 (on 915G chipsets) integrated graphics card? Can it run, how well, and any obvious technical problems? (I know it's not officially supported but lots of games don't support laptop cards either). Thanks!
  3. Just play the game through again...and this time exploit everything out more. Doesn't matter if you go different alignment or whatever cos most of your stuff is covered regardless.
  4. There are heaps of posts on the ending. The two searches you do (display results as threads in advanced search rather than as millions of posts), would be on key terms like "cut content", "cut ending". Even with the cut content there though it's pretty crptic.
  5. I made this after reading the thread about Class Structures of having a Padawan, Knight, then Master type thingies. How do you think the training Jedi thingy should work for K3? Here's a brief extension on the poll options: K1 Style: No Training, pickups only Pretty obvious - you meet Jedi and they join your party for some reason the writers make up K2 Style: Conversations then *POW*, a Jedi. The same Insta-Jedi formula they used in K2. Padawan style: Take on one (or maybe two), and conversations like Obi Wan to Luke. A bit open here, but one example is that find a guy who displays Jedi-like reflexes and you take him onboard. You slowly train him up maybe with conversations like "teach him Lightsasber skills" or "Using the force for protection", which unlocks the 3 or 4 related powers for level up. Padawan style 2: Start as a Jedi with a Padawan Very similar to the above options except you are a Knight/Master and the story starts with your learner already. I guess gameplay wise, it's very similar to just starting with a party member who's Jedi but this just means that you don't have to go through your own Jedi (re)training before the planet-hopping. Man, that was too long!
  6. At least Malak didn't have three floating lightsabers, and I think it was rather clever to have it that you could use those Jedi bodies in K1 to your advantage if you have the powers.
  7. I hope when you say great purpose you're not talking about some epic journey to take on the True Sith or any of that BS I just didn't get. (Good concept though, but if they turn on you, who do you play if you take over them)
  8. So the Force Pike is crap (I've never used it) , you think this is the reason why...
  9. Just because people tihnk the engine is good doesn't mean they want it used again. You're drawing too many conlcusions. It's not implied that Good is the same as Good enough.
  10. My game hardly crashes at all (I'm WinXP) - biggest problem for me were the quest/script bugs
  11. I didn't see anything wrong it - standard (nearly) strip search
  12. I get what's happening but the only thing which really got my attention was the (I'm assuming) Kate Beckinsale photo.
  13. It is possible to get HK-47 into a confrontation, despite all the cuts. Check out CanterwoodBoy's thread on Finishing K2 in 7 hours: (<{POST_SNAPBACK}>) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you get any HK to HK dialog though?
  14. I think many people think Palpatine was more obvious simply because they had seen the later episodes later, and even though I don't think it was explicity mentioned in the original movies, people just found out from others. I'd say Kreia was more obvious, just from the advice she gave and all that sorta stuff. I have a feeling that when it came to Episode III and Palpatine urging Anakin on, Lucas assumed that the audience knew this. Have you checked to see if it's too late to add a poll to this?
  15. Well from all the pre-game material and just the way the game has handled overall I wouldn't be suprised if having her as a member was in the works.
  16. I rather like the concept. I haven't thought about it too much depth-wise (like do you "ditch" your master), but I'd rather have deeper character development versus POOF, you're a Jedi. Maybe if the convertable party members were a bit like Bastila finding Revan Taris (yes, yes, I know....) where you get someone on your party who is not a Jedi, but displays Jedi talent, as opposed to getting Atton who becomes a Jedi without any talent except getting into trouble.
  17. Which music track from K1 (I don't remember much of the K2 ones so I'm keeping it simple for now) do you find most peaceful? You can use any interpretation you want, whether it be the music which is most relaxing, best for self-reflection, somber, makes you forget the Sith War, etc. For me, Manaan was probably the softest music but it was too much of a baby lullaby, so I went with Taris because I found it well, I'm not how to say it; "head clearing".
  18. When it comes to the start of planet hopping it depends on what information the player wants to know. Like at the start of the KotOR games your mission is set and never changes, where as in a developing story, it won't feel repetitive with "3 down, 2 to go".
  19. I just think Kreia is an old witch who made up stuff. As for the Masters, well, I just think their theories are wrong.
  20. Efficiency = amount of graphics power required for a particular quality A lot of people seem to want to make sure that KotOR 3 has a new engine - something I'm sure will happen regardless simply cos it needs to keep up with the times. I did find it strange that some people said the graphics look poor and stuff like that. Now I know it's a not a Half-Life 2 (which wasn't out), but I found the whole effects with hair, non-wooden lip-syncing, and fast open areas great. When I played KotOR 1, I was suprised it ran as well as it did on my old GeForce4 440. Personally, I voted G/G. The graphics looked good, as good as No One Lives Forever 2, which was made I think a year before, which is why I didn't give it the revolutionary vote. Back then decent lip-sync games where much less common (heh, Jedi Academy puppet mouths).
  21. Anybody here Jackie Chan Adventures (ending cartoon series) fans? One reason for the ending was that every season was different but followed the same pattern of travelling around world and picking up or doing a particular task/item, depending on the theme the series was on (ie, it got boring). So for me, the idea of travelling around looking for something was familiar - not boring, but I was disappointed when even in LS, it didn't really amount to anything . KotOR is about travelling with a party doing stuff so I when it comes to the task, maybe they should change it so it's a bit like an open Star Trek Final Unity (v. old game). In that, rather than finding pieces to solve a puzzle, it's more like following the clues/trails to solve the puzzle, but you were free to go anywhere (in space) as well. So the idea I'm just floating is that you have like 8 to 10 planets (lots of work, I know), and you can go to any of them if you want, but in terms of the main story only 2 or 3 planets are useful at the current stage of story, and after that, the clues will lead to the other planets or even back to old visited ones. It would take a lot of storyboard planning work to design lots and lots of scenarios for it to not seem linear so LucasArts would need some patience - I'm guessing we picked up some after seeing what happened to K2. It's all a bit of rough sketch at the moment but I hope you get what I'm trying to say.
  22. I'm pretty sure it was never the plan to use the same engine for KotOR 3, so should e no worries there (except for people like me with crap computers and no money) I think the KotOR 2 story had been fully mapped out but not enough time, and so as a consequence, we have the cut content stuff and lots of small cuts here and there which made the side quests seem really shallow and the end incomplete.
  23. The power itself is LS; what you do after it is different. It's more a conequence of it being a game - it's like asking why you can't knock all your enemies out rather than killing them all.
  24. OMG. Kreia is evil! The big surprise!!!!
  25. K2 style stories seem more suited for movies. I know there are people who think opposite but I like games which, although blantantly obvious in some parts, still provides a fulfulling experience. And at least with a movie, you are not the Exile, so you won't be annoyed that you can't ditch Kreia - just accuse the onscreen character of being stupid...
