  1. What's the big deal with what it's called? It looks good...that's enough for me, and to the people who Aimo and others have inspired to learn how to draw like her/them, I don't think they care too much what it's called either. I'm probably more of a Male Revan/Male Exile fan storywise but still brilliant. Really levels the field between who's top of Bastila, Atris, female Exile.
  2. Wow! Great work by all! Being a male ofcourse most of my attention to detail was in Bastila..... Oh man, now I feel so untalented and small....
  3. Well I have an ATI X800XL and I just did a quick-save test and it worked fine and instantly. Why would you use the same drivers and settings? I suppose if you had ATI drivers new enough which supported the X850XT it should be fine but still better to get the latest - unless they are the latest, so just check the site to be sure, but I DO NOT think you need to reinstall them if they are. Try running the video setup again from the Autorun again and saving the settings (maybe it does some weird detection/saving thing in it). Another possibility is that your hard drive is going weird - see if there's any constant HD activity during the freezes, although I doubt this is the case at all.
  4. Well as a start just get the latest drivers from the ATI site. I know they aren't special or tweaked or anything but try going back to basics and I guess having the latest version of the drivers in general. If that doesn't work then definitely reinstall.
  5. Nope. It's a normal VB Windowed App without any full screen resizing thingies - which is what made the KotOR 2 look more appealing cos it wasn't too small for high-res screens. As far as my skill goes it would be a lot of work to go full screen and would probably stretch ugly anyway. If you're talking about the earlier cases of an update every few days - then no; nothing is in sight (there is stuff to do but nothing in at least a week unless it's a big bug). If you've been "tainted" by Obsidian or BioWare patches which create problems rather than fix them, I'm pretty, well I guess very sure this one (1.0.4) is safe.
  6. But I didn't do anything! What did you do to fix it?
  7. Could you post your basic specs? Mainly processor, ram and graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon ####). Well slow but supported cards (so not integrated graphics) should just lag and really shouldn't lock up unless it's THAT bad/old. As a guide, my GeForce4 440 Go can play it alright, and that's between a Mobile Radeon 7500 and 9000. I guess it's just the obvious options for now: - Game Patch - ATI Drivers - Full Uninstall/Reinstall the game - Background programs At least I can help you with that...
  8. The readme says those cards are unsupported - ofcourse I'd try it anyway. Firstly for other potential laptop players, buy a computer with a decent card - like an "nVidia GeForce (blah)" or "ATI Radeon (blah)". Obviously it costs more so you'd need to prioritise whether you want it as a work laptop or desktop replacement. Anyway, it could be your optical drive - I've had my share of poorly made laptop DVD drives from Dell. That was a few years ago but my cousin recently bought one and the problem is still around.
  9. I haven't got any remnant holograms of people on the Ebon Hawk yet but I have the common problem of leftover cutscene people on Nar Shaddaa
  10. Is it a KotOR 2 message or a Windows message (if it comes up as a normal Windows message box it'll be hard to tell). I know this sounds stupid but I can't think of much else to do, but if checking the background programs as suggested doesn't help, maybe you should check if the K2 settings file is read-only? Tried a re-install? Mybe the System Restore stuffed it up....somehow.
  11. Obviously not... , although it's probably a great work laptop as mentioned. Well before I had enough for my X800XL I tried playing on the Intel 915g IGP which didn't work (luckily my old laptop had a GeForce4 440 Go so I was able to at least play it till I got the new card). Although when I was reading ATI IGP vs Intel IGP, the ATI was slightly faster, and had the advantage of more compatability so I'm kinda suprised at this. Good luck in getting it to work.
  12. I'm not gonna boast that this is the best team, but it works for me and is more of a team "theme" like the Charlie's Angels above. When dealing with trivial enemies like Mercs and Animals, I choose "the Blaster Boys" which in K1 was Carth/Canderous and in K2 is HK/Atton (who later got replaced with Mira...) I would take care of the Melee combat.
  13. The player file is written to disk straight after being created (as opposed to creating a player file but never saving it), so I suggest the following things to help establish when the problem occurs: 1. Create a new player, load it (go to the Main Menu) then quit - see if the file is written at all. 2. Assuming it's still there change the options and play a quick campaign game. Then go and see if the file is still there. It is possible that an error has occured while saving but I wouldn't know why cos it seems to work fine everywhere else.
  14. What exactly did you do (like how did you quit)? I haven't heard of this happening before. Uhhh...sorta, but Single Player (Campaign) has nothing to do with the Network deck. In other words the cards you buy or credits you make in Campaign do not affect the Network profile in anyway. On a non-technical point: Does anyone have any opinions on if they want any Pure Pazaak Discussion in this thread ? , rather than a news/updates/help thread (which it still will be). Maybe people could suggest if they have any special tactics (or loopholes) against the AI, ideas for making Network games easier to organise, or maybe I could put it up some of the future feature ideas floating in my head for discussion/refinement by you players?
  15. I just don't bother with that stuff cos it takes too much time - of-course it explains why Pazaak is so full of bugs. Any of you Dev's wanna give my Pazaak AI a run-down for stupid behaviour ? (don't test anything else cos from your POV it will be a bug-filled disgrace)
  16. I found it stupid that helping a clearly DS Kreia is LS. In the end I went nobody and "Apathy is Death" (part of the freak-out too). I didn't "learn" anything from their either.
  17. I say original cos it's in one clean looking piece.
  18. I've been pretty lucky with permanent game killing bugs (like doors that don't open and stuff) but Nar Shaddaa does have it's quest problems. Like I took an Energy Coil (or something like that) and put it into the Pylon console thingy (because I didn't know what it was for but the option was there). Anyway, I put it in and I completed a quest a never started...then later found out I could've put it in that Swoop Bike or whatever it was.
  19. I recommend that too (for a graphics/gamer person) because I'm at Uni and it really is "Computer Science", like studying algorithms and stuff - I wasn't expecting them to but still would've been nice.
  20. I'm at Melbourne Uni and I'm currently in 3rd year Computer Engineering/Computer Science double-degree. Computer Science is Maths and Algorithms, Computer Engineering is like hardware and digital electronics. The Software Engineering course has two real industry projects so it provides demo code for a job app, but in terms of Games my guess is that you would need to learn all that 3D stuff yourself. There are dedicated "Academies" to learn gaming C/C++ programming but I didn't go for it cos it was too narrow.
  21. I'd say C++ and Java are the top - I'm not too sure I'd want to use businesss software written in VB.
  22. Are we talking a home project to do in spare time (like my Pazaak) or what large project we'd like to be on? (I guess that's what no constraints refers to). I'd probably go for a game like Rome Total War style, or a shooter version of KotOR...
  23. Nice to know my P4 3.0ghz isn't so slow after all. X800XL also good sign.
  24. Another update: v1.0.4 The good news is that all the bugs fixed here were there all along and not newly introduced ones so this whole farce of 1 update a day should be over soon (hopefully from now, although this weekend I might try and optimise out the extra space that's grown on it since the first release.
  25. I'm just curious...are there any players besides me who don't like Pazaak that much - "casual players" I guess you could say. Here's a list of the non-labelled functions (commands which aren't all obvious buttons): Splash Screen: - Stop Fading Title Effect: Double-click the "Pure Pazaak" text - Enter Key Load: The Enter/Return key will load the currently selected player. Useful for quickly starting the game if you're the only player. Main Menu: - Select another player: Double-click the "Current player" text at the bottom - Reset arcade highscore: Double-click the Arcade score blue text - Reset (failed) campaign: Double-click the Campaign Stats blue text - Reset multiplayer profile: Double-click the Network Stats blue text Options Screen: - Change portrait: click inside the portrait box (ok, ok, kinda obvious this one) Card/Wager Screen: - Maximum bet: Click the credits label in the wager window Main Game Screen: - Stop pulsing turn lights: Double-click them Network Screen: (explanations) - Your Network IP button: If you are connecting you need to make sure you have the device you want to use to connect selected. Click the button to bring up the detected network IPs and pick the one which matches the device you want to use. - Port: Change the port and as far as I know both players need to be using the same port. Also check firewall, port forwarding and all that sorta stuff if it applies to you.
