Enchanting wise only save the superb/legendary components and durgan's steel, you'll have enough of everything else. Bumping a fine or unenchanted weapon up can be quite usefull as can adding a lash, for armor I like adding a stat bonus for something I'm not getting from another piece of gear already.

Main Story, an atheist cliche?
falchen replied to Brimsurfer's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
They are not Gods, they are false gods creations of ancient Engwithans, game fails to say what kind of beings they are but it made it very clear that they are false gods......since a true God can't be created, he creates instead... So the Forgotten Realms (D&D) gods aren't real gods either? Or what about the greek/roman ones from our cultures? Edited: (was going off topic myself ) The ones that are creation of men are not true Gods....... In BG lore some people of exceptional power may be able to rise or ascend to a station of deity through various feats though......but you know this already I don't know why you asked...... Who the hell is talking about about D&D or any other real word deities? We are talking about PoE lore and PoE makes specific assertion that the so called deities of Eora are not actual Gods, but they are creations of Engwithans, the game is crystal clear on this, can't be any clearer....... I disagree with the assertion that the PoE gods are not gods, because the same arguments that disqualifty them would also disqualify gods from most other pantheons. Even the game itself does not take this as a fact as several characters keep on worshiping them after learning the truth. Way I see i tthe gods weren't always gods (cause they didn't exist), but they are gods now. They are actually more real than the gods of our earth religions since they actually make appearances, answer prayers and all that and souls in the PoE setting are a tangligbe thing that has been confirmed to exist. -

It is kind of a cliche, not necesarily a bad one though. The kind of gods that are in Pillars are actualy more common in fantasy than the other sort, it's just more interesting than the alternative. -
No more enemies

Due to player complains about too many trash mobs many encounters were downsized. -
They do have all the power of gods, the difference is they are kith-made. They exist, they are real. Their origins are not exactly what the people think to be but that doesn't make their power anything lesser.Yes it does. Gods are implicitly creators or progenitors; the POE "gods" are just freakish weird kings with magic powers who were bolted onto existing systems. Think of it like the difference between Obsidian making an isometric CRPG and them claiming to have invented the genre. That's not really different from most gods in fantasy though, hence why the "twist" doesn't come of as all that significant to many players I think. God just makes me thing powerful being that mortals worship.

GAME OF THE YEAR
falchen replied to ojthesimpson's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Yea, the setting is alright but definitely not the main draw. I'd enjoy Pillars just as much if it was set in Forgotten realms or whatever, it's the style and gameplay I like. Depends on what else they could do with though, I wouldn't be interested in a Diablo-like Pillars game, but something more tactical/turn based, maybe? -
Ancient memory bugged?

Oh, that's a weird way to display it, found the proc in the logs now so thanks for clearing that up though. :D -
GAME OF THE YEAR
falchen replied to ojthesimpson's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I kind of see wasteland 2 as an example of how not to do it, it's pretty much just like fallout 1&2, so all the good bits but also all the flaws. Like they went, "hey Fallout was great, let's make a game just like it". Whereas Obsidian went "hey Balbur's gate was great, let's see if we can do it again but better". -

Fallout 4 is a fun shooter/exploration game, sucks as an RPG though. It's like they didn't learn anything from New Vegas. Pillars is great and I'm a big fan of this kind of game, not sure I could vote for it over Witcher 3 though. -
The supplies mechanic is bad
falchen replied to Arnegar's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I think that was mostly due to bad implementiation - it forced you to be either lawfull good or chaotic evil, and if your "addiction" got too high you could die traveling between areas. -
Ancient memory bugged?
falchen replied to falchen's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I'm actually not 100% certain, hence the question. The description of ancient memory makes it look like it shoud basically apply a regen aura to everyone in range, is that right? There is no buff icon for ancient memory on anyone that I can see, though his other chants effects do show up. And only Eder's endurance seems to be going up constantly (from constant recovery). I tried verifying the chase, as well as dismissing and re-training Kana if that helps. -

None else having this problem then, or is this a known bug? -

Just noticed I'm not seeing it affecting any character, neither is anyone's endurance going up during fights. -
So... what's exactly the stash?
falchen replied to Elthalas's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Even better, you could be carrying all that no problem, but pick up just one extra potion and you suddenly can't move. -

Makes perfect sense to me, guess another alternative approach would have been to replace all those xaurip spear etc drops with straight up gold. -

It's just so all those crafting components or non-magical swords and armor you'll only sell next time you are in town don't clutter your main inventory. There's an option to restrict it though I'm not sure what that actually does.
