  1. I enjoyed the story a great deal. However, I think it wraps up too quickly, and the conspiracy isn't given all the time to develop that it needs. To some extent, the revelation at the end made me wonder why someone never managed to discover it before, particularly because your character is not the only watcher to have ever existed. What does your character have that allowed them to discover the truth that others don't? Then again, maybe other watchers or characters in the past HAD discovered the truth, they just didn't live to reveal it to others... Also, Thaos seemed too easy. I'm working my way through the expansion and heard that you can get the final battle buffed, so I'm hoping that makes the fight more interesting.
  2. So far, I like both of them a lot. Devil of Caroc is really well developed and can function as a great caster killer (or even an offtank!) with the right abilities and equipment. I also really love how her personality was developed. The only things I don't like are that she doesn't make that many comments when you're exploring Durgan's battery, and that her personal quest is too short. Zahua is a very interesting character, with some of the more interesting (and amusing) banters. There was one conversation between him and Eder talking about what drugs to feed Durance, which I found particularly hilarious. I've had, however, mixed luck with him in combat. With the right equipment (i.e., tons of deflection), he can dish out decent dps, but requires a lot of attention and micromanagement to use well. Basically, you have to constantly monitor his health while constantly spamming that shock wave ability monks get. I found it a decent way of taking out the spirits in Durgan's battery, though nowhere near as good as Hiravis' chain-fireball spell.
  3. I think the reason why this quest seems unfinished is that the writers were trying to have it exhibit one of Pillar's themes, i.e., does our life have any meaning, and if so, what defines that? In the quest, Kana spends a great deal of his life looking for a text, and when he finds it not only has it turned to rubbish, but doubt is cast upon the nature and intentions of its creator. This forces Kana to reevaluate what he's done all those years and to figure out what meaning, if any, it has. You see similar results with Eder and Sagani's quests: characters technically "meet" their goal, but the revelation they get casts doubt upon whether or not it was worth it to begin with
  4. Don't forget that like Concelhaut, wizards have ways of extending their lives far beyond their natural end. They could be centuries, or even thousands of years old depending on how good they are at avoiding the wrath of Berath
  5. I had to install both of the patches on GoG (don't think it matters what order you do it in though). When I only had the WM patch installed, I had a weird graphical glitch that prevented environments in the game from rendering properly. Everything looked pink, purple, and all psychedlic-like
  6. It looks like this was resolved with the 2.01 Update. Thank you! Looking forward to playing again
  7. Does this resolve the deflection bug in the construct laboratory?
  8. Has anyone figured out how to rescue BOTH people trapped inside? Even after sending a party member in with really high strength and con, I was only able to figure out how to get the woman out. No matter what I did, the guard either got burnt or I took too long to figure out a way to rescue him and the house collapsed.
  9. Thank you! Hoping I'll be able to resume play again soon!
  10. Does anyone know if there's a workaround for this? Like if I head outside the factory and save, and then when I die reload from outside the factory, will the bug still occur? is it only when you reload WITHIN the zone that problems happen?
  11. Where do you slay beetles if you've already, say, slain all the beetles in the game world? Can you kill the ones you summon via figurines for it?
  12. Yeah, considering that the golems become invincible eventually it's all but gamebreaking. Hope they fix it soon. I want my Devil of Caroc
  13. Does life have meaning anymore? Do we really exist? What if we're not HERE, but THERE?!?!?!
  14. In order to access those areas, you have to leave Copperlane or First fires through an exit that leads toward those areas. For example, if you're trying to get to an area that's west of your current zone, you need to get to the world map by leaving through your current zone's western exit.
  15. Yeah this bug is arguably game breaking since you can't really sneak past them
  16. Been having this bug too and it's made Galvino's workshop all but impossible. Going to have to wait for a patch to continue playing I was playing on "hard" with the scaling option enabled.
  17. Has anyone figured out how to do damage to these guys effectively? The groups are a real struggle. Even with debugging I'm having trouble damaging the larger ones, and I rarely of every manage to knock them down for any extended period of time
  18. You can also upscale White March if you're of higher level, which is what I did. However, there's no indication as to what level it's tuned to afterward. My party was level 9 when I started the upscaled version, and it's been fairly challenging and required me to change my strategies a bit.
  19. Really? Interesting... I saw somebody mention something about that, but was a bit puzzled; I started from my pre-pit endgame save (only got the one playthrough!) at level 12 and wasn't given that option, which says it's clever enough to detect my party was max level and automatically scale accordingly. This only applies to the white march. You're probably talking about the fort in the dyrwood, which is meant for lvl 12+ regardless of scaling. Aaaaaah! Right, yes, got it! Yeah, as soon as you attempt to travel to the White March (or after the little intro text "cinematic" plays, I forget which...) you should get the option in a popup menu
  20. I haven't completed part 1 yet, but from what I've heard, it ends on a satisfying note with a minor cliffhanger. The cliffhanger is just enough to make you feel like you've completed something, yet open enough for events to happen in response to your actions in part 1 in part 2.
  21. It seems pointless to have multiplayer in a story driven game with a "chosen one"/"exceptional one" main character. Multiplayer would only make sense to me in a game where the plot is similar to Storm of Zehir, when the protagonists are just a regular adventuring band.
  22. I'm loving it too, as I now have to change and rethink my strategies with the updated AI. The new lizard creatures the expansion adds, in particular, are challenging, and I'm still trying to find a way to beat the brood mother in the new Western forest area.
  23. Itumaak seems to have far more staying more, and to be far more effective in combat after 2.0.
  24. I'm trying to figure out how this works too. I just found it in Od Nua
  25. The stronghold is the same for every class. However, there are buildings within it that grant rest bonuses advantageous to your class (i.e. +3 int), as well as other beneficial effects.
