Kotor 3: Ideas and Suggestions
SteveThaiBinh replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't mind starting as Revan or the Exile from level one weakling-ness, but not another memory loss, please? One or two cameos from Kotor 1, one or two from Kotor 2, but not more. Make a fresh start. Unless you're going to start Kotor 3 as the Exile from the moment the Ebon Hawk leaves Malachor, which would also be fine. -
What company have you had a bad experience with?
SteveThaiBinh replied to Ellester's topic in Way Off-Topic
I've boycotted Nestle since I was at uni, for the same reason. I also boycott Del Monte and buy Fair Trade bananas. My most recent bad experience with a company was downloading Temple of Elemental Evil from Trymedia and trying to get it patched and working, and being bounced from Trymedia 'support' (ha ha) to Atari 'support' (even more ha ha). Towards the end I was starting every email with "PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY. YOU HAVE ALREADY FAILED TO ANSWER MY QUESTION EIGHT TIMES. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANOTHER STANDARD REPLY TO MY EMAIL." Needless to say it had no effect whatsover, but typing the capitals was slightly cathartic, at least. -
Download and install the Handmaiden training cutscene mod from this page. http://magestrix.com/K2End/downloads.html

Crazy Frog game on the way
SteveThaiBinh replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
25 beats 88. The reason being, the annoying frog crashes and dies and the annoying music doesn't play. How can you have a crazy frog game with a gun in which the object is not to kill the frog? Who are these people? -
?

Yes, looks like you haven't really done Dantooine at all. It's a whole new planet. When you've finished it, then Kreia will tell you to go back and the next thing will trigger. If you've done the Jedi enclave, then you have to rescue Vrook from the Kinrath caves, then meet him at Koonda.
-
Three things you could try. First is to leave Dantooine, do something else (finish any side quests), and see if the conversation with Kreia triggers. If you have any quests that aren't marked 'bonus', you could try completing those first. Second is talk to Kreia and try to exhaust all the dialogue options with her. Third is to reload before the final meeting with the last Jedi Master, play again, and see if it triggers something new. Finally, just checking, but have you been on to G0-T0's yacht? Have you defended the Dantooine outpost from the mercenary attack? I do remember someone posting here who had met Vrook, but hadn't gone on to the next stage of the quest which is to organise the defence of Koonda.
-
Do you have a Lost Jedi quest in your journal? What does it say?
-
Have you talked to Kreia? After finishing all the planets, Kreia loses all her normal dialogue options and will only say "Let's go to Dantooine" or somesuch. You might need to talk to her to trigger events.

Crazy Frog game on the way

I guess you could start a new game with a new character (you won't lose the first character, the games will be saved separately), and play until you first meet Kreia. Trigger a conversation with her, then try reloading your original character. Beyond that, I'm stumped, I'm afraid.

Difficult to make the case that user grades are a more reliable reflection of opinion than posts on this forum. Neither can make any claim to be representative. Plus, a lot of people who are critical of certain aspects of the game (like the ending) nevertheless liked the rest of the game. I thought the ending was very weak, but I could still rate the game in the high 80s overall.

Obsidian.net gives me this website. Obsidian.com gives me nothing. Are you getting something that's being blocked at my end?

HELP "INSTALLING" PROBLEM
SteveThaiBinh replied to craig_fosse_313's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ask them. Manufacturers used to do that, and EA still does, I think. -
That's an understatement. I'm thrashing about wildly, now. Have you just finished Nar Shaddaa and everything, including G0-T0's yacht? I remember that conversations between NPCs were disabled for part of the yacht, so that might be when it kicked in - try restoring a game from before then. Otherwise, try visiting a different planet, maybe? Do other NPCs (party and non-party) work OK? Maybe if you can trigger a conversation with another NPC where Kreia or Bao-Dur would normally chip in, and that would overcome it. Dantooine is good for those. I don't remember this ever coming up before, but a search of the forum might reveal something.
-
You can make the lightsaber outside the Ebon Hawk, I think - try this. If you're lucky, engaging him successfully in conversation outside the ship will remove the glitch on speaking inside as well.
-
Just because it's not a common belief of everyone, doesn't mean that it's not a valid opinion. TSL got some excellent reviews, many good reviews, and some less favourable reviews. And forgive my ignorance, but what exactly do you mean by user grades? It's always hard to assess these things, so the following is my impression only, and fully open to challenge. I think that a majority of players who completed the game were unimpressed by the ending, and that of those, the majority who come across information about the cut ending say that the cut endings would have been preferable to the actual ending. Until or unless a proper survey is conducted and the results released, I can't know for sure, though, and neither can anyone else.

Standard Characters Vs Choice Characters
SteveThaiBinh replied to Kata_mad's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What's a cop-out? Force LS characters to accept the consequences of their morality? Turning their opponents into real people who might surrender or even repent, or give the appearance of repenting? Hardly. Or you mean reducing the number of intelligent foes? Well, maybe. I was thinking of it more as a compromise - a way of making the game more realistic without making it deathly dull. More people would be LS if the game truly presented them with the consequences of their actions. The reality of evil is that it isn't cool, it's pathetic. -
:D Based on what? Were there screenshots?

Should Tatooine and/or Kashyyk be in KotOR 3
SteveThaiBinh replied to User Name's topic in Obsidian General
I just can't imagine it being so dire that people won't watch it, or enough die-hard fans to make it viable. I mean, people paid money to see Attack of the Clones, after all. I thought TV in the US was always based on a team of writers, isn't that right? If that happens, then the worst Lucasisms will be expunged and the product might actually be good. -
