  1. I thought it was funny, although I admit I did borrow it from a friend and might have thought differently if I'd paid money for it. It was quite short, but I enjoyed for once an adventure in a modern setting with no fantasy or magic, plus some humour and romance. It was sweet. I guess you won't be buying Runaway 2. :D I agree about the Broken Sword ones, but 1 and 2 are quite old. I recommend buying 3 first, and if you find you like the characters, get 1 and 2 and learn the backstory.
  2. Any small group of Sith splitters can wander off into unknown territory and start calling themselves the 'True Sith'. They probably had a row with the main Sith bosses about which end of an egg to slice or something. Or which limb to hack off first. They may have found some massive powerful technology left by an ancient and forgotten Empire - and if Bioware develops the game I'm sure this will be the case - but the True Sith is just what they choose to call themselves.
  3. I would be too terrified to tell anyone, for fear of being carted off to a secret government laboratory and experimented on. I'm sure the CIA would love a 'girl bomb' to go with its 'gay bomb'.
  4. You mean the AI, pathfinding and all that will stay the same? Hmmm... I would have thought it was 3D though - 2D suggests Arcanum or Planescape to me. Pretty is always good - maybe they'll make the environments a bit less sterile.
  5. If Obsidian is smart I guess they'll do as much as they can pre-release, with their own QA people catching most bugs, and perhaps even releasing a beta to people who pre-order (like Galactic Civilizations 2 - I don't know if this is unusual) and getting their input. I wonder if the fact that Obsidian are developing their own new engine will make it easier or harder to release a less-bugged game.
  6. That means there's a chance that NWN2 will be released in better condition than Kotor 2 was, but it still won't be perfect (no PC game could be, I guess). You'll still need time/money/manpower to implement patches after release - would the same QA people necessarily be kept on for this?
  7. Warning to all non-Europeans: Don't follow the frog. Don't listen to the frog. Don't buy the frog. Save yourselves while you can.
  8. So it's not so much money that you have now, or at least not entirely that - it's more about reputation and the confidence you have (and your bank manager has) that your next game will sell. Where's the space for innovation in all of this?
  9. Is the whole crazy frog thing only in the UK, or is it to be found in other parts of the world? I don't see why we should be the only ones to suffer. Oops, I mean, I think this fabulous new evolution of culture should be shared as widely as possible.
  10. What is it about Bioware that's made it able to publish its own games? Is it just money earned from successful games? Is it risky even for them? It seems to avoid a lot of potential danger in the developer/publisher relationship, so what's stopping Obsidian from doing the same?
  11. The Longest Journey Syberia (1, not 2) Post Mortem Broken Sword 3 Discworld Noir Gabriel Knight 3 Grim Fandango Runaway And many many more...
  12. When Fionavar finally closes this thread, I think it will be more in pity than in anger. Who can say why a ninja smiles? :D Yuuki 100%! :D
  13. Wouldn't that apply to all of them? Not that I'd know, of course.
  14. Ninja power is beyond ultimate. :D Especially when they come in threes. Your bukkake smilies will not protect you from the wrath of the ninja.
  15. One would hope, but apparently the new 'Wookies can't be Jedi" rule does precisely that. Bastila would be Darth Bastyula.
  16. It's a trainee ninja hood, as anyone with eyes should be able to see. Perhaps if you got an avatar with better reception...
  17. Though apparently the Visas introduction movie is an exception, and you can download a mod that plays it with the game engine instead of the movie.
  18. I thought her loyal subjects pretty much were the debris.
  19. The Vikings were Anglo-Saxon?
  20. Has anyone ever actually produced a working version of this game? It's the chess-like one with the alien pieces, right? I mean on a computer, not real pieces, although that would be fun too.
  21. Be careful what you wish for.
  22. I know, this and the make webmoney thread. Maybe it's a national holiday in moderatorland?
  23. Best comic-book heroine, rather. I wanted to vote for April Ryan. But I did vote for Rogue. :D
  24. Are you in solo mode, or have you actually removed Atton and Kreia from your party?
  25. Only on Malachor, the dullest centre of evil in the known universe. Otherwise you miss the pretty scenery!
