Metagroupie! :D I honestly cannot see how Revan's actions made the galaxy - Republic and Sith - better able to resist an external threat. He drove the two factions into all-out war, leaving both devastated with much of their military gone and the Republic's economy in ruins. If anything, Revan's actions look more like those of an agent of the True Sith/external threat, fomenting chaos before the invasion begins. Same goes for Kreia. Then better to accept the lesser evil: the lesser evil is the lesser of two evils!

You wake up as your twelve year old self
SteveThaiBinh replied to Reveilled's topic in Way Off-Topic
We had a thread/poll here a while back in which we voted our age, and I'm pretty sure the band that included 30 was the most voted (maybe 26-30?). There were plenty of people older, though. I can't seem to find it any more - maybe it was lost in the Great Forum Shift. -
Build a better Bush is just the most engrossing thing on the internet. (w00t) Sorry, that's off-topic. You were talking about Lord Tingeling. Go ahead. Don't mind me.

Yes, she berates you when you kill someone for no reason. But she's fine if you murder someone to serve your own purposes. Let's take a step back from Star Wars and think about the real world and our real lives. Killing another person to further our own interests is evil - not neutral!
-
Apart from all the ones she killed, or got killed through her manipulations. I can accept your interpretation of Kreia's motives, but it's very much 'The ends justify the means'. I don't agree - I think that if your path to success is stained with blood then the success itself becomes tainted, and nothing good can come of it, however noble your original intentions were.

Yes, she was evil, for all the reasons you said. One of the frustrating things in the game is that you have to keep her with you, even if the Exile is strongly Light Side. While it's understandable that you need to keep her safe because of the force bond between you, I wanted to lock her up in Ebon Hawk (where HK or Mira usually stand), preferably after sound-proofing her cell.

What happened at M 5 during the war?
SteveThaiBinh replied to Quietus1's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
As you posted in the right forum, I'll try to answer the question as best I can. The problem is that the game doesn't explain clearly - instead, you have lots of little bits that you have to put together. As far as I understand it, it goes something like this: Malachor was a secret Sith academy long before Kotor 1. It's a special place somehow strong in the Dark Side. During the Mandalorian Wars there was a major battle at Malachor, the turning point of the war (though not the last battle) which led to Mandalore's defeat and Revan's victory. The conventional battle was won because a machine called the Mass Shadow Generator (created by Bao Dur) did something , though I'm not sure it was ever explained precisely what the machine did. Secretly, Revan knew that a devastating battle at Malachor would 'corrupt' lots of Jedi, and this is what happened. There was a massive wave of evil as a result of so many deaths + Malachor's special Dark Side-ness. All the Jedi were either killed or turned to the Dark Side because of it, apart from the Exile. The Exile cut off his connection to the Force, saving her from either death or falling to the DS. After the Mandalorian Wars Kreia found the old Sith Academy and fell to the Dark Side, becoming Darth Traya. She re-opened the academy and started training Sith Assassins. At some point, Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion joined her. They quarrelled, and Traya/Kreia was throw out. She left in search of the Exile. Eventually the Exile returned to Malachor, but what happens next depends on whether you chose the LS or DS path in the game. It's a while since I played or thought about this, so if anyone is willing to correct my mistakes, that'd be great. :D -

What EXACTLY happened at Malachor V?
SteveThaiBinh replied to Quietus1's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Information about this will of course include spoilers, as this is a very important part of the game. People might be more willing to answer if you post over in the spoilers forum. Nevertheless, the ending of the game isn't terribly clear and there have been plenty of debates and discussions on these forums as to what happened and what it meant. It's hard to give a clear answer to your question. -
Vote for KOTOR 2 in G-Phoria!
SteveThaiBinh replied to Wynne's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That was fun. Kotor 2 is the only game on the page I've played. Having a 'game of the year' category at the end is strange - doesn't that rather preempt the winner in the genre categories? Sara Kestelman should have been there for best voice actress. These people have no taste. -

What would you do if you woke up as a woman?
SteveThaiBinh replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Way Off-Topic
I think you should take it as given that if you wake up in a woman's body you will have a woman's sexual desires, which may indeed be heterosexual or homosexual or both. I've no idea how it would feel to have these desires and also the memories of a man's desires. It's possible that the memories would just fade away as the present body is unable to make sense of them. -
The AFI release list of 100 top movie quotes
SteveThaiBinh replied to kumquatq3's topic in Way Off-Topic
"You had me at 'hello.'" Really? That's in the top 100? It made me cringe! Almost as bad as Andie MacDowell: "Is it raining? I hadn't noticed." EDIT: Here's a better one from Black Hawk Down: US Ranger: "Thank you, Malaysian UN Peacekeepers, for risking your lives to save us." Oh no, sorry, that was cut from the final version. -
The forums quite often mess up and post a new topic twice - it's usually nothing to do with the poster. However, you need to post this in the spoilers forum, DARTHPON.

Let's have Stargate, the Lord of the Rings and the Muppets thrown in for good measure.

The LSL games were made by Sierra, of course. Does Sierra still exist? LSL 4 was the best. -

You can also get Lure of the Temptress by the same company free online. And these are freeware, not abandonware, and thus completely legal, Baley. -

Fret myself into a stupor worrying about preserving the timeline and the grandfather paradox. I would choose a single career and focus on achieving it, rather than waiting until I popped out of university to wonder what in the world I might be qualified to do. -

I don't know what was in the demo of Broken Sword 3, but if it was the start of the game, then it wasn't representative of the game as a whole. The jumping puzzle was never really repeated to that extent, and while the boxes were extremely dull and pointless, the plot and dialogue were good enough to make up for it. If a couple of daft puzzles are what's required to sell the game to today's yoof, thus making the game as a whole financially viable, then I can put up with pushing boxes in ever sillier circles now and then. -
