  1. Someone who's familiar with assembler would be a great asset for this project IMO.
  2. It's only for 19
  3. After beating KotOR II, my girlfriend insisted on trying another RPG, while i suggested trying the original Baldur's gate, she wants to play it on the xbox, leaving the only option to Dark Alliance 1. So therefore i ask you, do you have any experience with the game? What's good and not good and so on...
  4. KotOR patch version 1.01 was released before the game itself. You couldn't even play the game before that patch.
  5. Re-read my post. Lucas Arts probably does own the music, I stated that in my post. That's not the issue. The issue was Lucas Arts owns the rights to the music, but it was up to Obsidian's discretion in how THEY CHOOSE TO IMPLEMENT IT into KOTOR2. And they made the *decision to implement it in MONO! THUS, OBSIDION, NOT LA, IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE. If you still can't get it through your head, maybe someone can translate the above in eubonics for you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who's "OBSIDION?" Are you implying that Chris Parker, producer of Obsidian Entertainment flat out lied when i asked him about it? Also, the soundtrack was recorded at Skywalker sound with a live orchestra, are you saying that Lucasarts payed a sh*tload of money to do a soundtrack, only to toss it at Obsidian saying "Here, do what the hell you want with it!". Not likely. And last, check out the Sound producer and sound engineer for the soundtrack. Guess where they work?
  6. w00t! 100 000 views. If only the modders can do something about it, most have said "cool idea", but no one has actively tried to mod the ending as far as i know.
  7. You're wrong on every account, read Mark Griskey's (the composer) diary at gamespot. When the Xbox version came out, i ripped all the songs to mp3 and asked Obsidian for permission to release it as a torrent. They answered that they don't control it, since they have no involvement in making the soundtrack. They later forwarded my PM to one of the producers of Lucasarts, who said no. Remember that we're talking about Star Wars here, Lucasarts have much more to say than a regular publisher has over the developer's game.
  8. You do realize that Obsidian has nothing to do with the sound/soundtrack? Obsidian wrote the story, dialogue and the actual gamecontent. Voiceovers, music, sound effects and bugtesting was done by Lucasarts.
  9. The story in SW Galaxies sucks and it's a crappy game <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And you can't implement co-op in an rpg without the story suffers.
  10. Well, there we have it. Let's leave it to the modders then (if they're interested).
  11. I fail to see how it would be a sign of weakness. Further, I fail to see why Obsidian would worry more about the industry than the consumers. Their competitors aren't helping them to pay the bills, after all. If they released the origional intended ending it would: 1) Restore faith among those who lost it after discovering what happened 2) Make them more popular among those who don't mind it that much 3) It's optional, so those people who don't like it don't have to use it 4) The worst that can happen is some people won't care. Releasing a finished ending, or officially supporting a modding project to restore the ending, is a win-win situation all around. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is highly pure speculation, i think it's more in their concern about compared to other companies, not the general public. Who knows what and why (but i still blame the xbox )
  12. There's a tool called XboxISOreader, written in C#, and you need .NET v1.1 to run it. I can't remember the link anymore though.
  13. It's more a sign of weak prestige to rest of the industry it Obsidian/Lucasarts release the "cut ending" as a free download. For those who have looked at the code know that there's isn't really that much work to do with ending (most of it is still there, aside from the animations, untriggered). If they really wanted to, it would take them a month to do it, bugtesting included. Openly admitting that they released a half-finished product and do something about it is more difficult than saying nothing.
  14. When reading through the xbox .ISO, i noticed that it's the same. Funny thing though, the Republic Commando demo eats up almost every byte of the image, there's no room for another 40mb for a higher resolution of the audio. Hmmm....
  15. Halo 1 & 2 have a combined sales of 11 million IIRC...
  16. There's Star Wars Galaxies for that, no need for multiplayer in KotOR.
  17. There are some people who would have screamed like howlermonkey on crack if they posted here, but i think the majority here has provided constructive critizism.
  18. I've saw this link at slashdot last week, it's strange that the link is still up. And just like TPM, ATOTC, the third istallment of Star Wars looks stunning. Then......then the dialogue came in.
  19. Sounds like you're describing KotOR there In any case, if i can get the past the graphics, i will give it a try someday. Ofcourse the biggest thing is to find it though (legally).
  20. ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The path of enlightment is never easy
  21. Wait for the patch, then buy it (hopefully it takes care of most of the bugs). Then when you played it, read the "Cut ending stuff"-thread in the spoilers forum. And after that, go and sign the petition, which can also be found in the spoilers forum.
  22. That's like answering "The guns" when asking about Halo. Care to elaborate?
  23. I need to play PS:T sometime, never seen such consensus in praise along the RPG-community. What made it so damn good?
  24. It's all down to personal taste, i can't see myself play K1 for quite a while, since the dialogue feels way too simple. Not to mention the difference in the romance dialogue between The Exile and Visas vs. Revan and Bastila.
  25. "Zanmato" Eventhough the bosses were hard to beat, and as you said, it just takes more time to defeat them, it wasn't dreadfully boring.
