  1. BTW where does it say in the Bill of Rights that it required the fedral government to provide healthcare. Also I believe taxation is robbery. Look in Washington State, the Democrats control the Governer (Hopefully shortly), House and Senate. We are in high in debt. The democrats believe that higher taxes will fix the economy. So their planning a 15 cents tax hike on gas, raising sin taxes, and also raise property taxes. It was high taxes that runied this economy, by moving jobs somewhere else. God If Washington state had a smaller government and low taxes. Boeign will still be here in Seattle and not in Chicago. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think that i read somewhere that most common perception of freedom in europe is social equality guaranteed by the elected goverment, while in the US it's guaranteed by the individual own search for personal freedom. While the european version can lead to a corrupt goverment with the political elite at top, the american version takes that vacuum created by a lack of elected goverment into the big corporations, where another elite dictate the society instead. While there isn't a non-corrupted goverment, there will never be true "free market" either.
  2. Since i'm from Finland, i more less have the same stance in politics as people from my neighbouring countries(Sweden, Norway and Denmark). The only down-side is ofcourse higher taxes and the "Jante-law"-mentality. But the positive sides outweight them greatly. That's why i'm having a hard time to understand american republicans, since i feel that free healthcare and education is a right, not a luxory. I when i pay high taxes, i never feel like i'm being "robbed" by someone who didn't deserve their education or healthcare. To me, it's more like a "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" social contract to your society, which leaves less people behind and giving as many people as possible to have a fair start in life.
  3. I won't buy a X-Box but to be honest the specs of the X-Box 2 is mighty impressive. I might buy that and if the X-Box 2 can play X-Box 1 games, I will more than likely get JE. At least renting it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As Drakron said, it's not even known if it's backwards compatible.
  4. Wait, wait wait. I found this at actiontrip. Obsidian using Unreal Engine 3.0 in their next game? True or false?
  5. Hell yes, i went through extracting the sounds from the xbox-version for my own personal soundtrack. It's definately worth the task.
  6. Yup, unluckily for Obsidian the terms were diffirent: 1. Bioware was a big company already who couldn't and wouldn't be pushed around by suits with excel charts and businessmodels. 2. Suddenly KotOR won a sh1tload of awards and sold atleast 1 million copies. The suits at LA saw oppurtunity when hiring a new company, recommended by Bioware, who wouldn't be so persistent against their excellent excel flowcharts and bulletproof businessmodels.
  7. Remember folks, IGN gave Black & White and GTA: San Andreas a 9.9 score aswell. The only games that actually scored a perfect '10' at IGN are "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" and "Soul Calibur".
  8. Aurora: How's the status of patch? have you tried to implement all cut material into one savegame, or have you just tried with one content at a time?
  9. There's an article about which gamedevelopers are supporting the Xbox 2 (Xbox Next, Xbox 360 or whatever) and Lucasarts are one of them. While it might be far-fetched, i haven't seen any Xbox 2 title from Lucasarts yet.
  10. Yes, that's the score. They claim that the story is something that people will talk about for years to come. Add this to a mere 22 hour gaming experience. I'm curious about what gamespot's review will be. Linky
  11. Not necessarily true. The references where more of an empire of Sith followers (hence the "true" Sith), compared to the people following Revan and Malak. I do not see any reason why they should be uber-powerful in any way.
  12. The game is officially complete, yes. But there was a post from Chris Avellone stating they had asked LA for permission to do a "content" patch. The extent of the changes such patch would effect is unknown. That post lasted a day or so before the whole thread was deleted. Don't hold your hopes too high. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Rejected and subject was closed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nothing to be suprised about. Thanks for telling us though.
  13. Some of the later posts are...disturbing.
  14. Since predecessor didn't get it's soundtrack released, i don't think that there will be an official release of this one either.
  15. They can, if they want to. TSL is the intellectual property of Lucasarts, and no one is allowed to change it but themselves.
  16. You can listen to "The Sith Lords" or "Darth Sion theme" at the composer's homepage-->linky.
  17. So my leaping to Nur's defense is bad form? Impolite? Inappropriate? Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why do you care about my opinion? Does it matter in any way?
  18. TSL is really a good game, when you're playing it without knowing about the cut content ofcourse. Otherwise, it can ruin your game experience. Off-topic, i don't think that either Nur or numberman take each others arguments seriously, and neither should we. If a mod gets tired of the jibbering and locks the thread, then so be it. But let them ramble now at the time being.
  19. While it doesn't share the same quality as the samples at Mark Griskey's homepage, those are definately an improvement. Keep on the good work!
  20. I think it was at post-release interview on Gamespot where Mike Gallo said something in the vein of "Several projects have material that never made the final cut, the same thing happens in the movie-industry. Sith Lords wasn't an exception" Basically, Lucasarts thinks that Sith lords is good as it is, no matter how much the community cries and b*tches about it. And add to that, Chris himself asked permission to do the cut content. KotOR II is done and fine as it is in their eyes.
  21. Without reading the rest of the thread, i say that the PC has a huge advantage over any console: SDK + other non-gamer options. If you have a PC for the sole reason to play games, then sell it already and buy yourself a console instead. As for TSL on Xbox vs PC, the PC has a more stable framerate, better graphics and yadda-yadda...except for one thing, the audio: The xbox is connected to my home theater system.
  22. While i haven't played any of the Fallouts, i don't see a problem with the idea of a turn-based combat system. FFX had it, and it was fun enough for me.
