Where's the tape-recorder?
-
Heh, "something" will be announced "soon".
-
Oh well, one just have to wait then.
-
When was the announcement of Obsidian making an expansion for NWN2? Did i miss something?
-
Ninja Gaiden was one of the reason on why i bought the original Xbox.
-
Too bad that there aren't any card that support those formats yet. Only the PS3 supports DD-HD as far as i know.
-
Unless you have some very expensive equipment, the loss of DD/DTS is negligible for the common user. For example, someone with a standard Creative or Logitech speakers will not hear the difference. And also, i have tried CMSS, but its separation for the speakers aren't as good as native 5.1 that DD/DTS supports IMO

I am a "copper dragon", whatever the hell that is.

I think i can sum it up like this: 1) If your amp has a digital input and a supports DD/DTS decoding, go with Intel's HD Audio, since it support DD/DTS-encoding on the fly, which the Audigy does not. HTPC enthusiasts love this feature. Many claim that that feature alone makes it superior to the Audigy. Every game, every .mp3 and movie is heard through 5.1, pretty nice actually. 2) For gaming, go with the Audigy, it supports EAX 4, HD Audio only supports EAX 2. 3) For sound quality, Intel HD Audio is generally(this is a bit difficult, because of the sheer amount of different HD audio codecs by different manufactures) at par with the Audigy, but the X-Fi is still the king.

There could be several reasons on why it blows. I've noticed that earlier drivers for the RealTek HD audio device can vary, some drivers even lacked EAX support, get the newest ones if that helps. Another reason could be the amp, have you tried playing with DD enabled through a digital cable? And finally, i have never tried playing with headphones, since i prefer a full 5.1 system instead. There might be some problems with Realtek and headphone settings. But that doesn't matter really, since previously with the AC '97-standard, it often meant that the onboard is doo-doo compared to any dedicated soundcard. For my part, it's the first time the onboard blows the Audigy out of the water IMHO.

That isn't necessarily true anymore. My mobo for my Core 2 Duo is supporting dolby digital 5.1 Live (@96kHz), which works pretty good with a standard digital reciever (which i have) and a set regular 5.1 speakers (which i also have). When playing Oblivion, i can even say that my onboard HD audio works better than the Audigy card that i have for safekeep. I didn't notice any framerate-drops either with DD Live enabled. AMD mobo's should support this feature as well. There's even mobo's with DTS NEO-PC (6.1 digital @192kHz) and Dolby Pro-logic IIx (7.1 digital @192kHz) for the enthusiasts out there.

It's good to see that they've brought the writer from the Deus Ex-games with them, hopefully the new project wil be as great as Deus Ex was. One thing that i liked about (most) the games that Spector was involved with, was that the gameworld had mature tone and atmosphere to it, never insulting the player's intelligence.

Eh, the two endings share no similarities. Berserk doesn't even end has such, they just stopped making episodes, the manga story goes on while the anime one is a stub. Evangelion just had an end thats meaning is open for discussion. Exactly, and the ending of the anime version of Berserk wasn't "lame". A mindf*ck would be a better description. A highly recommended anime btw.

That's a bit more than expected. When i bought my copy 3 years ago, the price was set at the time at 18,90

I just started to watch Death Note. A pretty unusual anime from those that i've seen before, very dark and gloomy. Episodes 1-7 would qualify as one of the best that i've seen. Also, you got to love the new intro.

i hate it when people that don't understand what "science" is use it to state some agenda as well. taks Don't be so paranoid, unless your agenda is against free beer for everyone
-
ok, i guess because the media say so it must be... i hate to tell you, but there is no such thing as proven scientifical fact. that's not the way science works in the first place, i.e. the goal of science is not to prove anything, it is merely to disprove alternatives. anybody whose life/career is based on science can tell you that. second, there is no such thing as scientific (not scientifical) fact anyway. taks Sorry, it was a mistype. What i meant was that there's conclusive evidence that a global warming is happening as we speak, if you go back a 100 years or so, and scientists are investigating wether if humans accelerate it. But if you go back 5000 years(where the weather was way warmer than today), it seems like it's more of a cycle, regardless of human intervention. We simply don't have enough data. To give an example, Greenland was named Greenland for a reason.

My Xbox360 isn't doing much at the moment, except for playing DVD's. Too bad that there's isn't any games that interest me right now.

/me puts his fist in the air and screams with a nerdy volcun dialect: "CYYRSES!" The political climate must be a deadbeat when people debate on the electrical bills of an ex-politican, submitted by a think-thank. NEVER post the crap any think-thank publishes (their job is to bend the truth according to the payment of their client, left or right). There are more important issues in global politics than this pile of filth. Global warming isn't a political issue that someone can "believe" in. It's already a proven scientifical fact, but the scientists are still investigating on how much impact humanity, the sun and other parts of nature has on it, and even if it's still part of a cycle. They simply don't have enough data to come to anyconclusive evidence yet. Then these "think-thanks" come in, some have the "sky is falling, act now!"-message, usually cited by enviromental groups and Al Gore and others say "Everything's fine, no worries, can we drill more oil in alaska?" (No points for guessing on who are using those think-thanks). There's nothing wrong with taking precausions, but i hate it when science is being used as an agenda by different political and industrial groups.

I know a girl that practices yoga. But she isn't a geek though

Yup. It would be no Wing Commander without Mark Hamil. Come on EA, don't be too cheap  I don't know, the first two Wing Commanders didn't have Mark Hamill (nor did they have some chap named Christopher Blair). I enjoyed Wing Commander 3, but I found the first two to be significantly better. j/k Personally, i liked the second one the most.
