  1. that's the final part of communism that i was referring to. if they don't dump the totalitarian gov't, i doubt their growth will continue at this pace. a free exchange of ideas is required to fully support free market economics, and they do not have that. they can't even publish news articles about tianamen square. i suppose you mean "dependent on oil?" either way, they both have some issues they cannot overcome with their heavy handed governments. i'm guessing we'll see civil war in both sometime in the future. as the middle class in china grows, it will want more freedom. russia's just, well, a mess. i feel sorry for them. they got their long awaited freedom only to have improper management by the government. they didn't know how to deal with it and things spun out of control. corruption ruled. taks Wow there, slow down a minute. That's more like within next 50 years, i was talking about next 25 years And sorry for the obvious mistake about the oil, my "engrish"-skills weren't working
  2. Where's the insult? That the claim of the foundation of creationism is insidious and non-scientific? I never called you any names or even insulted you personally.
  3. Creationism USES RELIGION, PREFERABLY CHRISTIANITY AS ITS DOGMA when trying to prove that there's an invisible creator behind everything. They cherry-pick parts of science wherever it fits them. It's against the very philosophy that we call the scientific method.
  4. I was trying to be nice with you and give a short, basic example. If you require something else that just scratches the surface in terms of evolution, go to a library and read a book, like the one Deadly_nightshade said. Evolution isn't something that you can answer within short answers and one-liners.
  5. A nice guide about religion, atleast the first 2 minutes. But preferably the whole clip. And it is funny as well.
  6. Hoho, take any species of man from "Lucy" to Cro-magnon to Homo Sapiens Sapiens.
  7. Define "transitional forms". Monkeys to humans or....?
  8. Creationism as an idea is a failure, since it relies on religious dogma, not compatible with empirical research. It should be thought of as a philosophy, not science.
  9. How lucrative is this D&D deal really? How much did NWN2 sell again?
  10. It just shows that if one behaves good doesn't mean that they are let out of the prison within a shorter time. Those behaviors only suits psychopaths or sociopaths. Real psychological test should be made for each prisoner before they are deemed to be fit and released back into society. This includes testing behavioristic tendencies during mental stress and sense severe injustice.
  11. Creationism and it's supporters fail because they claim to use science without understanding the scientific method. The use of empirical data and reasoning is completely out of the window when someone tries to make theories that fit the contents a book written 2000 or so years ago. Creationists also seem to be confused between an idea, hypothesis and a scientific theory. One doesn't have to be smart to understand why creationists and their supporters use this kind of pseudo-science for their agenda.
  12. I see China going from communism to freer market for every day. Nationalism is high there as well. I expect within the next 25 years, China have completely ditched communism and remained it in name only. The market would be free, but the government would still be totalitarian (corporatism? fascism? A bit hard to define...) with a high emphasis on the common chinese identity, which will breed a dangerous form of nationalism. Russia is following China, AND still be independent on oil. I wouldn't be surprised if they will form stronger ties in the future than before. Russia + China would be an interesting counterweight to western democracy in a geopolitical sense. Exciting times ahead folks!
  13. I don't recall using Zaalbar at all. That walking carpet was just a part of the Ebon Hawk's furniture for most of the time.
  14. Shouldn't it? Or have i read my sources wrong? The PS3 does it, so why not the Xbox360?
  15. hard to say. mccain has lost in the primaries too many times. giuliani has too many skeletons, apparently, and as already noted, he's a one event platform. of course, his history with prosecution is what got him elected in NY in the first place. gingrich has been out of the scene for far too long. i don't really know anything about mitt romney, though i disagree that he's the only one that "looks" like a president. i've always thought fred looks presidential as well. i wouldn't be surprised if mitt did indeed get the nomination and he turned around and appointed fred, however. taks That actually sounds really plausible. They have the look and the "right" connections
  16. My experience with the following games: KotOR 1, KotOR 2, Halo 1, Halo 2 and Ninja Gaiden Black. KotOR I- Faster loading times, more stuttering than the original XBox KotOR II - Same as above, but even more stuttering of some reason. Halo 1 and Halo 2 - faster loading times, less stuttering. Ninja Gaiden Black - Same loading times, a lot of stuttering and framerate problems from a game that ran solidly 60fps on the original Xbox. Summary: Pretty crappy, except for the Halos. The PS3 have better BC (and it's in software as well), and it upscales it for the HDTV as well. But they have experience, where the Xbox-department don't have, i guess. //EDIT: Apparantly, the Xbox360 now upscales its games as well, i need to update
  17. This is very interesting. I would like to know more about their technology and how it would practically apply for the elderly and the disabled. Heck, if i had the money, i would probably invest money in them, a lot.
  18. But it doesn't use technology to do so. Mass Effect isn't technology, it is "sensed" by certain people who are sensitive to it. But it can be enhanced through technology. That's the difference, but still Mass Effect = The Force.
  19. But, but doesn't the force manipulate gravity as well? I think that you lost me on this one
  20. Mass Effect uses 'Mass Effect', thus Mass Effect is fantasy as well?
  21. If Fred Thompson will not be elected as President, he will be Mitt Romney's vice-president + some other guys from CFR will be included in the administration. Romney is the only one of them who "looks" like a president
  22. It seems to be working. KotOR III is on its way to a humiliating victory. 31 to 24... you make me sad First rule of the Obsidian-forums: Don't take everything seriously Second rule of the Obsidian-forums: DO NOT take everything seriously Third rule of the Obsidian-forums: Repeat the first one Have a nice day Ahh... so it's kinda like that one movie with the guy and that club where they fight each other. What was the name of that movie? Yes, that movie. We're special.
